    Love your video's! Especially that you post your entire flights. Fun to watch and very informative! I learned a bunch from you. Greetings from Amsterdam!

    Nice video, unfortunate for the crashed landing.
    For this glider, it is advice to setup the airbrake (mixing of full flaps + reversed ailerons) to effectively slow it down

  • @sergeantsilly5239
    @sergeantsilly5239 Год назад +3

    Very nice flight and scenery ! But why not use flaps or mix flaps and ailerons for butterfly landing for a short approach ?

    • @benznote2342
      @benznote2342  Год назад

      ah classic mistake "overconfident", never had this kind of experience with other models, you're right using flaperons should help, but for me I prefer to use more wide open space to land this one 🙂

      Yeah it is more fun to have a big field@@benznote2342 . I love doing a fast and low approach and just wait for the plane to slow down. Looks very cool

    All good, she'll fly another day. If you saw mine, it has fibreglass on the nose, on the fuselage behind the cockpit and on the tail.....🤣, She's heavy but she's still flying!😁

    Nice flight! For the landings I can recommend to programm crow-brakes, that really throws an anchor short before touchdown.

    What battery were you using that your got 37 minutes of flying time AND FPV? Cheers from the U.S., where I'm flying a Phoenix 2400. Love the plane!

    • @benznote2342
      @benznote2342  5 месяцев назад

      Hi, battery i use 4s 4800mAH, 37minutes was because only for maiden test, on papper if i calculate from how much she pull the amps on cruise (not mix flight) i can get one hours easy (with still have plenty of safety margin)

    No flaps?
    That would have helped you slow down.
    I have flaps and Crow setup on my ASW 17

    Why didn't you use the flaps? that would have slowed it down nicely. Even better, mix with a little up elevator to create an air brake. These big gliders are very floaty and just want to keep flying.

    • @benznote2342
      @benznote2342  3 года назад

      hi Duncan, yes! you were right, bassicaly i made a mistake because underestimating brake function :) but after this accident i make two another sucessfully landing with it (i just need very very long runway) :)

      Slip to landing might work. Use cross control with aileron and elevator.

    Whats the efficiency and flight time on these gliders? They look like they would float for ever?

    • @sergeantsilly5239
      @sergeantsilly5239 Год назад

      30-40 minutes of pulling up and gliding down again on a calm day are easily done on this glider using 3s 2200 mah lipos. Could stay up for hours if the weather is right

    i know this combination, efficient glider and restricted small landing zone. I run out of battery due to endless landing attempts. Need for perfect angle and speed at approach is out of my skill. Solution is airbrake - stay on slope and reduce speed with brake.

    • @benznote2342
      @benznote2342  3 года назад

      calm of wind make this landing more worst (no wind to make this glider to slowing down), so yeah no way i can make this work, now i have solution...find very long long runway :)

    It is a very nice glider, but hardly any spare parts, if you have a hard landing like this you will bend the aluminium spares, they are nowhere to be found. These spares are not a standard diameter, and are not available in the shops

      fog are not the most enemy to me...but the humidity are, because humidity too high (which always full a 100%) in here made the plane less efficient
