omg this reminded me of myself so much cause i'm literally a high school dropout at the moment 😭😭 my mental health has been a hot mess ever since covid, i still couldn't believe i got into high school in the first place. but then when I started high school i was skipping left and right, i even ended up skipping an entire MONTH of school. eventually i told my mom that i wanted to drop out cause it was just, not working for me in the slightest. my mom agreed cause she also saw that high school was not it for me, and so we decided for me to go through life by another route. so right now i'm just sitting on my ass all day lmao

omg not us having a very similar story...starting in 10th grade going to 11th my several mental illnesses and being suzy side all and having undiagnosed autism was just fucking me UP i started ditching daily on days i would go and many days i couldn't even get out of bed at all so i was basically never there. somehow the school never did anything about it though?? idk how cuz i must've missed....well over 100 days of school but never once did my aunt get a call about it lol guess i got lucky maybe they felt bad punishing the anti social depressed girl lmfao. i dropped out in 11th after a stay in the grippy socks place and missed 12th completely and figured id go back to school but a much smaller alternative one since the size of most high schools and the amount of people sends me into a panic. hated the alternative one tho lmfao only didn't ditch because the school and my family made it impossible and eventually dropped out of there too and also settled on getting my GED! which i barely got because my disorders make it so damn hard to study or do school work lol but at least i got it done. probably will never go to college though since my issues have multiplied and gotten much more severe so rip to that
;-; I skipped a class once in 12th grade. My counselor and a social worker caught me. So I didn't skip again. I was nervous and it was homeroom. It was boring. I fucking hate school. Always will. My family keeps on telling me to go to college or whatever. Fuck no. I'm antisocial. People say I'm autistic and bipolar. If I went to college rn, I'd get expelled lmaoooo. I have anger issues. I yell, cry, throw things, break things and hurt people before. People would fear me but even better. Fuck bullies, homework, talking to people and being around people. I'm glad that no one's forcing me to study. Or work or drive. Work is like school. I'm scared of driving and I failed the test four times. I was super close to passing. I failed it in school. My teacher didn't tell me when I had to do the test. She didn't give me the book. All I did was finish high school. 🥰
I never got kicked out but I missed 70 days due to throwing up in the mornings. They never tried to micromanage me and physically try and escort me to school. Nah. They straight up threatened the arrest of my mother. So I fought and fought with all my energy and still ended up with one D while putting my all into every individual class. I gave up after that, only tried in the class I ever excelled in (English). I knew public school just wasn't gonna work for me, so I tried an early college program to complete my high school credits but I shared a room the size of a rich person's closet with my mom so I could never study or be alone and my only transportation was via public bus which took an hour so my available time to complete homework (half of all class assignments and work). It was the worst time of my life and when I finally dropped out I got my GED and am free. Though finding work is hard in areas where only certain work is available. Right now I'm a cook and a barista 😌 it's all easier than public school. Looking back at it now, it wasn't probable for someone who /lacked/ stability. Who didn't have proper support from the get go, or anything a kid needs (being trans can cause so much internal AND external conflict. Which was my case). When I was enrolled into a school that was just one big mass of kids ruling mostly everything and every class is just a teacher fighting for the majority to be quiet: it's like fighting to learn. Even the strict teacher who was a literal coach wouldn't help me because her nose was so far up her favorite students ass while doing important assignments that I had to ask every teacher aid in the room. And every single ones help gave me the wrong answer, I remember crying on some of my first days of high school in that situation because unfinished work equals homework and as someone with no structure or empathy at home and ADHD that homework will never be done, I never studied or did homework at home all of it was done when i was on school grounds even during lunches, before and sometimes after school.
