Cool did not know you had a you tube channel will be watching for you to have more content
thanks for the in depth look at a 959 nitrous motor
Don't be so hard on your wife. She is just trying to help and promise you couldn't do it without her support your definitely one lucky man.
Glad I’m not the only one thinking that!
@@sixoid4104 We men sometimes take for granted what our partner puts up with I find myself doing it also.
She’s a keeper.
I think that is so FKN awesome that your wife isn't only out in the shop doing odds and ends to the car but she is actually literally hands deep in there helping get the engine back together for the first fire up after the new set of rods were put in the engine and I just think that is awesome because most of the time most wives would be out in the shop cheering you on to get the engine back together at the most and they would be crying if they broke a nail or got their hands dirty
She tunes it as well!
"... let's get these pistons out !"
YES, KELLY BACK IN ACTION, SO COOL 😎 👍. I MISSED YOU LAST YEAR FOR NO PREP. Kelly is legendary and cool, keep up the good work!!!
Awesome job!
The Fabrication, Engineering, and Design of these Engines are Amazing and the Shere dimensions and size of the port's, Heads , And everything else is such a education of what's involved .
Thankyou Guy's
I love listening to couples who are true team players. They bicker back and forth but will get er done better than ever. The best team mates that I've ever met are the ones who've been together for multiple years, two peas in a pod! A couple like this is rare and special, always appreciate what you've got!!!
I like the new GTO looks really good 👍
New subscriber here! Excellent video. Wish you well this year!!
Kelly your ride is so beautiful, this is going to be a fan favorite! good luck this season.
Good job Kelly
Great job Kelly.Nice tool to keep the crank clean.
Kelly, it's so funny, I'm listening to your video and hear this heavy clank clank and look up and noticed the 959 pushrods. Man, those things are huge, full inch lead pipes, or construction rebar for pushrods, so huge. Kelly probably has that problem with the ladies cause he's so gangster, yeah 👍
Man that’s awesome
I wish you the best of luck this year. I don’t know you but I’ve always pulled for you. I feel like your probably the most humble driver out there. Your wife is great too. She’s such great help and knowledgeable. Your blessed to have wife, best friend, race partner and cook all in one. Lol 😇😇🙏🏻
Man, I could only imagine a pro charger on that 959. Man you'd be uncatchable. Just a thought. Kelly you your wife are awesome together. Just consider a pro charger on that motor. You'd go straight to the top just saying . Much love n respect . From Arizona.
Looking good guys, good luck this coming season. Like the car, looks pretty sharp. Thanks
Love the car man
This stuff is so interesting to me
Man! What an awesome angry idle. Wish I could hear it up close. Good stuff!
Good camera work. The car and the engine look good 👍 🏁
Holy Crap!!!
I really enjoyed your video.
Thank you. Definitely learned from
Both of you.
Them boys were pressing their luck
Hell yea
An in the car freshen up.
I wish I could do that on my car 😞
Badass pit crew 💯💯💯 NITROUS 🥂🥂
Good stuff
Team
Thats one nasty Judge you got there!! Good luck Kelly :)
Makes me appreciate the savings I have running a "540 BBC, lol. I'll never complain about the cost again!
As a car guy from the 50s, I can't wait. 959 and nitrous? Wow.
looks and sounds good ,,, was wondering what you been up to seen some vid,s of you before ,,, then poof nothing more good ta see you again >👍
It’s been a long road putting the car back together. We will be working on putting out more consistent content.
looking good
Never knew those big dogs ran w/o intake gaskets. Did you see the size of them pushrods! (sub'd)
You should most definitely switch the front gear driven distributor over to coil on plug not only to give you better individual cylinder tuning but them front gear driven distributors are known to jump timing and can cause you to blow up the engine especially on them big cubic inch engines but I'm sure you know that already just ask Justin Swanstrom he had trouble with that when he was running them big cubic inch nitrous engines until he switched over to coil on plug then he started having a better handle on tuning the engine but when he built his last car to run NPK is when he switched combinations over to the Hemi like most of the top guys in the field and when the Procharged Hemi combo's kept getting hit with extra weight he decided to switch over to the screw blown Hemi combo and I'm not saying you can't run up front with the big cubic inch nitrous engines because obviously Kye Kelly did it for the past couple years and the only one that stayed tried and true to the same combo is the Champion of NPK for the past few years Ryan Martin because from what I've heard so far even Kye Kelly is switching over to a screw blown Hemi engine this coming year season 6 of NPK
great content
Damn!
I would love to see what that big old beast would do with with a twin screw supercharger on top of it. Don't know if they even make one big enough for that behemoth...... interesting thought
You don't need a turbo to win.. Kye Kelley is proof of that and him and the Byrd brothers along with anyone else who was running a Pat Musi 959 wasn't getting the latest greatest parts that Lizzy and family were getting to use.. Jerry Byrd offered to buy Lizzys engine that was blown up and he'd pay new price and Pat got nervous and quickly said no and walked away. You're going to have to have a light car where the weight is exactly where you need it and your maintenance is going to have to be done but there's no replacement for displacement!! A huge cubic inches and several kits and you're going to be competitive every time
I missed your most trusted team mate, your wife. She's always there rooting you on and supporting your racing goals and dreams. She's cool too and a great cheerleader and line up women, like the old days.
Crazy to think it's not even 10 miles total. Before, most of these guys rebuilt their motor.
Great job guys, but I've got to say when doing a job like that, remove the front wheels just to aid in the access to the engine. secondly why wouldnt you use a conrod guide tool to push & install the pistons? Good luck.
The tool that goes in the bore before you hone with the dingleberries is slick! Can those be purchased somewhere?
Thanks for being so old school and yet so fast and competing at a high level. I am partial to purple GTOs because that is what I run...but with a nitrous Pontiac engine that is much, much slower. I'll be pulling for you in 2023. Do you sell shirts? Happy to support your efforts in a small way.
Excuse me since when did they have 900 cubic inch motors... What did I miss... Very awesome
Damn .. the missus knows her shit.
Well.. here goes my little bit of morning time before work. I’m watching a dude analyze his piston rings. Is this what gettint old is like ?
Great video and great teamwork here, even looks like your having some fun too. What would a compression and cylinder leak test look like on an engine like this when everything is right? Keep rolling.......
Is this where we go to get pricing on our vehicles?.....Oh sorry, my bad. That Kelly Bluebook.
Good shit👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Kick some ass this season💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Which tool are you using to seal the lower bore while deglazing the cylinder?
This dude kinda reminds me of James the “Reaper” Choad
How does the intake seal up without a gasket or sealer? I did not see you put anything between the intake and the head?... Great work!
What kind of block is that and what size is it from factory?
Just curious if you’re close to minimum weight? Good luck this season
200th subscriber! Woohoo, good luck this year Jerry 💪💪😎
Did you guys ever live north of the boarder?
What a woman!
Looks like the cam is over 1 inch lift on it
Bore stroke for a 959? Thanks.
@@nicknick2350 I said thanks for answering for Kelly.
5.045" bore size. Hope this helps.
T.S. RACING 🏁
Kelly where can i get that tool to keep shit off the crank ?
I think his wife can hold her own doesn't need your input
Does it have a lock-up?
Yes
Change to a turbo and it would last longer old school. Hahahahaha😆😆😆😆
This so called Equalizer, is this an Albert racing engine?
why do nitrous motors need water-cooled heads but engines using other power adders don't?
Most other power adders are on methonal.
@@kellybluebaugh9864 thank you!!!
I hope I find me a good woman like that one day, you’re a lucky man Mr.Kelly!!
Great wife
after he started that thing up I began doing that little head twist jerk thing Carl from sling blade did.. then I picture this guy going down the strip WOT in this car looking like that old Rat Fink guy that stuck out the top of his hot rod eyeballs bleeding pinned to the seat.. he's that guy, clearly ...😮 lets see the mouse is a small block, the rat is the big block, so what's this engine then a possum? yea Possum Fink, this guy be the Possum Fink.. eyeballs a bleed'n..
😂
It’s crazy the amount of money they pay for these engines and the dam parts don’t even last that long 🤦♂️
Remember, these parts are in extreme conditions.
@@kellybluebaugh9864 yeah I know
@@kellybluebaugh9864 yeah I know
WTF? you steal those pistons off the titanic ffs? musta been a long cold dive.. lolololololo be sure to wipe the cylinder walls dry before you push the pistons out, they come out easier thatta way.. j/k man ..
👍👍👍
