Yeah sounds very strange, i see someone else has commented that it was down to copyright which makes sense.

Yeah that's very strange the only thing I can think of is there was some kind of copyright issue with The uk theme music being used in the foreign release

Ok it’s down to rights. When it was first released on DVD in the United States it did not have the original music on the titles or in the episodes themselves. This was also true in other parts of the world however when the series was released in the UK by Network the music clearance laws had changed. This enabled Network to release the episodes completely as they were originally broadcast including the title sequence for season two onwards. However, season one although it had all of the music in the episodes themselves the title sequence music was replaced by the producers of the series themselves as the original song ‘Save Me’ by Peter Cetera could not be cleared. They replaced it with ‘Above the Waterline’ by Kim Carnes. The series has since been remastered in HD and the music is now different in every single episode being replaced with modern alternative songs which just don’t work. The title sequence in every season from season one to nine is ‘I’m Always Here’. You can buy the series on DVD in Germany and that has the complete music on all nine seasons. You can also buy the series in Germany on Blu-ray which has the remastered versions with the different music and it also has the original versions not in HD with the original music. The UK versions from network are the most complete versions released in the UK but they only went up to season six and didn’t release any after that. There has never been a complete set of the episodes anywhere in the world released with the complete original episodes as they were originally broadcast. The German DVD and Blu-ray sets are the most complete versions anywhere in the world with the original music on the original episode versions.

@@jimjammoviesandtv9682No problem mate, the music rights to Baywatch are very complicated as it was a series that relied a lot on music. I don’t think it will ever be released in its full original format again.

It might be to to either music or rights or copyright

The theme tune on the Australian release dose not work or fit with the opening title
