My honda has been sitting for 2 weeks because of a worn solenoid. Because your video I can do this, I can replace it myself. Thank you for making it simple. Total lifesaver.
Totally appreciate this video!! Love the fact your son is right there with you and wants to be involved. AND you let him talk with/to you and us while working to show us we CAN do this repair instead of dropping close to $300 in Missouri in 2022!!
My 2004 CRV began stuttering between 2,500 and 3,000 RPM and reports a P2646 code. I've made sure it's not low on oil, and I'm considering replacing this solenoid. Thanks for the video and tell Conner he getting his 15 minutes of fame at a very young age. :)
@@BrianBalatbatJust a follow-up. I tried just replacing the gasket and screen, but the problem persisted. After replacing the whole module, it fixed the issue. Thanks again!

1- Good informative video 2- Great job having your son with you. The time is short with our children, maximize that influence and time with them! Now to go do this same job on my daughters car.
My car today threw the code at me and also was starting to stutter at 30mph. Scary stuff. Managed to get home, and found your video. Looks simple enough, so looking to replace it Saturday. Hopefully it's just a solenoid issue. I had my oil changed last week. So shouldn't be that.
Thanks for the video, it’s great. If anybody out there reads this, I’m trying to determine if the VTEC system switch OR solenoid is what I need. When I went to AutoZone, they showed me a picture of the part, but it was not this part being installed on this video. Their computer said I either need the solenoid or switch, so I’m confused. The code that came up was p1259 “VTEC system failure.
Great video. Very informative. I found out my issue was low oil, but if the P1259 code does not clear, I'll be rewatching this video before I swap out the solenoid.
I heard some after market brands don’t hold up for long and check engine light comes back on, please give us update on the issue, I have same car and hesitant to buy after market brand. Thank you so much!
Hi Brian, great video. I’m needing to do this exact same thing on my 2003 Honda CRV, but everywhere I call they tell me I can’t buy the starter solenoid separate from the starter. Where did you get the starter solenoid in this video? Thanks for any help.

Thank you very much for posting this. It is great when people take the time to share with the goal of helping others. Your effort is appreciated!
Not a problem at all. My goal is to help others out there. Thanks for watching! ✌️

I appreciate that! Have to teach them young. Have a great day!
Clear video. Junior is so cute, treasure the moments they grow up quick !
Thank you so much! They sure do grow up quick.
The gasket and screen can be bought separately for around 10 dollars. Sometimes replacing that will fix the problem and save you 75 bucks.

Thanks for the demonstration and info
Not a problem!
thank you much for showing it
No problem!
Super easy, just got this code today. Where did you buy your solenoid and how much did it cost?
Hi Conner nice video thanks bud
I appreciate it!
Got the same problem I used the 3/8 and wont come out any tips I tried hit it with wrench but don't want stick
Hi there, I was wondering where you buy your parts from thank you
I do have a code for the vtec solenoid and I didn't replace it yet but will it go and limp mode if you have this problem?
Can u show me another way to wire if I can’t find that wire splitter?
What was wrong with the old one? I'm 90% sure I have the same issue but idk if the part is bad or if I just need to replace the rubber seal
great job
Thank you!
good vid, these CRV's seem pretty easy to work on, easy to access most parts. Why did you replace it? Was having trouble starting? Thx
Thanks, it had a rocker arm code from what I remember so I replaced it. It fixed the issue.

Yes they don’t hold up long, I just took mine out and cleaned it using the soap / bucket method and it’s good so far.
You ever get rear suspension issues where like it looks like the rear end sits lower than the front?
Yes

Hi, this video shows how to replace vtec solenoid not the starter solenoid.
What was the symptoms??
What are the torque specs?
Boss man ,what was the problem ?? Thanks
Help replaced my VTT Solenoid and days later it went out again, is there something else that could be causing this
What’s the code?

How much y'all wanna bet he used that tapped bolt ;)
Does it matter what the torque specs are?
8.7 foot pounds
Was that the original solenoid?
I believe so
Not bad
Thanks
