According to my Izumo Shinto teacher, along with the Gobi Desert, Izumo is one of the two regions where the first Modern Humans came into existence around 50,000 years ago as the result of long term evolution. The gods are grown-up human spirits and are at least 10,000 years old. The gods gather in the place where they were born as humans so Izumo is called a region of the gods. The number of the gods is more than 8 millions and peoples throughout the world used to have practices of ancestor worship because they knew who the gods were.
島根、特に出雲の地は我が天皇の国、神の国日本の良いところ、魅力のあるところを全て詰め込んだ感じ。改めて我々は神の子であり、天皇の子、家族であると認識させてもらえる。大和のDNAというものなのだろうか。 出雲というと、サンライズ出雲で朝到着して、出雲大社に参拝してそのまま夜の列車で帰ってしまう人も多い。せっかくなのだから、日帰りや一日で出雲を回るのではなく、このような奥深い出雲の面白さを隅々まで楽しんで欲しいと思います。出雲を知れば、我が国を知る事が出来る気がします。 天皇弥栄 すめらぎいやさか。 Shimane, especially the land of Izumo, is the land of our emperor, the land of God. Once again, I am reminded that we are children of God, children of the Emperor, and family. I wonder if this is the DNA of Yamato. When it comes to Izumo, many people take the Sunrise Izumo train in the morning, visit Izumo Taisha Shrine, and then take the night train home. Since you are going to all this trouble, I would like you to enjoy every inch of this profoundly interesting part of Izumo, instead of just visiting it on a day trip or in one day.
