I wish they would bring back THIS version of the 2nd act. I hope we can get a NBC live production of DreamGirls and they it back to the OG ways and take out they listen song, I never cared for they song and hate when they added it to the movie and now they have it in the Broadway shows
Even if not an NBC version, just a production that stays true to Bennett’s legacy and doesn’t reference the movie. The original material is brilliant on its own

I really wished they kept this for the movie. I remember seeing Beyoncé do a piece of the beginning on her Beyoncé Experience tour and I thought nothing of it at the time.
MarQui Jae me too. There are some parts to the film that infuriate me, such as the lack of certain musical moments like this, Ain’t No party, and the sung-through parts of Heavy, Cadillac Car, and One Night Only. Why assemble such a talented cast and then not take full advantage of them?

All three ladies voices compliment each other so well! Deborah Burrell was great as Deena.
Am I the only one that is anxious watching that poor actress dancing on those steps in heels, a long dress while holding a mike?
Should have seen the Broadway production....the stairs flew up and down with the women in heels and those dresses dancing on them. FRIGHTENING and EXCITING at the same time!
In the original production at the end of the song the Dreams were lifted up and in to the ceiling, dancing in heels, and singing. And the original step work was something to behold. Too bad the Bennet and Peter’s choreography has been lost over the years.
Bennett & Peters choreographed this for the scaled down national tour.

I have always wondered why they changed the second act opening number sooooo many times. This was amazing but nothing tops the actual original choreo with more of the stair work. I have always wondered this.
This is a scaled down staircase for the touring company. When this new version was introduced on Broadway these girls WORKED the stairs - heels and all!
Ladies and gentlemen she is way better than LLB and comes close to knocking SLR OFF HER THRONE! Smooth vocals and very seductive!!! She ranks at the very top!

Wardrobe mishap at 1:00; great to see them "in process" and learning still how to use the costumes, props, set, etc.

Amazing, but so dangerous, heels, long tight dresses and steps. One slip and any of them could be out for weeks or worse. Hope they got hazard pay!
