    An easy introduction to XC-style mountain biking in the Yorkshire Dales. This route sets off from Clapham and does a tour of Norber taking in Wharfe and Feizor.
    This is a classic ride that while not technically demanding is a fun ride in a nice corner of the Dales. We picked a particularly unpleasant day to do the ride. Very wet at times.

    Hahahaa! I was reading the intro in your book with this video in the background.... "Wet limestone gives about as much grip as a slippery bar" and then your mate fell off!

      Ha, tahnks for getting the book. Yeah that limestone can be lethal when wet

    Well done, awesome video! Hope you share more videos soon! Well for now, let me a leave a like. Enjoy the week! All the best, Philipp from PHAM --- P.S.: Any tips for my own channel, assuming I’d like to ride and film in that area? :)

    Great video enjoyed that. Do you have the gpx file for it? Would like to ride that, how many miles?

    • @Lakedistrictrider

      Glad you liked it. I don't have the gpx, sorry. Though I have a Mountain Biking in the Yorkshire Dales guide book published by Cicerone. The book doesn't contain this exact route but there are a couple of routes in the book that use some of these trails in different configurations.

      @@Lakedistrictrider Ah.. if you got a garmin 530 edge, you could record and give your subs the gpx files. it increase your channel engagement as people then try the routes and leave comments for others. Just a thought :)

    Great ride Ian. Is this more or less route 1 from the book? On the subject of it arrived earlier today and at first glance superb as is the Lake District one. 👍

      Thanks mate, appreciate the kind words. This vid isn't exactly like any of the routes in the book. It uses some of the trails from route 1, but it is closest to the southern bits of route 12.

    As a noob, I'm interested to know after such a wed and muddy ride, what's best practice for maintenance when you get home? I assume, a spray down, dry off and lube?

    • @Lakedistrictrider
      @Lakedistrictrider  3 года назад +1

      I use muc-off cleaner. Spray it over the bike then hose it off. Dry it off with an old towel then degrease drivechain. The park tool cyclone is good for that. I then use gt85 on all the metallic bits (apart from brakes) to remove water and keep from rusting. Then add chain lube and you are done. Most important bits are cleaning drivechain and suspension seals. If weather turd or I'm knackered I leave it a day but normally easier to clean on the day
