I always say it's women who physically have to endure more in life in general but then I hear this story and giving my hats off to Larry here. No whining, great attitude....much respect!
I have a child at 40 via sperm donation from the University. He just graduated in anthropology. I raised him by myself financially, physically, and emotionally. He is a wonderful young man and very very handsome
Hello. I am 38, been wanting to have a child. I am planning to have IUI in AU bcoz my country don’t let single women to do that. Do you think one cycle can make me positive? It is expensive for me since AU is far from my country. Thank you!
I was actually born through IVF. My parents tried for years to conceive but they were a little older and they had no luck. So they went through with IVF and the fertilized egg split into three. They got lucky and had triplets, and I’m so happy to have two amazing brothers! Best of luck 💜
That's awesome that your parents were given the gift of life through IVF ☺️ however, if one embryo split into 3, you would have two sisters (not brothers) and you would all be identical! If your brothers are identical twins, then it's likely they put two embryos back. If they are not identical twins, then they would have put three embryos back into your Mum (which was very common 10+ years ago when the success rates were quite a bit lower).
@@milesandbos you’re right! I’ve never been told the whole story, but that sounds more right. I believe they implanted three fertilized eggs hoping one would become an embryo and then they all did (which was very unlikely)! Thanks for clearing that up for me, I totally misconstrued what I meant by that.
I can’t recommend Florida fertility institute enough. We have 3 children thanks to them. Andrea is the IVF nurse, she responsive and honest. Dr. Zbella is so caring and realistic with expectations. They also have really good financing options
When you think about it, this is so amazing. Usually it’s only the women who have to endure pain, hospital visits and possible procedures. But for this baby both mom and dad had to put in the work, get a procedure done, be on bed rest etc. Larry is such a wonderful man!
At the moment I am pregnant with our second child. Our son we got through ivf (icsi) in our first try. And this time it worked again in our first try. I have to say I am so thankful that in the Netherlands, where I'm from you don't have to pay for the first 3 tries, it is standard insured. Otherwise we would not have been able to have kids. Hope it all works out for you two and you will have a little bundle of joy in your arms soon. Hugs from the Netherlands.
20,000... does that break only my heart or what? You two are so strong and you guys must remember no matter what, you two will have each other, through the ups and downs... that's love 💖💕💖❣
I absolutely LOVE to see how happy and in love you guys are. My husband and I are 15 years apart as well and the second I laid eyes on him I knew he was the one. We have 4 kids together but he has 2 other daughters and about 11 grandkids. I cant wait to see you guys with your babies/baby.
I'm crying sitting on the couch watching this this morning. I'm super emotional when it comes to babies lately as the baby fever is REAL. I'm so happy you guys are starting a new journey and I hope that this all works out! I have my fingers and toes crossed and sending all the baby dust your way. Much love ❤❤
I love y’all & the love y’all have for one another. My husband is way older than me too. We have a lot of kids. I really hope y’all have kids too. I’m holding on & waiting patiently.
Been watching your journey for awhile. I’m so happy you are taking the next step toward IVF. I had IVF last fall and it worked the very first time we tried even with both of us being older (I’m 42 and hubby is 53). I really admire your positivity and perseverance. Best wishes to you both!! ❤️🙂
I’m wishing you guys so much luck and praying hard for you ! I wish I could do this with my hubby (he’s 66 and I’m 42) had a vasectomy over 25 years ago as well..but I had my tubes tied 18 years ago. To think about it, it would be great to have a biological baby as well. I know this will work out, even if adoption is the final ending. Stay positive! I love you guys and wishing Larry speedy recovery! ❤️❤️❤️
Honestly it still blows my mind the clinic didn’t advise you of the statistics of IUI way in advance of you actually doing it 😔 You guys are strong and you will get what you desire 💕
“A child who is longed for is loved” omg I absolutely love this quote Mindy!!! 💜 I could cry! I’m so beyond happy for you guys and am praying this works out 💞💞 love you guys!!
My husband & I cherish your videos. We are praying, hoping, and rooting for you guys. These videos are incredibly helpful as we will soon be starting this journey as well.
So I just did 2 years of IVF & I had no clue what all went into it until going through. I know there is a lot of info they don’t tell you like the progesterone, etc. but I wanted to tell you some things I learned. I know you said the soonest you could do it was June or July & said you would have a spring baby but just know that once you start with the egg retrieval, it can be a few months before transferring depending if you do a fresh transfer or not. With a fresh transfer, they would have you start meds the day after retrieval & on the 5th day when you should have a blastocyst (embryo), they would put it back into you. I wouldn’t recommend it personally because the stats are higher with frozen transfers. You also will have the choice of genetic testing them which is to check & make sure all of the chromosomes are there and lined up correctly so it would find things like Down’s syndrome, trisomys that are incompatible with life, & things like that. Usually they say about 50-65% are normal so doing the testing just reduces your chance of miscarriage or the transfer not taking because your body will Try to not hold on to something that won’t be a healthy baby. This way when you go to transfer, they would only transfer embryos that are normal & you’re not wasting more time & money. They also never told me to expect my numbers to drop quite a bit as you go... like I had 10 eggs retrieved, only 5 were mature & luckily all 5 fertilized but only 4 made it to day 5 turning into an embryo and then of the 4, only 2 were genetically normal. Also, just know to expect the unexpected as far as delays and what not. Like they find a cyst or your lining of your uterus isn’t thick enough, & plenty other things. There’s a ton more I could go in detail & give you a heads up so feel free to reach out. My IG is @J.m.g.designs. Best of luck to you guys. It’s a tough journey but so worth it. I did IVF solely because of male factor infertility also. Love and prayers!
For couples deciding on ivf or not, i recommend figuring out worst case/highest amount you're willing to spend...meaning what is your absolute cap with the highest amount of invasive procedures/alternative options? So, if that number is 50k...then that might mean you're willing to go one(maybe two)round of ivf, a few rounds of IUI, and have adoption options. If your number is 25k, then you can say...I'm going to do one round of ivf, one or two rounds of IUI, and possibly a foster to adopt situation. Obviously, you'll want to decide what options work for you, but I think it really is helpful to look at maximums first. Otherwise you're spending IUIs and incrementally raising your bill and then not realize when you've hit a point that a more expensive option is now off the table.
You both thought it would work first time and it didn't. Pregnancy isn't just something that happens first, second or third time. So important to research and be realistic. Great that others can learn from this!
My husband had a vascetomy in 2017, and we thought we was done having children but we aren't ❤️ so this video was very inspiring for us! Sending all kind of love your way! 💗💗💗
