I consistently get around 44 to 50mpg. The fuel light comes on from 180 to 215 miles. From there you should have another 40 to 50 miles of reserve left. Many factors play into that. I weigh 145lb. Florida roads are straight and flat. I noticed my mpg drops from 50 to 47mpg when the panniers are on (creates drag). 44mpg when they are loaded. Depends on the mode your in etc. I usually keep it on sport 2 but I had it on drive on that emergency run.
@@adventurehobbies1272 I'm also in FL (Floral City) usually ride in auto/drive and average 48mpg. (Haven't paid attention when panniers are on) Guess I've been to cautious with range. Thanks
@@zavlov Africa twin has a 5gal tank. With your average you should be able to get 200miles before the light comes on. Light will come on once you used 4.2gal. 4.2gal x 48mpg should be 201 miles before you use reserve. Then the gauge will count down from .8gal which is about anither 40miles. So ride confidently.
So. You weren't even sweating it. At least towards the end. I think I'll keep 10 bucks hidden in the bike somewhere for just such a situation. With my NC700X I average around 69mpg with mostly suburban driving. Of course without the wallet I'm still screwed. Some day it would be interesting to figure out just how much fuel is left when the low level light comes on. Don't you feel kinda naked without the wallet?
1:35 I was like wtf🤔 Exits like a boss😎👍
I get to nervous around 180 miles and fill up. (I have '19 DCT AT). Very surprised at range you got.

@@adventurehobbies1272 Thanks. Tried and tested!
Is there a fuel pump? Or just gravity feed?

Best fuel economy I've ever gotten was on an nc700x. But it had a small tank. I think the range was about 150 miles.
@@adventurehobbies1272 My NC700X gets well over 200 miles/ tank.
