The raw emotions in Lian and Kuea's eyes is just unbelievable, starting this moment 15:17 till the beginning of the episode 12. The way Lian stood there after Kuea left, looking so lost and crying as if his heart was ripped apart, is just heartbreaking yet breathtaking at the same time (This is my favorite acting by Zee so far, he nailed it). In general, the acting in this scene is simply top notch, they both delivered with such professional natural acting and raw emotions that touch the hearts. You can literally feel the love, sadness and pain in their voices and see it in their eyes. This scene is literally the best scene in the whole series and one of the best scenes in 2022.
I KNEW it was going to go this way based on seeing the thumbnail for the next episode but I still gasped when he said "it's better if we don't"
All the "it makes sense" aside, the AWKWARDNESS of a failed marriage proposal is so intense. Especially at your dad's birthday celebration 💀 the guests who went for a birthday and got surprised with a wedding proposal must have had whiplash lmaoo they were prolly all sat there like 😬
He shouldn't have made his dad's birthday celebration a wedding proposal to begin with cause it was his dad's moment, not his or Kuea's.

this why I've heard ppl say it's never a good idea to do a surprise proposal in public without even any serious agreement on marriage beforehand, it can be very humiliating for both parties.
Also let this be a lesson to everyone: DO NOT DO A PUBLIC WEDDING PROPOSAL UNLESS THE OTHER PERSON WANTS IT.
Zee and NuNew are amazing and I know this is created drama for TV, but in real life please do not do this. It places too much pressure to say yes on the person being proposed to, unless they have explicitly expressed wanting a public one.

So true. In general, I think you should probably make sure you’re on the same page before proposing marriage. A friend of mine did a surprise proposal in a public park, but they had already discussed wanting to get married and picked out a ring together, so no one was caught off guard. I suppose Kuea and Lian have had the marriage talk, but they also just had an argument about Lian not trusting Kuea, and Lian is fully aware that Kuea doesn’t fully trust him and is keeping numerous secrets... I saw that rejection coming a mile away.
I understood why kuea said no. To him, his kirin identity is still a secret to everyone including lian, even if he suspects him knowing. Lian's parents also are in the dark about kuea studying automobile engineering instead of computer engineering, look at his expression when they were introducing him to their guests. He felt ashamed and guilty, add on the insecurity and lack of trust in lian to be able to accept him as he is.
We all know how much kuea loves lian and vice versa, but a relationship built on lies will not end well. I think this rejection is an end to their fake personas, and a new beginning for liankuea.

I love how Zee potrayed the sadness so well. We always see a strong, mature and smart Lian but then when he cry you can see the child that he kept away in order to be "suitable" for Keua. A confuse heartbroken child looking at his parents, wondering what he did wrong.

This was hard to watch but expected. They lied to each other throughout the whole relationship. The only truth they ever told each other is that they love each other but everything else was an unnecessary lie. And like Kuea said in episode 9: "love is not just about the two of us, there are many factors involved".
As a kid, Lian felt insecure about not being good enough because he was just an ice delivery boy and Kuea was from a wealthy family. As an adult, Kuea lied about his studies and his singing career because he felt that he was not fancy enough for serious, businessman Lian. Lian lies to Kuea about his family property and does stuff behind his back without telling him about any of it. At least the lies that Kuea told don't really affect Lian's life, whereas Lian keeping the Keerati property thing from him is a big deal that is tied to Kuea's inheritance and wealth. It's a mess and it's true that this is not how a relationship should be so it's expected that Kuea doesn't feel comfortable being engaged to him anymore. He just wants to be his equal and for them to be honest with each other. I totally understand him but I also wish I didn't have to see Lian cry in front of all his family and friends. I'm heartbroken for both of them. I hate public proposals LOL 😢

Me dió tanta satisfacción que Kuea le dijera que no, hacer todo a escondidas y la falta de comunicación hacia que todo en su relación se hiciera incomoda, que Kuea no le diga aún sobre sus otras partes de sí mismo, dice q no le tiene confianza aún a Lian y que Hia Lian ya sepa de todo lo que hace Kuea pero lo mantenga en secreto en vez de pedirle confianza me estresa.
Bravo Kuea supiste como manejarlo, creo que una de las peores cosas que puedes hacer es pedirle matrimonio a alguien en público, Kuea no conocía a nadie de ese lugar (a parte de los padre de Hia y su amigo) y ciertamente estar en esa situación te hace sentir obligado a decir que sí, me dieron lastima los dos pero ahora tendrán oportunidad de conversar y tener una relación completamente sana ❤️🫂.

Zee is such a supreme actor. When he turned to his dad with tears in his eyes, my heart broke. He looked so lost, confused and scared. Like his entire world just ran out the door. I am in awe whenever I see Zee in this role, he really embodies the character so well. And I have to say that NuNew's micro expressions in this were so good as well. We could see Kuea already feeling uneasy during the talk with Lian's parents and also some sadness mixed with love when Lian was singing. We all knew what was coming. They love each other but love is not enough 💔
Zee acting is superior , he really has improved so much since "why r u" , a complete transformation.

Oh gawd, the last scene was heartbreaking. I couldn't stop crying. When Kuea started crying so hard before walking out, I was crying really hard already but when I saw Hia Lian's tears and how he looked back at his parent's like a child wanting to be comforted by their parents, I was bawling like a baby. Zee and Nunew did so well in that scene, they really are phenomenal actors.

when they showed Keua's expression just as Hia knelt i knew he wouldn't say yes, something about his expression and his breathing, but when the rejection actually took place i cried so much, and cried even more when i saw Hia's expression. I understand the pressure that Keua must've faced cause it was a public proposal but it still made my heart hurt

I knew something was off, when he made that expression when talking to Lians dad and Ls dad wanted Kuea to call him dad. From there I just knew something was off. When his breathing got erratic I knew his insecurities were starting to take over and swallow him whole.

When Kuea was singing in the bar, he already manifested his self doubt and feeling of worthlessness. To be honest, as much as I felt bad for Lian being rejected, in Kuea's side was hard too. It's hard when you really love someone but you feel not worthy of the love given to you, you will just feel guilty and have self doubt and will hate yourself in the end instead of being happy with it. During Diao and Kuea's conversation he already felt guilty and thinking he was just a burden to everyone esp to Lian. And bravo Nunew, he portrayed it very well in this Episode. When he was already seems distant with Lian when Lian was hugging him, his face seems guilty too when Lian's father introduced him to his friend and seems freaked out when Lian was singing for him. He might be thinking that Lian love the fake self of him and not the real him. Remember how he changed his self from the start because he thinks his real self is not worthy of Lian and that Lian will not like him. And it sad because, it hits him big time to the extend of rejecting the person he's in love with for a long time. But of course, seeing Lian's face after rejection hurts big time too. No wonder Zee said this is his fave episode, this is the best performance of him in the series so far. Zee's acting will make you feel the hurt and pain too while watching the scene.
Gosh, this is the first that I am so invested in a BL series. Kodus to all the actors and staffs for delivering this brilliant series. This is the best Episode for me.

I'm no one's side because for me, both of them have flaws and they really need to communicate just the two of them. Anyway, agreed with you this is also my favorite episode so far aside from episode 8. 🙊
I'm really amazed with Zee's acting that even without dialogue just only his eyes but you can read and feel the emotions he's trying to tell. So as Nunew, for his first acting series but did great, he did act the phone call scene in just one take. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I don't know when Kuea's insecurities started or where they stem from, but I think his family and Lian underestimated how deep and far they run. Could be because Kuea's family has always been extremely overprotective of him, even starting with his grandfather, and they sheltered him to the point that when he finally understood how removed he is from the real world he became ashamed and insecure how to interact with 'normal' people (for example him not knowing a single thing in a kitchen). And he's the only Keerati heir which must put sooo much pressure on him to create a certain image of himself and how to behave in society. Plus his family completely entrusting his care to Lian, like Kuea is not able or mature enough to do things on his own. And the biggest reason is probably Lian's extremely hardworking serious nature and his standing in society to which Kuea might compare himself to or why he's keeping his real interests secret, which is pretty sad because everything Lian did and worked for was to be worthy of Kuea, to be able to take care of him and to built a future and family with him. I've been thinking for awhile that Kuea might have created Kirin as a different persona in his head, embodying parts of him which Kuea can't freely show, indicating a mild form of dissociative identity disorder, which is often caused by childhood trauma (maybe it started when his grandfather died and he was robbed of saying goodbye to him because his family didn't want to worry Kuea). Kuea also seemed to spiral into depression in the last few episodes, if you think about it, the timeline is very short, everything in the last 10 episodes might seem long but basically happened in only 2 weeks, Kuea's life completely changed in that time, some of his biggest dreams and fears and revelations came true. And while I know Lian loves Kuea more than anything else I think he has some real issues with communication and how to verbalize his thoughts and feelings, on one hand he trusts Kuea and seems to create space for him so Kuea can do all the things he secretly loves but on the other hand Lian is keeping important matters a secret and he's not 100% truthful. He's older and financially far more richer than the Keeratis now, so he should know that he's the more powerful person in the relationship. He should always talk truthfully with Kuea and not keep any secrets, also not make the same mistakes like Kuea's parents did and try to protect Kuea, those are the things which only feed into Kuea's insecurities. One of his absolutely biggest mistakes imo was to tell Kuea that he doesn't love him in episode 1, whatever reasons and excuses he had in his mind, that triggered a lot of Kuea's biggest fear of being rejected by the man he loves more than the world. And now, Kuea is in this huge hall with Lian's parents and many guests and their friends, he's been a mess mentally and emotionally in the last days, and Lian's parents proudly (even if they mean well and are very supportive) tell everyone he's a Keerati (pressure) and the future spouse of their only super successful son (pressure+surprised and maybe homophobic reactions of guests) and that he's studying computer engineering (Kuea's lies). The Wangs have made it, from having nothing to building a huge empire and Kuea probably asks himself why even be proud of me, you don't even need a Keerati anymore, especially since it seems like my family's fortune and name is soon to be gone. And finally understanding that Lian knew everything and still accepted him, not saying anything even if Kuea made up a mountain of lies, his Lian now kneeling in front of god and everyone before him, promising him his heart, his soul, everything his family owns. Why? For someone so unworthy like Kuea? Kuea probably wants to die and be anywhere else right now but in this hall. Lian and Kuea are left deeply hurt and broken, I really hope they'll be able to talk things out and start mending their hearts and relationship together, slowly and walking together, trusting each other.
Thank you finally someone being realistic. I have said it and I will say it again lian words in the first episode was the biggest mistake he ever made . It was those exact word that will continue to haunt him for a long time in this relationship , kuea already felt inferior and undeserving and having the man he loves more than anything I mean literally his entire world his lian down to his stage name, his bike the password to his house is lian Id for god sake tell him that he doesn’t love him and that he doesn’t want to marry a doll (basically saying he lack human emotions) is the most hurtful thing he could have said not mention all the time he was hurtful just to get a reaction out of kuea. Like people failed to realize so much has happened in a matter of weeks for them though it may feel longer . They both should have been honest but neither of them has been their true self kuea with his personality and lian with what he really feels for kuea . And to be fair lian literally waited until kuea practically gave up on him and call off the engagement for him to say he loves him and to put in any effort . Like too little to late sometimes it is as simple as saying I love you no grand gesture needed just an I love you, the you I hope u will show me when your ready that’s it

This is a spectacular analysis! The fact that Lian doesn't see how Kuea is emotionally reacting to all this is proof that they are no where near the point where they should be getting engaged to each other. Kuea is so right in saying that Lian doesn't know him yet, maybe he knows about his secret hobbies, but Lian doesn't really know what makes Kuea tick if he can't recognize how all the insecurities, previous life traumas, and power imbalances in his life have made him feel. They definitely need to get to know each other emotionally, and Kuea can't even bring himself to talk about his music career. Major respect to the writers, they did a great job here, I only hope they spell out all of your points more bluntly in the next episode, because I see a lot of people are simply upset that Kuea didn't just accept.

Lian got the lesson he needed most, relationship = communication. Lian knew everything about Nu-Kuea from the start and thought he could 'fix' it all on his own. He never thought his actions to 'fix' Nu-Kuea could end up confusing Nu-Kuea even more. His actions are very questionable if we put ourselves in Nu-Kuea's shoes, knowing ONLY the things that Nu-Kuea knows. We as the audience understand and feel sorry for Hia-Lian, but it's because we know that he really loves and cares for Nu-Kuea. But if you're in a relationship and yes, you've made up lies about somethings in your life and later find out that your partner knew all along and just played along with you, you'd feel so pathetic just like how Nu-Kuea feels when Lian proposed. I think this episode is my favorite episode, especially this last part.

Communication and honesty is a two way street, when kuea came across something he didn’t like although it took him a while he confronted Lian . That’s the difference Not once did lian ever confront kuea . If I was kuea I wouldn’t have humiliated lian like that because he know how much he loves him however I would not have on such a big scale propose or marry someone that I know is lying to me , because there is obviously more discussion to be had and more trust and communication needs to be built before that happens
Don't blame lian for all mistakes, communication goes both ways.
Kuea is a liar too, and he can take the initiative to solve all misunderstandings with Lian (Lian is also waiting for the day he is willing to tell)

Literally, I couldn't believe it. I know that Hia was hiding the letters from Kuea, but he did it with good reason. Kuea has yet to say anything about who he really is. ;-;
Nu- Kuea's character is so complex and I love it. First he had insecurities because he looked upto Lian sooo much to the extent that he put up a pretence in front of him. Then when he and Lian finally opened up to each other , his family started facing financial troubles which triggered his insecurities again that he's not good enough for Lian.

I understand what Kuea was feeling; imagine all of that pressure of trying to be someone perfect for Hia Lian, followed by all the secrets and lies building up so much on his shoulders that it felt like Kuea was being pushed down like he was drowning and couldn't breathe that he had to run away.

When Lian dedicated that whole sweet song to Kuea my heart was melting with joy and cuteness but also thinking WHAT!! Lian can sing! And then the whole time when Lian kneeled on the ground to ask Kuea to marry him I was like Kuea don't say no and just say yes over and over again. When he said no my heart broke into a million pieces and I cried so hard! 💔 💔😭😭😭😭 I felt so bad for the both of them especially because Lian got the whole marriage proposal ready to do it in front of everybody and he gets rejected and now sad, heartbroken, confused all in one to the point where he can't hold it in and pretend everything is okay. 😤🥺😱😭😭

I LOVE how realistic the end of this episode was. When people are in a relationship they should be honest with each other, be each other's equals. That's how a relationship works. Kuea waited many days for Lian to tell it to him himself. But Hia lost the opportunity by not doing so. I like how Kuea suddenly didn't go heart eyes for Lian just because of an apology and a proposal, that wouldn't have been realistic. Instead he refused because he wasn't unsure and called out the problems in their relationship. It could be said that Kuea's rejection was an eye opener for Lian. Ofc they're the main leads, I'm sure they'll get together in the end. ( p.s. WE COULDN'T ESCAPE THE EPISODE 11 CURSE Y'ALL)

I partly don’t agree with u. Kuea didn’t reject the proposal because hia Lian. He did it because he himself is a lying n never had the courage to open up to hia himself. Exactly! I think this episode was the best one. If you don't feel comfortable living the life you actually want to live in front of your close ones, you are condemned to lifelong misery. It's not a red flag, it's a burning runway, it cannot be ignored and I'm so glad they actually pointed that out. Major major major respect for the writing, I'm impressed!

Before this surprise proposal that Lian never should have done, Kuea discovered that Lian keeps major things from him as well even when they concern Kuea directly (Kuea only kept very personal secrets that could never affect Lian's finances or life). Kuea also learns that Lian is also very much aware that Kuea doesn't feel comfortable sharing his genuine life with Lian, and yet, even so, even with this type of piss-poor relationship, Lian barrels through with a proposal. This is not the type of relationship Kuea wants, he's never wanted this, he told Lian from the start, " I want you to actually love me" which involves treating your partner as an equal and sharing with them the life you actually want to live. Lian never treats Kuea as an equal. There is a huge power imbalance here which is why Kuea doesn't feel comfortable at all :"why didn't you tell me, you're my fiance" shows that Kuea wants an equal, open relationship with Lian. Kuea has never wanted to just be taken care of by a sugar daddy, LOL

No puedo creer que Kuea lo rechazará, lloró terriblemente. Mis ojos no podían dejar de llorar y pronunciar un no, estaba bastante asustada por lo que pudiera pasar, las maldiciones del capítulo 11 siguen ahí, cuándo no se solucionó lo de las propiedades y no le dijo porque, dolió, y fue aún más fuerte cuando le mintió sobre dónde estaba. Lian casi entra en pánico cuando oyó a Kuea alzar la voz, además de preguntarle a su madre si confiaba en él, Kuea no regreso el abrazo, esa acción dejo un vacío en mí.
La voz de Lian era tan dulce y angelical, me cegó de tranquilamente y amor; pero su rostro, el rostro que hizo cuando Kuea lo rechazó me destrozó, me transmitió uno de los dolores más grandes de mi vida. Creo que jamás podré olvidar esta escena, admiro la forma en la que es parecido al libro, hicieron ligeras modificaciones pero muy bien administradas. Lo único que puedo asegurarle a mi corazón en este momento, es que seguirá doliendo una semana entera. Ánimo para todos nosotros.
Dolorosa pero necesario... Kuea tiene razón. Me siento mal por ambos pero si no arreglan sus vainas no podrán avanzar. Fue una presión para Kuea en si aceptar o no. En verdad no era el momento porque necesitan arreglar eso que no había. Confianza.
