This song holds a special place in my heart as it was the one that turned me into a fan of MP. Even after all these years since I first heard it back in 2013, the emotions it evokes never seem to fade. Every time I listen to it, I'm comforted by its poignant sadness, like a warm blanket on a cold day. The song is not a part of my daily playlist, but whenever I come across it, it takes me back to the same emotions I felt the first time I heard it. There's a sense of familiarity and comfort in its melody and lyrics that make me feel like everything's going to be okay, even if just for a moment.

I saw mayday for the tenth anniversary of A Lesson In Romantics and it was magical. They played the whole album front to back, and everyone in the venue was screaming every word. You could literally feel how much that album and this band meant to everyone in that venue.
10 years ago I used to post this video on my facebook whenever my crush was online and subtlety dedicate it to her.
So many regrets.
I really feel sad for this song. For me it's like couples who deeply love each other but had a very deep conflict as well. Like one of them thought it has already ended, when in fact the other one is still trying to fix it. But upon realizing all the efforts and sacrifices, it's too late already. Just like how this animated video has ended. I don't know who hurt Mayday Parade before, but almost all of their songs are giving me extreme heart ache. And I love it.

The guitars in this song never fail to amaze me. They actually work with the vocals and contribute to the emotion of the song. Pierce the Veil is another good example of this.
Its 2024 and we still flock to this song and many others, in time of struggle. Remember you do have the strength.
We just started releasing our own music at the beginning of this year. I know that Mayday Parade may not see this but I truly wanted to go around and express just how much you guys have influenced my music and passion. Thank you guys for all that you do and all those you've touched along the way! Keep rocking and inspiring the masses. When I watch the video, all I can think is that it's a perfect representation (for me) of depression, based on what I've seen in life. My aunt has SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and I remember when she first started medication (which is how I see Derek's "death " in the video). Originally, it seemed to solve the problem. She got so much better so quickly, it was like magic. Then, she started having strange mood swings (The emergence of the men in suits). She would be ecstatic one moment, angry the next, sad, then happy. She got so irrationally angry at times that I couldn't bear to be around her. I had lived with her for years, but I, as well as much of my family, began to draw away. She is an amazing woman, but I feel like who she was before the medication is like the woman who jumps off of the cliff in the video. She's gone now that my aunt has gotten so dependant on her medication.
None of this is to say that medication for depression, SAD, etc. is bad or that it never works, because this is just my aunt's journey with it. I know other people who've had depression and got medication and it works like a miracle, and has continued to work. I just thought that this video (not so much the music) is an almost perfect representation of her story.
Five years later and I'm still listening to ease the same broke heart.
