    This is bad. Anyone in government needs to be loyal to the Constitution not a person or party.

    • @homofloridensis
      @homofloridensis Месяц назад +11

      It's time for those of us who took the oath to step up to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; [and] bear true faith and allegiance to the same".

    • @NobodyCares6996
      @NobodyCares6996 Месяц назад +4

      @homofloridensis I just really hope that the young soldiers of today know enough to realize how fortunate we are to be in such a delicate system that relies on everyone putting the Constitution before anything else. If we lose this, we'll be lucky if we ever get it back.

    • @Mustapha1963
      @Mustapha1963 Месяц назад +1

      And that loyalty to the Constitution would include securing our borders and enforcing, rather than ignoring, immigration law.

    • @NobodyCares6996
      @NobodyCares6996 Месяц назад

      @@Mustapha1963 It depends on if the government is going to use probationary asylum, which was used in the majority of administrations, or political asylum be granted before entering the country. I believe there are times for probationary asylum to be used and not to be used and I think during this last administration it was used far too much. That being said, it is ridiculous that we don't fund enough political asylum officials to process claims in a timely manner. It's utterly ridiculous that someone should wait longer than 30 days in what can often be life or death situations.
      In the end, did the Biden administration go against the Constitution? No, but only because probationary asylum is legal. That being said, they abused it and didn't get serious about it until it was too late. By that time, there was no way Trump was going to let them go through with a bill that would have solved the majority of what people were upset about. But I believe that's the Democrats fault. They should have tackled that in their first two years and by not doing so was a huge failure.
      But that doesn't mean that we should ever abandon the Constitution or not put it first. Politicians are always going to push the envelope of what they can get away with and that's part of the delicate nature of our system.

    • @Mustapha1963
      @Mustapha1963 Месяц назад +1

      @@NobodyCares6996 I would disagree with you strongly that the Biden Administration did not violate the Constitution.
      a claim of "asylum" is valid ONLY if the government of a country is causing harm to the person seeking asylum. If a country with a majority religion is using the power of government to suppress members of the minority religion (or looking the other way while other groups do so), that is a valid case for seeking asylum. But it is NOT valid to seek asylum merely because the economy in your home country is terrible.
      Further, asylum claims must be made in the next "safe" country. Are you telling me that there are no "safe countries" between Venezuela and the United States? Or between Nigeria and the United States? Or between the PRC and the United States? Just because someone wants to come to the United States via the asylum process does not give them an absolute right to do so.

    The UK system is very different to the US but I recall a very heated debate when I was a student at the Advanced Command & Staff Course in the UK. As an officer in the British Army I swore allegiance to the monarch - the Queen at the time. But the monarch has no political power or constitutional power. However, the monarch represents the embodiment of the sovereignty of the country. So the debate was, if the Queen dropped by your office and said arrest the Prime Minister - the head of government - would we do so? We split about 50:50. Those who would arrest basically said our oath was to the monarch. Those who said they wouldn’t believed the sovereignty of the people rested in the elected parliament in which the Prime Minister is ‘first among equals’. Our civil war was essentially about where sovereignty lay, with the monarch or parliament. It’s an issue as a nation we have never resolved.

    Consider that if the American colonies had just allowed Britain to grant them independence like other Commonwealth countries, the US would have a Parliamentary Democracy and not a Republic modeled on the French one which was tossed out anyway. You would have a proper separation of powers, the President could not rule by executive order and the President would be elected by the people as a member of parliament, and then chosen from elected MPs. The insitiution of Parliament would be above the President in authority and none of this would be able to happen.
    But they didn't. And look where you are now. Best of luck.

    • @1000rogueleader

      Actually, a parliamentary democracy doesn't have separation of powers. The executive is at the mercy of the legislature in a parliamentary government. What you have in the U.K. is Parliamentary supremacy where parliament is basically sovereign and the common man has no rights vis-a-vis government. This has show to be even worse than the United States.

They started by instituting their own religious morailty (DEI wokeism) into government/society and controlling free speech with terms like "misinformation" and "disinformation" and calling anyone who questions the narrative names and shunning them. It's essentially replacing and twisting our first amendment rights into a leftist vision and control of our religion and speech.

Why would it have been okay to call out the troops on the January 6th mob storming the capitol when it was not right to do it when the BLM 2020 rioters were attempting to storm the White House? Not that i would want to try to get in the head of Trump (God forbid), but maybe that's what he was thinking on January 6th - they(the general's) didnt want him to call for military intervention in 2020, so why are they so anxious for me to do it now in 2021.
