Morissette Amon here is much younger her maybe 17 yrs. old she's already great, have powerful voice the fact that the video quality is not good... back then Morissette is already a performer so I didn't expect her to micmic or copy any Artist/Singer the way they sang their song, she has his own way to sing a song/cover for me she's one of the Best Interpreter I've ever seen 😍💗👏 Thanks

In more recent years? They're totally fine. She has plenty of agility and control, and they're placed beautifully to make musical sense and flow so naturally with the rest of the song. She will never be a vocalist who leans on them heavily, but I actually prefer that about her style.

Are your statements above your own personal opinion after listening to those videos? If it is then I’ll just leave it at that as anyone can have their say - whether I agree to them or not. I’m not saying Morissette is not immune to rare and occasional “hiccups” (I.e., pitch), all great vocalists do - especially Morissette who performs mostly live performances, naturally and whether under the weather or not. Do you remember her performance of “Power” during Miss Universe Philippines just several months ago in 2022? The vocals were executed perfectly and powerful, but there was the brief moment a note was amiss and pointed out not just myself but a few others voice coaches I follow. Even Morissette herself knew the flaw, albeit hardly noticeable to most, hence later and eventually performed the song again recorded live in her home studio and that flat note corrected. With such vast vocal range, including her unbelievable low tones. Her agility with that vocal range and her versatile, immense on stage performance acumen, etc., just makes her above everyone, in my personal opinion anyway.

I’m old enough to realize and know quickly. But as I said I have a large collection of voice coaches on my list I frequently listen to. Make this clear, I make my own critique and I collect as much data from everyone to add to mine, so I don’t exclusively use just coaches. Many more are professional singers and just viewers in general that have good sense in evaluating singers. Finally I strongly disagree with your statement you made about Nori l’s runs are not the best. That is clear and strong statement and you are an experience singer (choir) you said, so I’ll give you that and respect that. I want to know how many videos have you seen of Morissette and what songs and when performed because those are very important to judge and base your opinions. I myself have viewed hundreds of videos of her in various setting and performances. She is the most diverse vocalist I’ve ever known and of course the best in this generation, which is why many around the world have considered her a generational talent. You don’t get those feedbacks if you are not great and near perfect with your “runs”. For god sakes I can’t help but think you are so limited with knowledge about Morissette. Lastly, I respect your opinion on her as I do with everyone whether I agree or not with them. So I’ll just keep it at that. It's actually okay to point out her little mistake on her runs since Morissette herself admitted that agility (riffs and runs) is not her forte and she is still in progress on improving it, also this performance is from few years back so this is the time that her runs and riffs are still sloppy.
I think she is pretty good with them. It happens that sometimes singers lose control for many reasons. But I really loved them for most of the performances that I heard of her so yeah :D

Dear Fashion Blank - I’ve always admired your reactions to singers and especially Morissette. You are inclined to voice your thoughts about the video you have seen, just as other past videos you’ve reacted. BUT please keep in mind - and I say this because I’ve observed it from time to time from reactors - that what you see and reacting to may not necessarily be the best to watch and listen to. Personally, this video doesn’t have the best visual and audio display and from I’ve heard it sounded distorted and of average quality. I’m not saying you’re not correct in your comments with her vocals in some parts of the song (and it seems you know this song well and expected or hoping to have Morissette bring out some vocal expectations you had prior to watching the performance of this video. As one commentator, there’s a few other videos to which Morissette sang this song that far exceeded the quality of this one. Also, and you should know this by now - I think - whenever Morissette sings a song, it’s likely she’ll vary it with some small changes though subtle. Also, as masterful as she is vocally, she on very rare times does display that she can be human at times 🤗., especially since she performs LIVE most of the time. I think you may have seen her live performance of the song “Power” during Miss Universe Philippines last year, when every second of the song was perfectly done until the end where there was a slight moment her voice sounded oh so flat. From that Morissette I’m sure realized that and likely what prompted her to create a video (“Power First Take Morissette) with her singing the same sone to correct that part of the song that she felt missed to her standards and just wanted to make sure her fans and admirers would hear too.

I think the reason why her runs after the whistle is sloppy due to her mental preparation went all to the whistle because as a singer myself (but not professionally) we keep preparing ourselves for difficult notes that we will be executing which in Mori's case that her mind was so focused in the whistle part more than the runs after that.
not really a big mori fan, but i have to say that i appreciate the extreme change up at the climax of the song, tbh. no one will ever sing any classic song by any beloved singer "exactly like x, y, or z epic singer did", so i personally cannot fault someone for paying their respects to the original & sticking true to it most of the way through, as its an excellent song, not needing anything different to be excellent, y'know? but she changed it up & did it in an extreme fashion, & most importantly, *she nailed it* like i said, i'm but a huge fan of mori, much more a katrina velarde kinda person, but it's obvious both are excellent vocalists & i have to applaud mori here.
