      @dallastaylor5479 maybe. I was in the military for Jan 6th. If he hadn't left I was prepared to put my papers in. The peaceful transfer of power is what keeps our democratic republic intact. Now, if he manufactures a crisis that requires an "all hand s on deck" approach that might get the military more involved in civil affairs but Germans in 1933 were bound by mostly blood, not just culture. America is such a melting pot of that as well as culture (including the military) that it would be difficult to get any significant amount of dissenters that would go full Nazi. At least that's how I see it.

      @homofloridensis I just really hope that the young soldiers of today know enough to realize how fortunate we are to be in such a delicate system that relies on everyone putting the Constitution before anything else. If we lose this, we'll be lucky if we ever get it back.

    • @Mustapha1963

      And that loyalty to the Constitution would include securing our borders and enforcing, rather than ignoring, immigration law.

    • @NobodyCares6996
      @NobodyCares6996 20 часов назад

      @@Mustapha1963 It depends on if the government is going to use probationary asylum, which was used in the majority of administrations, or political asylum be granted before entering the country. I believe there are times for probationary asylum to be used and not to be used and I think during this last administration it was used far too much. That being said, it is ridiculous that we don't fund enough political asylum officials to process claims in a timely manner. It's utterly ridiculous that someone should wait longer than 30 days in what can often be life or death situations.
      In the end, did the Biden administration go against the Constitution? No, but only because probationary asylum is legal. That being said, they abused it and didn't get serious about it until it was too late. By that time, there was no way Trump was going to let them go through with a bill that would have solved the majority of what people were upset about. But I believe that's the Democrats fault. They should have tackled that in their first two years and by not doing so was a huge failure.
      But that doesn't mean that we should ever abandon the Constitution or not put it first. Politicians are always going to push the envelope of what they can get away with and that's part of the delicate nature of our system.

    • @Mustapha1963
      @Mustapha1963 9 часов назад

      @@NobodyCares6996 I would disagree with you strongly that the Biden Administration did not violate the Constitution.
      a claim of "asylum" is valid ONLY if the government of a country is causing harm to the person seeking asylum. If a country with a majority religion is using the power of government to suppress members of the minority religion (or looking the other way while other groups do so), that is a valid case for seeking asylum. But it is NOT valid to seek asylum merely because the economy in your home country is terrible.
      Further, asylum claims must be made in the next "safe" country. Are you telling me that there are no "safe countries" between Venezuela and the United States? Or between Nigeria and the United States? Or between the PRC and the United States? Just because someone wants to come to the United States via the asylum process does not give them an absolute right to do so.

      No. You don't get to give up. That is cowardly.
      How do you keep going? That's a question for you to find the answer to. It may mean meditating a little bit, it may mean lying low, it may mean self-improvement, it may mean getting deeper into an activity that you've always loved, until the time comes when you know what needs to be done with this administration. How to push back. What struggle to join.
      But giving up = helping the enemy. I canvased for Harris in a battleground state for a week and I'm not giving up. Those who flipped for Trump or just didn't vote because they didn't feel right will be quickly chastened. And there is going to be resistance. Be ready for it.

Why would it have been okay to call out the troops on the January 6th mob storming the capitol when it was not right to do it when the BLM 2020 rioters were attempting to storm the White House? Not that i would want to try to get in the head of Trump (God forbid), but maybe that's what he was thinking on January 6th - they(the general's) didnt want him to call for military intervention in 2020, so why are they so anxious for me to do it now in 2021. Consider that if the American colonies had just allowed Britain to grant them independence like other Commonwealth countries, the US would have a Parliamentary Democracy and not a Republic modeled on the French one which was tossed out anyway. You would have a proper separation of powers, the President could not rule by executive order and the President would be elected by the people as a member of parliament, and then chosen from elected MPs. The insitiution of Parliament would be above the President in authority and none of this would be able to happen.
    But they didn't. And look where you are now. Best of luck.
