I found this video about six months ago and have been doing that one stretch each day since. Goodbye runners knee, good day running 3 times a week with no issues. Amazing.
I have had knee pain for almost a year. I have tried every kind on stretch and exercise to help reduce or eliminate it. This one stretch that Dan showed has virtually eliminated my pain in two weeks. Thank you so much for having him on your video.

Having been unable to walk properly for a week and having been unable to sleep last night from the pain in my outside knee, I tried this stretch exercise this morning right after watching this and it literally cured it within 10 minutes. Now I am walking pain free with no problem. I am going to do this and the wall stretch daily for a while, then just a couple of times a week. Thank God for these two great guys and for RUclips! I just cant believe how a simple stretch like this can take you from agony to total mobility in a few minutes!

I want to thank Dan so much for showing this stretch. I was shocked as to how quickly this simple stretch made walking more pain free. I have one knee that's had 3 torn ligaments, an ACL replacement and a meniscus repair all done more than 15 years ago. The surgeon cut part of one of the tendons behind the knee to make a ligament for the ACL, and there's times that tendon gets very sore and the knee in general isn't all that flexible and aches. Periods of time things have been good enough over the years, but it flairs up once in awhile like it was when I stumbled across this video. Immediately after doing this stretch for a minute, with barely any stretch feeling in the glute, I got up and immediately felt less pain in the tendon. I've been doing this stretch once a day for a week now and can bend me knee much farther now...much more flexibility and much less internal pain. It makes no sense to me how it works, but dang I'm grateful you dropped by here and showed this!

I've been having this nagging pain on my right knee for at least 6 months, never in the same area, on the inside of the knee, outside, top of the kneecap. Did the usual, ice, heat and stretching. Never had an issue with pain during exercise which was strange because pain is usually associated with the workout, mostly cycling, some running and light weights. Anyways, I never performed this specific stretch until I viewed this video and man I cannot believe I've been suffering all these months to have everything resolve with one simple stretch. Pain went away in ONE DAY !!! I continue to do the stretch everyday and some of the other IT band stretches Bob and Brad have on their channel AMAZING!! Thank you guys.

Hi Guys. I’m 61 and started having knee pain 5 months ago after walking my hubby’s 100 lb lab up a Hill. She pulled me up the hill and Im 5’ tall. I had lots of pain the days to follow. It would come and go. I’m doing Pilates now and my knees feel pretty good during Pilates. I’m going to start this stretch daily and let you know of changes. I’m also having swelling in mostly my outer left knee, usually in the evenings. Doc thinks I have a slightly torn meniscus. Thanks and I’ll let you know how this goes!!!
I was having similar pain to Dan when running and then also when walking. I did the stretch that Dan showed and 3 weeks later my pain is gone and I can walk again pain free. I've been on 1 hour, 2 hour walks recently and no pain at all. Did the stretch in the same way Dan did it, once a day, every day for a couple weeks (all while NOT going on walks/runs during those couple weeks) and I'm fine now. Haven't tried going on a run yet but long walks aren't causing me issues. Thank you for the video!
I keep finding great and useful advise here , you have helped me address my knees and after an X-ray yesterday I see the kneecap has a spur that is rubbing . A shot helped and now on to more stretching and exercises .. thanks guys!
To add to this - I developed ITBS 6 weeks ago and have just started doing this stretch (twice daily) for the past 4 days and I'm making it further down the hill without knee pain each day. Definitely worth doing.
To the best of my knowledge, in Yoga it is called VAKRASAN, intended to tide over diabetes as it stimulates the pancreas; but having seen Mr. Dan performing this exercise and as he reaped rich dividends after performing it for knee pain, we can emulate him, thanks a lot.
I have both knee and hip pain, with the hip pain running down the front and side of the thigh. I recently started the hip flexor stretches you showed in another video, which include this stretch, and had one morning a few days ago where I got up and neither my knee or hip hurt at all. But I think I overdid the stretches that day because later that day the pain came back with a vengeance. I plan to continue the stretches, but not as aggressively. Looking forward to being able to walk normally and hopefully start running.

When I was little biking really hurt my knees! Now I go to college and ride my bike to class and it’s fine. Maybe it’s from watching other Bob and Brad videos!
Placing my hand on my knee produced pain.....If that is true for you, note this is the "Gluteal Stretch" in "End Everyday Pain for 50+", the hands are placed behind the knee in the stretch. But, based on this, I decided to include this stretch in my daily stretches. Thanks!
How about if the knee pain due to a tear in the lateral meniscus already as seen in the MRI of my knee? Will these methods u showed applicable? I was advised that this should be surgery but it can wait. I was actually diagnosed since feb 2022 and it is already july 2022
What was the gentleman's original diagnosis that this one stretch got him back running again? Was it iliotibial band syndrome, chondromalacia, patellar tendonitis, or something else? I will add the stretch to my therapy and hope for a similar dramatic improvement.

I watch your videos regularly, where I have noticed that everything explained on the basis of symptoms that one is facing. But that can be misleading. So, can you explain little bit using MRI reports a little bit because people like me can't understand the medical terms completely but I can refer those sometimes. Thanks

This sounds so familiar. I'm 31 and have stopped running for nearly 2 years. I'm a triathlete so cycling should have helped but it hurts to cycle too. If its raining and I have to run to the shop or cross the road when a car is coming I cant because it hurts my knee too much! I've been to 5 physios, so much dry needling and I had prp injections. I do my stretches everyday. It's really frustrating that I cant train or race anymore. 😭
No ma'am prp causes infection now u should do mri I think so ligament and mensicus I also had surgery but now I am ok after 7 months u can check my video
My hamstring flexibility is a slow progression but I have recently added the last one you demonstrated (supine hip flexion for hamstring) I use my husband’s belt and it works well. Thanks for all your help Docs!

I've used a regular belt for a loop with the hurdlers stretch!

I tried the strap thing for both my hamstrings and it band using just a long rope or even a jump rope wrapped once around my foot. It was great!
