Love your channel. I was especially interested in this review because of Tony’s death a week ago which has been all over the news. He created a wonderful company but seems to be a genius who slipped into a very dark place. So sad.

It's so simple, in the end money is just a means to buy happiness. When you supply happiness directly, people want to stay!

You have helped me learn to read more than I ever had this year, your summary videos gave me a new perspective on reading new books, not just any ones, the ones that help improve my productivity on all levels.
I say a big thank you, keep doing what you're doing and keep inspiring.

In my career as an electrical engineer designing electronics, I moved ~ 2 years. One company was in the top 10 best places to work in the USA list. Then they were attacked by Ralph Nader in the media with false or misleading accusations. The FDA shut the company down for a year. Without the huge profits they lost, they could no longer be a daisy farm place to work. It was electronic patents and medical breakthroughs there, not just reselling shoes.

It's interesting to consider how this culture building would look like in a form of OKRs

As I’ve been reviewing the previous episode summaries each day to aid in memorization, a question has crossed my mind. Is it possible that the video might be missing the “in the end” signal at the conclusion for the summary?
I’ve been an avid viewer and listener of your content, particularly watching one episode daily for several months. Your videos have become an essential part of my routine, and I truly appreciate the intriguing and amazing content you consistently deliver.

Great book but incredibly ironic considering that the man who wrote it appeared to struggle to find happiness...

Tony was a great dude but in the end, he did so much drugs that he set himself on fire and would end up dying because of the injuries. I wish someone had delivered happiness to him instead of the endless worshiping he got, maybe he would have still been alive. RIP Tony, you were too good for the business world and you will be missed.

Is it always the place of the company to dictate the values of the employees? When does it become controlling and creepy?

Companies with core values on the wall but still promote the top-producing reps who don't have those values makes me lose all respect for them

most of these culture goals turn into a liberal complaint box. Those who complain about their "feelings", the rest of the business ends up suffering to try to make a contagious unhappy person feel normal. Hopefully, Zappos is different in this regard. Seems Tony wasn't all that happy inside so he tried to make others happy to project his own unhappiness. RIP
