    I've had Speedy's Pocket Voltex V5 controller for a while and the thing has been an absolute trooper, with an incredibly durable case and easily repairable parts (hey, sometimes you really smash the hell out of those keys). I've been looking forward to this for a while and I'm glad to see his entry into fight game controllers is just as solid as his rhythm games one.

      Yeah, I think it will go that way here within a couple of years. I actually think Rectangle Corner was talking about something like that in one of their future iterations, but IDK. Still, you can kind of feel it coming down the road. Thanks for watching!

      I found a couple Macho Man Slim Jim images I liked, and then just contacted "hugs_n_giggles" on Twitter. His handle is in the vid description. Then, I just told him to align the OLED screen with his hat text and he knocked out a couple samples within a few days. All priced very reasonably too. He could easily do something similar for an S16 if this strikes your fancy. Thank you for watching, dude!

  • @Tanookz

    Looks very cool, aluminum build is awesome, but not a fan of the button spacing. Should have used the larger 28mm caps all around.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  4 месяца назад

      I think this one is more geared as the Speedy Labs take on a more premium Micro and I think the JFA caps are 21mm in diameter, so SL may have chosen to keep it similar to that. But yeah, if they ever increased the size of the footprint to something like Haute42 T16 or even a Micro XL, then they could probably tailor that one toward larger caps to good effect. Thank you for watching!

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  4 месяца назад +3

      What about the Snack Box Micro is more appealing in your eyes? And what about factoring in the price? (At the end of the day, everything is all just personal preference, but I'm genuinely curious to hear your take.) Thank you for watching and engaging!

    • @zebr
      @zebr 4 месяца назад

      @@HushMySweet1 For sure just preference! Not sure how to explain it, but I like how it feels and I like the build quality of the snackbox and also I don't like to change controllers often even if it were VERY similar. Thanks for making the awesome videos. Your videos is what got me into getting a leverless!

    • @zebr
      @zebr 4 месяца назад

      oh forgot to mention the price - I am okay with investing in something if I am going to get the mileage out of it - and boy have I gotten the mileage out of it. I am mainly a PC player, but it's good to know I am safe to take this to a local to play on a PS5 since it's build in and I don't have to worry about a dongle. That part really is worth a lot to me even if it's minor in a way.

    • @SoundToxin
      @SoundToxin 4 месяца назад

      @@zebr The nice thing about GP2040-CE's dongle approach is that it uses an extra port, it doesn't go in between the console and controller. Meaning someone can pass you the end of a USB-C cable that's already plugged into the console and you can just plug in and go. You don't need to redo everything with an adapter in the middle like you would with a Brook adapter. You can also leave the dongle in all the time and it doesn't mess up normal PC usage. It doesn't make it show up like a PS5 controller on your PC or anything weird even. The MagicBoots at least is super small. If these controllers were a little thicker you could just store the dongle on the inside somewhere, as we've seen with some arcade stick builds on this channel.

    It's decent as a controller.....the Randy savage artwork helped it's appeal alot to me personally.
    On a side note...whenever I see artwork for controllers like these I always wonder if the future is going to have button layouts on LED screen surfaces like that of phones/tv's/tabs....the freedom in terms of customising ones layout surface would be limitless then...one can only hope to see this come to fruition in the near future I guess. I hope I get to see it if it happens

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, the LED button layout is a cool idea. It would be great for customization, but I think a lot of people would miss the tactile sensation of pressing the button and feeling it click and return, or whatever. I looked at a really interesting controller that JAMSTA built a long time back called the Locus Solus. It used sensors to trigger the inputs, so was really wild and novel. But there was no finger feedback when it came to a press, so it was an interesting experience to play on. Check out that vid and let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!

    • @3rdworldgwaming467
      @3rdworldgwaming467 4 месяца назад

      @@HushMySweet1 Oh no...u misunderstood me. I did not mean the buttons. I meant only for the front surface area to be made of LED with the accommodation of holes so that tactile buttons are still used....cos ur 100% right about the appeal of pressing the buttons. I'm definitely gonna check out the JAMSTA built u suggested, thanks. Take care & best of luck

    Speedypotato released the same product (better form factor and portability imo) and includes a decent carry case for almost 200$ less than razer and its built like a tank. Even with the playstation dongle its still 150$ cheaper

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, this thing goes hard. I feel like it's a cross between the Kitsune and the Micro, but at a much cheaper price point. Really solid device that punches above its weight in terms of value.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  4 месяца назад +1

      It does, but only slightly. I think these ones (all but the jump function) were 20 mm. And then I believe the Micro ones are 21 mm in diameter. So, pretty comparable all things considered.

      There are several different SOCD cleaning modes out of the box. Like most of these GP2040-CE based devices, they come with an instruction manual, and it outlines several options. You just have to press certain button combinations on start up. Good luck!

      @@HushMySweet1 I think a GP2040-CE Advanced Breakout Board w/ USB Passthrough + MagicBoots for PS5 would also do the trick, right? Can get one on Etsy. If the old stick has a similar encoder board inside and you swap the wiring over. Have not tried it myself, though.

      I had this convo with my friend, but he ultimately went with the Snackbox because he didn't want to mess around with an online configurator tool. I'm a huge fan of GP2040-CE but I can imagine the steps needed to get into the web configurator and doing updates might be a turn-off to some.
