I always call Ray the Dickenson of Ditty cause of his complete psychological and sociological mastery of a three minute tune, but here he shows his full transcendent genius. Ray is far, far above the paltry genre of rock n roll.
I saw this at the Somerville Theatre outside of Boston when it first came out. Glad I got to see it again, I just didn't get it the first time. It was fun to see it on the big screen but I walked out of that theatre completely confused
I suppose having a lead who never speaks is bound to leave some open questions, but this film has some big ones. It's pretty clear that the guy found his daughter attractive, but was there more than just that? Is that why she left home? Does his wife know the answers to these questions? She seems to at least have suspicions. Then, is our man actually the Surrey sex offender on the posters, or is the resemblance just an unfortunate coincidence? These questions float over the whole story with no hint of real resolution. I don't really know what to think about all of it, or the film itself.
I have it exactly the same! But i think it just shows many suggestions of a bored commuter, day in day out life. Maybe some thought's of his lost daughter? Was he a secret pedofile? Was he just in a mid life crisis seeing a pretty girl? - It's great cos it makes us think & ponder - I think that's what a great film does! & makes this a great film!
I saw this as a teenager and it creeped me out, so I’m glad someone has mentioned the paedophile aspect of it. I was too young to fully understand the greater potential meaning as you’ve explained it, but I knew it creeped me out

Genius
Ken Colley ('The Traveller') was Admiral Piett in 'Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back'! Fantastic actor!

Could you explain it to me? I’m still not sure what exactly is going on. 😁
Thank you for posting this, I thought at the time, and still do, it's a masterpiece.
Thanks for uploading this! Brilliant!
Top film
Good one
That guy played the Russian general in FireFox with Clint Eastwood...
Who else watched this just because of cutie Tim Roth?
Adverts will be the death of You Tube...five doubles in the first 25 mins...disgraceful!!!
