2004 was objectively the best year for videogames. We got so many smash hits that year that are still extremely popular to this day. -People back in 2019 and 2020 were in love with WoW Classic when it rereleased. -People still mod the shit out of Half-Life 2. -People still play Halo 2 on MCC. -Dawn of War and RTW are considered some of the GOATs of RTS gaming. (Albeit, most people play DOW Soulstorm over base game which released in the later 2000s) -GTA SA is still a ton of people's favorite GTA game and mod the hell out of that as well. -While CSS is considered the Black Sheep out of the mainline CS games, it was still incredible for it's time. -Sims 2, while not mentioned here, was and still is an amazing game also with an active modding community. I can go on for days about 2004's gaming releases.
I recognize most of the games but for me the big nostalgia hits are NFS Underground 2, Rome: Total War and Dawn of War. I liked San Andreas but not to a huge degree and Half Life 2 really doesn't feel "old" since it runs extremely well on a modern system and the physics system has held up superbly.

I still own and play some of these games today, just because there old doesn't mean you can't still play em' guys! Some true gems here...
still has better games than most of mobile phone nowadays
2004 was objectively the best year for videogames. We got so many smash hits that year that are still extremely popular to this day.
-People back in 2019 and 2020 were in love with WoW Classic when it rereleased.
-People still mod the shit out of Half-Life 2.
-People still play Halo 2 on MCC.
-Dawn of War and RTW are considered some of the GOATs of RTS gaming. (Albeit, most people play DOW Soulstorm over base game which released in the later 2000s)
-GTA SA is still a ton of people's favorite GTA game and mod the hell out of that as well.
-While CSS is considered the Black Sheep out of the mainline CS games, it was still incredible for it's time.
-Sims 2, while not mentioned here, was and still is an amazing game also with an active modding community.
I can go on for days about 2004's gaming releases.
Bad graphics
You don't want to go back to 2004. You want to go back to being a child with no responsibilities.
Me watching this when I wasn’t born in 2004:
I miss Vanilla WoW. Classic isn't the same. But it's as close as we've gotten.
MGS3, prince of persia, blood rayne.... and half the other games that i played... memories good memories
2004? That's when the BIONICLE Toa Metru series came out.
Matau homies where you at?
Just finished Basic Training in 2004. First game I bought when I graduated was HomeWorld 2. Good times.
Damn, 2004? I play like half of those even now!
1:50 I miss NovaLogic so much, DFBHD and Joint Ops took over my life back then
Remember Dawn of War?
Remember Dawn of War 3? I don't.
In 2004, I would be at the end of my 3rd grade year. Summer. Then going into my 4th grade. I think this was the start of my gaming hobby.
This was the golden age of video games.
Needs Unreal Tournament 2004 to be complete!
And more more games.
I LOST IT WHEN HE PLAYED ANDROID REMASTER OF GTA SAN ANDREAS
No microtransactions, no day one updates, no broken developer promises, just 100% awesome gaming.
0:30 Damn, The Battle for Middle Earth was so damn good
Real ones know War of the Ring is where its at.
You put in every game I was hoping/expecting to see. Perfection.
I'll be in the cold hard ground before living through 2004-2021 all over again
2004 was behind my time, but I’m so glad my parents went old school and bought me a PS2.
