I believe there are times for probationary asylum to be used and not to be used and I think during this last administration it was used far too much. That being said, it is ridiculous that we don't fund enough political asylum officials to process claims in a timely manner. It's utterly ridiculous that someone should wait longer than 30 days in what can often be life or death situations. In the end, did the Biden administration go against the Constitution? No, but only because probationary asylum is legal. That being said, they abused it and didn't get serious about it until it was too late. By that time, there was no way Trump was going to let them go through with a bill that would have solved the majority of what people were upset about. But I believe that's the Democrats fault. Can i ask these experts the one question that has bothered me for awhile. Why would it have been okay to call out the troops on the January 6th mob storming the capitol when it was not right to do it when the BLM 2020 rioters were attempting to storm the White House? Not that i would want to try to get in the head of Trump (God forbid), but maybe that's what he was thinking on January 6th - they(the general's) didnt want him to call for military intervention in 2020, so why are they so anxious for me to do it now in 2021. Just saying.
Consider that if the American colonies had just allowed Britain to grant them independence like other Commonwealth countries, the US would have a Parliamentary Democracy and not a Republic modeled on the French one which was tossed out anyway. You would have a proper separation of powers, the President could not rule by executive order and the President would be elected by the people as a member of parliament, and then chosen from elected MPs. The insitiution of Parliament would be above the President in authority and none of this would be able to happen. But they didn't. And look where you are now. Best of luck.
