Thank you - I appreciate the demonstration of grading to size. I find when I pick up patterns, I need different sizes to accommodate, bust, waist and hips, so this demo is great.
Thank you Brittany! I get so lost with adjusting patterns because I’m like you large bust and xl hips. This was so helpful and I feel like I may give this one a try! 🤗
Brittney I wAs Jumping up and down when I logged on to my favorite love to see podcast and saw you ( one of my favorite you tubers) was getting interviewed!!!!! YYYYYAAAAASSSSS!!!!
you are going to look so Great in this. I love all the time you take to prepare for a garment, it seems to be the most inmportant step to a successful project, thanks for shareing
I love your prep videos as well as your sew along videos. This video makes me want to try the jumper, knowing how to Grade through all three sizes! God bless and keep the videos coming ❤️
Hip curve ruler?! That's genius. I'm up here in Canada still messin' around with a French curve! And no wonder everything I make is ill-fitting. I'm tall and like you, 3 different sizes and widest at hips. Maybe I'll try again to make something that fits, now that I've found your channel. So thank you Brittany and hello to you as well! Do you think the invisible zipper part, etc., of this pattern would be too hard for a beginner+ to try?
Carol Claiborne Mumey you’re welcome and I think it’s doable! This is easier than most because you don’t have to worry about matching a waistline seam over the zipper! I installed it today and it was really easy so I hope a beginner will be able to follow along with me in the video❤️
Great video - especially for beginners. A word of caution with the Frixion pens - only since you said that they were new to you. I know many are fans of the pens. However, if you go to the Frixion website, they clearly state that these were not made to be fabric markers. Although the heat of the iron makes the marks disappear, the ink is still in the fabric and can reappear - either as a soft brown line over time, or will reappear significantly if the fabric gets cold. I recommend only using those where the line will be cut away and use a more traditional marking tool for other places on the garment.
Can I still make the hip adjustment if I only have a French curve or should I purchase the hip curve? This was awesome. I was originally going to just cut in-between the line so glad I found you first.
I'm getting ready to begin this jumpsuit, yippee! But I just finished my first dress from mcalls learn to sew pattern and my armhole and neckline are pretty big. So now I'm nervous about sizing with this pattern.....do you have any suggestions on how to check the pattern sizing?? I did go off my measurements and even added some at my hip line (which turned out great!) Any comments much appreciated!
are you going to do a muslin? I've got a jumpsuit pattern, which will also include grading, and I'm a little worried about not trying out a muslin first
I’d recommend doing one, however I’m gonna walk on the wild side and just sew it!! I’ll let you know if I failed horribly on Friday! But again if you’re worried, do a quick muslin to be safe❤️
Love this pattern! I have it too and am looking forward to using it. The Frixion pens (i believe it's pronounced "friction") are GREAT!! Just be sure to test them out before you mark your fabric. I've only had a little problem with using them on silk fabric.
Thanks for the Pattern preview!! Looking forward to the sew along!!!! No worries....visiting with your family is very important, they come first!!!!!!! Take care & God Bless the whole family. (I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO HOT FOR THEM OUT HERE IN S.D., RIGHT NOW.)
Thank you so much for this. I look forward to the sew along. Do you have any tips for shortening the upper front through the armscye? I normally have to do this or the sleeve width will be gigantic and the bottom of the v will be too low since I have a really high bust. I sometimes have to make the same adjustment at the back but removing less length. Unfortunately, patterns rarely include a shorten / lengthen line through the armscye. Also, I normally have to add length of 1/2" to 3/4" to the centre back crotch on pants but not at the sides and I have to shorten the front crotch curve on pants about 1/2" but not at the sides. I'm not sure how to determine how much length to add and remove for these types of adjustments for grown on sleeves and a jumpsuit.
@@candaceweyant6574 hey. Yes you can shorten it. I found a video you can use as reference to shorten the bottom of a zipper: ruclips.net/video/K-RxvXSmDtg/видео.htmlsi=Iwv05LYb0Fnloz-Z
I will look forward to your next video. I love those frixion pens, I’ve had no trouble on cotton or linen, but I noticed in the polyester knit I was just working on that it faded, but left the mark in white (so the inside of my sleeve has a teeny note that says ‘BACK’ in white, lol) Maybe it will fade when knit it again... but test it!
Help! If I need to grade from L to XL in the hips like you, how do I do that on the back since there are no waistline/hip line indicators on piece 2 like there is on piece 1?
Great explanation. I'm surprised though you didn't mention anything about the length from the back neckline to the crotch. I'm always afraid of jumpsuits because a lot of times it's baggy in the crotch. Looking forward to the sew along. Thanks you're super!
Vicky Lambert LoL I don’t! I love linen and all the wrinkles that comes with it. ❤️ Maybe someone else has a trick for you, but I just let Linen do what it’s gonna do!
Thank you Brittany! You have given me so much inspiration and fabulous sewing ideas! Can't wait for the next video 💕
You are a very good teacher. Love your videos! Enjoy your family time
Thank you for the demo on marking. That is the clearest explanation I have ever seen
I look forward to the next videos. Thank you for the sew along! You inspire me to sew more😛
Thanks for showing that demonstration of grading👍🏾

Thankyou you do an excellent job of explaining and showing how to go about making this pattern!!
I have three different sizes for bust waist and hip 16/18/20 these days so I found this so useful! Thank you for sharing

Any idea when the sew along for this will be up? I look forward to trying this piece!
Andrea Mugny yes, I’ll upload it this Friday! I apologize for not mentioning that🤦🏽♀️❤️
Happy you are enjoying your Summer! 💙💙💙
It’s Jumpsuit time! I’m so excited 😆
Yay! Jumpsuit time!
Good points. This was very helpful.

Hi Brittany, missed you and I understand. I had my grandchildren and we stayed busy. Love the pattern.
Can't wait to see this make. I have this one in my stash but haven't made it yet
I love your videos
I have that pattern!! LOL! Time to make a trip to Joann's!
Thanks for the grading tip, fit is the biggest problem that I have (full bust on small shoulders). I will be buying this pattern!

Thank you so much!
Love your preview videos!
are you going to do a muslin? I've got a jumpsuit pattern, which will also include grading, and I'm a little worried about not trying out a muslin first
my last pattern was a jumpsuit, I didn't muslin, big mistake. I will find some cheap fabric to try this out first

So the measurements on the pattern is the finish garment?
FYI. Little kids washable markers work nicely for fabric marking.

I have that pattern somewhere. Might have to join in this sew along
Yay! That would be awesome!
Have this pattern, I’m sewing along with you.
I'm just getting into garment making. Do you wash and press your fabric before you cut it?
Yes I do! I like to prewash to rinse away any dyes, germs, and also to get the shrinkage out.
Hey @brittany can you share the link. Or tell me the name of the marking pens from Amazon.. thank's in advance love
Question about linen, Ladies....do you drive? How do you keep your linen looking ironed throughout the day?
Vicky Lambert LoL I don’t! I love linen and all the wrinkles that comes with it. ❤️ Maybe someone else has a trick for you, but I just let Linen do what it’s gonna do!
Lol! Love it!
Whoops didn't realize how recent this video is.
The lady in red!
My small rotary cutter is missing!
Is misses considered women's?
I don’t know how to use those curved rulers.🧚🏿♀️
