Finally! 😀 There's a reason why the sequencer from the keys is my favorite of all volcas. Flux is my favorite feature, when you bring down the tempo and set it to 1/4 You can get 128 step patterns with that feature, and adjust them the lenght that you want with active step
Great vid! Keys was my first synth, struggeled a lot with the sequencer at the start hahah! "Flux" let's you record "unquantized" into the seaquencer and thus u get 4 measure with 1/4 engaged. Keep it up man, greetings from Sweden!
I was lost trying to sequence on my Volca Bass at first, but downloaded a manual and learned how to manage the different settings with the function button. I still prefer to use my Monologue or SQ-64, but randomly throw in a 16 step sequence every now and then when I I don't feel like busting out more equipment.
The StepSequencer is also very useful for recording cords. The Flux mode enables realtime sound generation in On mode. When the Flux mode is off, the sequence is quantized.
This is really incredible! I actually started watching your videos because I got a Volca Keys and tried to find tutorials for the sequencer! Talk about unsuspecting that you after all these years would make another video about it! If you make a more complete manual/instruction I will LITERALLY send you money!:D I have pretty much given up on sequencing on the Keys. I can play something, record it, and when I play it back it doesn’t at all behave how I played it. Plus the memories are hard to work with making full songs.
Flux and 1/4 mode sort-of does that, if your playing is on point enough to not need quantisation (or you're offloading from a keystep or something) and you don't mind losing active step mode or having each key toggle four steps.
I love my Keys and thanx 2U for value it! 🙏 BUT ... I've seen your videos where you drive the Volca Keys with the Keystep (not the 37! just the base one) and I've NEVER been able to use the sequencer and the arpeggiator on board the Arturia controller. How should I do?! can you help me? I can play it but NOT sync it for 'arp' and 'seq'. I also used Arturia's Midi software but I wasn't able to. Do I skip any steps? Thanks in advance.
@@FreeBeat Got it !!! I found the solution, when you wrote "set on the back" I went to try the mini-switches and I had set them to Midi, instead I tried "internal" and now it's great! Thanks so much for the tip!! :-) You have a new subscriber!

Damn, I gotta learn what those mean, it sounds good.
“I have no idea what flux does” does exactly what you were trying to do. Lol.

Came here to say this.
@@koalemos1679 ditto, just checked the "manual"

Monologue has the BEST sequencer even though it's limited to 16
Love it! It was my first modern synth where I began to learn how synths work. Nowadays I do pretty much everything with a Synthstrom Deluge.
Super Thanks!
This is gold, thank you man
Thanks for watching!
thanks for this, I was struggling with the keys sequencer for my Friday night jam, and ended up putting back on the shelf... I'll go and play now!
Have fun!
I love the volca sample cause it hella easy to use out of all them
as someone who is struggling with the Volca modular sequencer as well, I'll reccomend consulting the manual

Very nice Video!
Thank you!
it wouldve been nice if the sequencer can get to 32 steps
im still waiting for a software mod for that
Or a chain mode

128 steps in flux mode

Anyone knows if is possibile to play free notes on a running sequence? Thanx

What are your dipswitches set to in the back?

Can you chain sequences together? How many steps do u get?
Make a video: How to tune in 432 Hz and other HZ sound?
Some times the distructions will help!!
So it's not a step sequencer only a live played sequencer
