New Jersey (SSN 796) Sea Trials

- Newport News Shipbuilding has successfully completed initial sea trials for Virginia-class submarine New Jersey (SSN 796). Testing included submerging the submarine for the first time and conducting high-speed maneuvers while on the surface and submerged. NNS teams will continue the testing program ahead of delivering the boat to the U.S. Navy. Watch this video to see New Jersey underway and to hear from NNS shipbuilders who helped bring the submarine to life.

Commissioning is to take place at the Naval Weapons Station Earle in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Unless the navy wants to pay to tow BB-62 up to Earle, it doesn’t look like we’ll be treated to such a biblical sight.
Born and raised NJ, now retired in Florida, but just wondering if they tax the sailors more then other boats, do they have toll hatches, do they have to pay to use the potty?

Australia is buying a few of those Virginia class subs … but these subs look a bit cramped. We like a lot of space, so I can’t imagine ours will be as cramped … I think we’ll need the subs with the spa bath, massage room and tiki bar (next to the Sip 'n Dip Lounge of course) … - Also, would it be asking too much for a back yard with a bit of grass to play a bit of cricket? Oh - and enough space for a BBQ and beer fridge? (We promise to clean the BBQ every day and mow the lawn every other week.)

Once upon a time, fast attack submarines weren't named after US States, only fish then later US Cities. When did this change? Asking for a friend.
