Nope the lady can't braid hair. Gripping hair is important with braiding she can't grip the hair. I know for a fact my Mom had short hair like that the braids never slipped out the braids were gorgeous. Hair is growing and she's still a customer to the braider two years later.
I wonder how often her clients have issues with her work to the point where she would *allegedly* have to hang a sign that says “No Repairs After Four Days.” 🤔
There's absolutely nothing wrong with her sign. With braids some of them will fall out and you come back and get replaced or don't worry about it. In her line of work you definitely have to make that known.
As a braider you have to have a sign up that says something because clients try and come back to get their hair fixed after they have done things like tie their hair up which cause tension and pulling and pull the braids out themselves. That little pack of hair she had wasn’t out of the ordinary. And they looked more like crochet extensions. The judge should’ve asked her was she pulling her hair up. Her hair was probably too short but I also have had plenty of clients who choose to get their hair braided even when you tell them it’s too short and may come out. I don’t think she refused the braids and even when you’re professional doesn’t mean they can guarantee that braids will not come out on hair that’s too short. And then she wanted a full refund? Not fair to the braider who spent 7 hours to do it. Anytime I have gone into an African braid shop their are more than one braider to a head. I think she knew her hair was too short and just changed her mind. Clients try to get over on the braider a lot. You have to post a limit because they will try to come back two weeks later saying something is wrong with their hair and expecting a refund or repair. If that’s the case clients never stop coming back and getting their hair done for free. One reason I stopped braiding hair for the public. I only braid for my daughters now.

The Defendant just didn't know what she was doing... no way should the braids be falling out a couple days later if Defendant had did the braids tight and right
The problem is she got TWISTS. Twisted hair does not last as long as braids. Short hair and braids might have worked if done tightly, but short hair and twists has less of a chance. 3 strands are stronger than 2.
It is possible to twist short hair and it remain intact for a few weeks. For Senegalese twists it’s recommended that the hair is at least 3 inches in length. Stretch the hair by bloodying for added control. There are various techniques that can be used, it is just a matter of applying the right technique given the circumstances. For short hair it’s best to latch the hair with a braiding technique at least one inch from the scalp then transition into twists. This technique would keep the hair from slipping out. If the hair is latched by twisting from the scalp it will slip within the next few days as the hair begins to relax or is exposed to moisture (sweat, water, scalp oil). If the hair is less than 3 inches but the client is adamant about getting this style done, the hair can be stretched and then use the rubber band technique to create a base to latch the hair. Overall I believe the stylist lacked the proper education and communication skills to execute a successful service.
Man look…the customer knew her was short yet she wanted that style because she was probably excited about getting braids. The stylist knew her hair was short BUT still did it because she wanted her MONEY.
I used to get my hair braided all of the time in shops, and it's not uncommon for the shop to have more than one person working on your head. I didn't like that idea, but if I wanted my hair braided, and I didn't want to be sitting there for over seven hours, I just went along with it. This case is a hard one for me, because I understand both sides of the case. I'm a little older now, so there's no way I'd put myself through this braiding process with a shop again. I'm too busy, and too tired for this. I just cut my hair into a cute natural style, and called it a day🤣.
Funny that the judge would say she didn't know why she was getting them because she looks so good as she is - I was thinking the same thing! Beautiful girl just as she is - nothing needed.
I believe she did warn her cause I get my hair braided all the time and if a style won't be right they'll let you know and as far as the sign all braid shops have that sign ,the judge told her she doesn't believe she had the sign up she already told her it was a copy.

I don't believe the plaintiff. I think "she wanted something different " for the funeral and didn't really listen to the hairdresser, and was disappointed it didn't work out...... get a signature !
The judge based this on her own 'common sense' based on her white person hair, whereas it is quite usual for braids to take 7 hours or more and I am sure that the defendant did tell her that they might fall out, but I don't think even she thought they would fall out that fast, but every person who has braids put in, knows that it is too difficult with short hair, so the plaintiff must have known that and yet insisted...
The judge is right, she doesn't need those braids. She is so beautiful without all that. I don't see the reason for the fake hair. The braids took away from her already stunning looks.

The plaintiff is on the verge of having her Black card revoked! As Black people we ALL KNOW that with hair that short braids may and sometimes WILL fall out, because of friction, shaking of the braids, that sort of thing. Exactly! Her hair isn’t even that short
Twists though....not braids
Case opens…. Looks at defendant’s hair…. Case closed
🤦🏽♀️🤣
looks like ropes coming out of her scalp.
I agree with Judge Milian, the plaintiff is very attractive just like she is 😍👍
The problem is she got TWISTS. Twisted hair does not last as long as braids. Short hair and braids might have worked if done tightly, but short hair and twists has less of a chance. 3 strands are stronger than 2.
I agree with the judge... She has the perfect head and face for that cut...
The judge was so right about her current hairstyle. She looks gorgeous with short natural hair.
Those long braids were not a good look for her at all.
I wish I could rock the plaintiffs hair. Very cute!
Judge M. is right - she's rocking her look - the Plaintiff is Beautiful!
She overcharge everyone $150 for 6 cornrows for kids. Never again😊
Im so glad I can do my own hair.
Me too 🥰👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Man look…the customer knew her was short yet she wanted that style because she was probably excited about getting braids.
The judge is right, the Plaintiff ROCKS that style!
every black person knows the braids will fall out once the hair is short....tsk
All African Salons I’ve seen have No Refunds signs.
The fact these plaintiffs really asking a CAUCASIAN woman to understand BLACK HAIR
Loved that smirk from the plaintiff at the end lol
Why lose one of your best clients for $180? I would’ve offered a partial refund (refund - whatever I paid the helpers) or a credit and an apology.
her twists were too big for her length.
I believe she did warn her cause I get my hair braided all the time and if a style won't be right they'll let you know and as far as the sign all braid shops have that sign ,the judge told her she doesn't believe she had the sign up she already told her it was a copy.
Milan doesn’t have a clue. I most definitely believe the defendant told that lady her hair was too short but she told her to do it anyway. It happens all the time.
But she told Milan already her hair was much longer than it was now
The judge and the gloves.😮People are so paranoid about germs. Have you looked on top of a ceiling fan blade?😅
No that lady didn't know what she was doing
I don't believe the plaintiff. I think "she wanted something different " for the funeral and didn't really listen to the hairdresser, and was disappointed it didn't work out...... get a signature !
The judge based this on her own 'common sense' based on her white person hair, whereas it is quite usual for braids to take 7 hours or more and I am sure that the defendant did tell her that they might fall out, but I don't think even she thought they would fall out that fast, but every person who has braids put in, knows that it is too difficult with short hair, so the plaintiff must have known that and yet insisted...
Agreed.
Crazy because Milian possibly may have some African decent due to being Cuban. She should know a little bit about our hair.
The judge is right, she doesn't need those braids. She is so beautiful without all that. I don't see the reason for the fake hair. The braids took away from her already stunning looks.
The beautician should have refused to put them in.
Totally 😝especially if there's not enough length of hair to fasten the extensions to
@@payableondeath9091 I took my daughter to a salon to have her hair straighter . She's always had medium curly hair. At the salon they refused. I said I'll sign a contract not holding you responsible. She still said no!!! Her hair well break. We didn't have it done until her hair got healthy. And it was beautiful. But she perfers the natural look. It's ok.

Wow that's such a low price for 7 hrs of work between 3 women. I can't even imagine
The way the white lady with blonde hair was looking at the plaintiff in the beginning just kills me 😭🤣 I was laughing TOO HARD 0:17- 0:22 like DAYUUUUUM
How about not judging beautiful white women ?
@@marilynwillett804 shut up had nothing to do with her beauty! READ FIRST
There are Senegalese WIGS that exist! Why she waste everyone's time lol! She knew her hair was too damn short
I believe she did warn her that it was going to fall out .. because I have been in many situations were I go to a salon to get braids and my hair is much shorter in the back so the stylist would tell me “ I’m able to grip this, however because your hair is short the braids may not last “ so I believe she was warned and she wants to just sue her cause they came out which is not fair for the stylist 💀
One thing for sure, both ladies look fabulous
The shorter the hair the smaller they need to be . And she should’ve gotten micro braids instead of twists . Twists calls for at least 4” of hair all around . She did deserve the refund but she should’ve never gotten them to begin with . Micro Braids not twists would’ve gripped it .
The Judge is spot on...she is beautiful 😍
I believe the stylist told her but there is no way for her to prove it. She should have declined to do the style.
The plaintiff is on the verge of having her Black card revoked! As Black people we ALL KNOW that with hair that short braids may and sometimes WILL fall out, because of friction, shaking of the braids, that sort of thing. For her to act like she "had no knowledge" of any of that and that the stylist didn't tell her is something I don't believe!
Umm this is false
@@SuperSisterSara Rest in peace.
I'm a white woman and what you said makes sense.
@@marilynwillett804 Thanks love :)
I agree...she does look so much better with the short hair look.
Judge is right she looks awesome with that short hair. I hated those twists they didn't look good on her at all
👍🏿
Marilyn suddenly decided "Black Is Beautiful". She must be reading Adrian's comments lmbao ajajajajaja
I'm pretty sure she didn't say black is beautiful. lmao
@@dianamedelezbain6382 , I didn't say she said it . 😛
Hahahahaha😂
@@payableondeath9091 , 😛😜😛😜🤣😂🤣
She couldn't do my hair, those braids r ugly
Yes!!
Girl you and her both know that the braids came out because her hair is too short duh 🙄
It didn't matter whether her hair was short or long. The braids were not installed correctly and had to many people working on her head.💜
The Plaintiff really is quite stunning. I'm all about doing whatever you want with hair and makeup and nails... but I'd give a whole kidney to be so naturally beautiful!
She should have asked about the short hair before driving there to get this done. Plaintiff knew darn well it wasn’t going to last
She definitely drop the ball on this one Judge . YOUR NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN WITH AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR TO KNOW. That lady needed them braids and it’s common sense that due to her hair being so short them braids was gonna come out
Girl, “African American hair” sounds weird though. I never said my hair was “African American” a day in my life lol
@@jennzifur Maybe not yours's but mine is. I get exactly what she's saying.
Idk. Some braiders can grip short hair properly.
nobody forced her to go to that particular judge with her hair problems.
@That Tunisian Crochet Life These hairstylists don't want to turn down a dollar. JM has a saying, the cheap because expensive! 😄
A REAL BRAIDER can do any hair length! I’ve seen hairstyles even do braids on people with alopecia and make it work like magic & last months ! Step ya GRIP GAME UP HUNTY
I totally agree
Exactly! Everyone in the comments calling her bald headed and saying she barely got anything to grip are so rude and disgusting and obviously don’t know anything about braiding or gripping.
That's so trueeee
nahhh the stylist definitely told her lol
I wonder how many hairdressers would actually refuse. I've seen people demanding to have it bleached, then it falls out. 🤔
I think Harvey called him Kurt. Why does Kurt remind me of Doug? Just as savage😂
Every braid shop I have been to has had the sign that says NO REFUND! Every braid shop!
I agree with the judge she has the PERFECT face for her hair and glasses soooo cute!!!
She looks fabulous as is-agree with judge M.
This happened to me and my hair was about 2inches longer than this ladies I had big cornrows wen I asked for small thin ones she didn’t listen wen I told her there to big So they came out a 4days later - same thing the African Jamaican hair stylist didn’t want to refund me in full So I kick off bad in her shop 😂and got half my money back. She was dam Rude. These unprofessional stylist always say yeah yeah I can do it just to take ur money an run. I Never ever go to hair shops now ever. Glad this lady Won her case. But not all stylist are the same if u have long hair for them to play with.
It took them too long to do her hair because they didn't know what they were doing. lol They probably didn't know the proper technique for shorter hair, so needed help doing them. They should have just been truthful and told her they couldn't do them, that way she could have went to someone else.
Some stylist will not refuse a customer's request no matter what because they want the money. The defendant should have declined the style. The plaintiff is definitely rocking her short hair however I understand her wanting to switch up her look.
