  • Description:
Chaeronea is a village in the Municipality of Livadeia, in the prefecture of Boeotia, in Greece.
Easter 1966. The film begins and records, from various angles, the most recognizable historical symbol of Boeotia, the marble “Lion of Chaeronea" on its high pedestal, which is located on an area full of cypress trees, at the eastern entrance of the city, next to the Archaeological Museum.
We watch cars with visitors, the main road, the mountain Chlomos of the prefecture of Fthiotida in the background, two women outside of a car looking at some clothes, a bus of that era passes behind them and just after that we are above the village of Aliartos, where we see the medieval Supervising Tower, built in the 13th-14th century.
The film closes with footage of a donkey grazing in the lush low vegetation.
