Several ideas to share. I own the 01 off the line in 2001 Maverick Master Angler 21. Love the boat, but some things I thought about over the time I have had it. Why not eliminate one rod holder on the side of the console, and add an additional larger door to the side for easier access. Also the lock on the seat hatch is directly under the seat. Add an exterior polished latch there and add grab rails, handles on each side of the gunnel for the outside riders to hold on to. Locate it on the near inside edge of the rod box doors so you still can walk the gunnel. The grab handles on the console make them bend forward, a very uncomfortable position causing them look down while traveling at 50 miles per hour, and not see splash coming, ouch! Another is the bilge access, needs to be larger for easier pump access. You basically have to stand on your head to do the chore. I will never own nothing but a Maverick, Hewes or pathfinder boat. Best boats out there, and worth the money. Hope these ideas are considered. Thank You.

my 2017 front hatch is coming apart at the hinge screws, not through bolted... of course warranty wont cover that or the failed switch panel backlighting. cant even get a response from the contact page about purchasing parts

Beautiful boat been running in them for over 25 years as a guide it would be nice if I could order a custom one however all I get is the runaround from all the local dealers they only want to show me what’s in stock not and take the time to order the boat way I want it rings. I feel after 25 years I would know how to rig out about where I need it for my clients better than a boat dealership. I’ve tried to contact Charlie not numerous times to discuss ordering a new boat and all I get as you need to contact your local dealer.

I have a 2019 and the weight is 1900 pounds with the 115 on the back...exact same weight listed for the 2022 model. How is this new version lighter? Same exact weight as previous models.

What are some of the key differences between this and the Maverick

As noted below, the differences are mainly related to weight and beam. We consider Mavericks technical poling skiffs, which means they are designed specifically for poling. To pole for fast moving fish such as bonefish, tarpon and permit a boat needs to be lighter and have a smaller footprint at the waterline (less beam) so that there's less water resistance when pushing it directly forward and laterally. As such, a poling skiff is going to tend to be more tender or tippy. The Hewes can still be poled but with a little more difficulty than the Mavericks, but are considerably more stable than the Mavericks because of the wider beam. If you're poling 90 % or more of the time, the Maverick is probably your best choice. If you plan to use a trolling motor a lot and fish inlets and passes with choppier conditions, the Hewes would be a better option.
