For me, BGC is like living in Canary Wharf and Makati is like Sloane Square or Charing Cross in London. BGC is beautiful but I prefer Makati. It has more character 💋
canary wharf looks so modern but too small compared to BGC and charing cross is not as modern as makati and not as many tall buildings as makati but canary cross don't have many hanging wires as compared to makati
Just tuned in to your channel. Been a little more than 2 years since I was last there and it looks like Manila is alive and doing well. It is the place to be if your into the big city urban life. I prefer the openness of life in the provinces or smaller cities. The Philippines has so much to offer no matter what your tastes are. I am surprised at all the newer vloggers there are now. If you like Makati, make sure to hit the weekend markets: the Salcedo Saturday Market, and the Legazpi Sunday Market. So much good food to be had at both. The vibe of Legazpi Sunday Market is very bohemian - live drumming, vegetarian and vegan offerings, and of course the organic market.

It depends where you stay. BGC is like more that high-end part of Metro Manila. Makati is almost the same but there's more to explore. You haven't explored the outskirts of Manila yet like (EAST) Antipolo, Tanay, (SOUTH) Cavite, Tagaytay, Sta. Rosa and nearby areas of Laguna. Or (NORTH), Subic, Pampanga, Baguio and and as far as Ilocos Norte. Stay safe always and enjoy your stay!
Since youve been here before Dan, you had a short period the last time. Good to see back again. Legaspi and Salcedo village are easy places to live in Makati. Condo rental is between 400 to 600 dollars.depending on the amenities and condition of the units. You're at the heart of the business district, best coffee shops and they even have weekend markets.
I work in BGC for more than 5 years now, but I like Makati more. Indeed Makati is more lively and homey than BGC but both have their own unique feels. Hope you enjoyed your stay :)

For your information, Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas were used to be airport runways back in 1930s. At that time, the area was the first Manila International Air terminal. The airport tower is still existing until to this date and currently being used by Blackbird restaurant.
I think exploring other cities like Boracay and comparing islands to an other or exploring Japan as the next big thing is the best since you will find rich cultures, food types, people, meetup and collabs …etc
You thought it would be small because that’s how Jakarta does CBDs like SCBD and MK. They’re tiny. But Makati and BGC are waaay bigger. It takes a long time to walk around.
Danny you haven't seen much yet of Manila that is the mega manila for it is such a huge megapolis. Go to pasig, QC, muntinlupa etc and you'll see more business districts. So far you've covered only two BGC and Makati CBD

I have a friend living in an apartment in Makati. I had thought about renting there. Thank you for your video. It convinced me that it wasn't for me. I am not a big city type. Nor a province type of person. I need to find something in-between. My wife is originally from metro Manila.
Makati is more alive because it is the financial and business capital of the country. BGC on the other hand is more of an upper class playground although it does have a lot of corporations and businesses as well. Manila meanwhile is the political capital and the Religious capital as well since it is the headquarters of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines and the Seat of the Manila Archdiocese which is the wealthiest in Asia. Quezon City is the largest city and the entertainment capital and it hosts the Lower House of Congress .
Dany ur style of vlogging is something unique than others.. U are like a pro cinematographer u captured the places so nicely with a very narrative deep voice which is so nice to hear. I know it's ur 2nd time to visit Philippines so why not explore other nice places in my country which will make u excited & amazed again. It's so easy to criticize a country like the Philippines because people are so easy going,, they could get hurt upon hearing any bad vibes about the country but most of them also could care less what other people think about our country because we know how beautiful we are no matter what other people thinks.

In my opinion you can live in San Juan near Greenhills or Cubao, Quezon City because they are in the middle. And not as expensive like BGC or Makati

BGC usually comes alive only in weekends and after working hours. Ortigas center is like in between BGC and Makati but they don’t have parks.
