Yep. Those two were phenomenal on that tour. And of course Brave New World, Blood Brothers and Hallowed Be Thy Name with Bruce's longest vocal ending note ever perhaps.
I was there. The best among the 7 live performances I’ve watched. Unfortunately I’m not gonna be there this year, after have been in Rock in Rio since 2001. AND YES, they are performing energetically even these days, with Bruce singing gorgeously (despite his cancer). Only the song’s pace is slower, making total sense by the age of the members.
Your journey has just begun my friend! Can't wait for you to listen to the rest of Rock in Rio and all the other albums. They are just wine, keep getting better! :)
I remember as a child, in Rio de Janeiro, watching this show on television. It was exactly this show that made me meet the band which I have as my favorite band of all time. Unfortunately I'm not going to Rock in Rio this year, as I'm living in Portugal. But I was at their show in and it was amazing, as usual. I will watch RiR one more time, this time via streaming. Up the Irons!
The energy from this entire concert is fucking beyond ridiculous, both from the band and the crowd. This is Iron Maiden’s peak live concert. You’re gonna enjoy the rest of the show. So glad you’re at this point finally!
HOLY SHIT HERM...your in for a REAL treat with this concert !!!!.... I was at the same concert in 2000 except at London Earls Court Areana ....Fucking insane!
Good memories of travelling 26 hours by bus from Porto Alegre to Rio, not sleeping due to all the metal being played at maximum volume at the bus and all the pot smoke, then watching the shows before Iron Maiden under 40ºC of Rio summer, watching the Iron Maiden show that ended at 3am, then getting lost in Rio, 30 km distant from the airport, with less than $5 in my pocket.
check out there iron maiden where they have a real wicker man on stasge, with bruce sacrified at the end. yeah steve's lips are always moving. he is really into it.
The Rock in Rio show in January 2001 was the last show of the 'Brave new world' tour... Iron Maiden had done the reunion tour in 1999 (Europe & America) then went back to the studio, and then back on tour in 2000 for runs in Europe, N. America, Asia, Europe again, and then Latin America... 250K fans showed up at this concert (350K in Rock in Rio 1985 was Maiden's biggest crowd), and Maiden were in top form that night, but they needed a break after such a demanding tour and the next tour in 2003 was a limited run... Steve Harris recalled that when the tapes came back from the show, the crowd was so big that the mics were picking up the delayed crowd chants from the back... So, those needed to be edited to make the live album listenable. It was released in 2002 while Maiden was taking a break.
Somebody put up mobile recorded footage of the whole Donnington set from this summer, starting off with the first 3 from Senjutsu. Fucking amazing, god I wish I'd caught them on this tour.
He has been known to invite fans to fly on his plane with the band (Bruce is the pilot) if he see's you there often he might call you back and invit eyou and your friends to meet at thew airport, they are actually very nice people.
Worth also checking out the Flight 666 movie which covers their Somewhere Back in Time tour in ’09. Includes some of their best songs from concerts around the world (I was at the Melbourne concert). I especially loved when they played in South America, with the crowd chanting in unison ‘Maiden… Maiden… Ole Ole Ole Ole’, football (soccer) style. Crazy obsessive stuff. Also special is Bruce piloting the 757 Ed Force One tour plane, like he has nothing else to do. The guy has many talents, apparently great at fencing too. 🙂👍🏼
love your reaction. Maiden are a great metal band who are from the UK they make us Brits very proud. if you liked the wicker Man you need to check out the clansman from that same concert it's awsome
By the way, as good Maiden are in the studio albums, they are the best live band. Period. It's insane. I hope you'll check out Scream For Me Brazil by Bruce. That live album will kick your ass.
Yeah but he needs to do Accident of Birth first. I don't know why he never finished The Chemical Wedding. I mean technically he did but he started with the bonus songs and never did the last two.
Iron maiden are doing Rock In Rio this Friday coming this performance was great 👍 but I think the are performing much much better these days the Legacy Of The Beast Concert I saw in London’s O2 in 2018 was outstanding and the Book Of Souls Tour in 2017 at the Sheffield Arena just blow my away because it was the tour after Bruce’s throat cancer and he sounded outstanding in fact Bruce did the book of souls album with 2 golf balls cancer sells in his throat and that album is brilliant and he sounds great in it I hope you review the rest of the live albums as well mate up the irons
There's NOTHING better than that first roar from the croud when they first burst onto the stage🤘🤘🤘 as I said before there a live band and you need to see them LIVE, At last yeah, as I say brings a whole new dimension instead of just listening to there audio, can't wait for the rest, Will say a gain Maiden England DVD needs watching don't think there's to much flashing in it, if you can manage this you should be ok watching Maiden England DVD
I don't think the 2022 tour has a light show that is comparable to this Rock in Rio show. Check out some of their live footage here on YT for 2022 shows on the Euro leg of the tour. I hate to say that and it turns out to be something that would affect you, man... Definitely check for yourself. They still sound awesome. I'll be in Columbus for that show, 2 days before they come to Detroit. EDIT: I just went back and the very first song in the setlist (Senjutsu) has a lot of lights! I hate to say one way or the other.
Politicians always go on about uniting people and fail...just look at Heavy Metal British band an South American people get the picture politicians? that is how it's done.
Oh boy Hurm the Maiden viewers are all a quiver for Rock in Rio. lol. Look, Bruce is the only band member with short hair. Yeah, Bruce is always animated during concerts. Maiden is big worldwide but especially big in South America. Next up Ghost of the Navigator.
Hurm1t they are bootlegs of the Maiden tour 2022 on RUclips for you to look at to see if the lighting is to much for you I wouldn’t want you to miss a great concert
Yeah, The DVD has Dolby 2.0 which I think would be this recording which is why the crowd is low. The DVD also has Dolby 5.1 which is an improvement but for total sound immersion this has to played with the DTS option. Once you go DTS it's hard to go back to Dolby Digital 5.1 for this or anything DVD.
Funny fact: Iron Maiden will be on Rock in Rio again on this upcoming Friday.
And it's going to be absolutely epic!
I don't think they age. They're still performing at this level today! Unbelievable.
Just wait for Sign of the Cross and The Clansman, theyre gonna be whole new songs for you when Bruce sings them
Totally , this version of Sign of the cross and Clansman are something to behold... FUCKING EPIC!!!
Especially Clansman!!!
Yep. Those two were phenomenal on that tour. And of course Brave New World, Blood Brothers and Hallowed Be Thy Name with Bruce's longest vocal ending note ever perhaps.

2:23 Adrian is like: I'm back, boys...
Your journey has just begun my friend! Can't wait for you to listen to the rest of Rock in Rio and all the other albums. They are just wine, keep getting better! :)

Up the Irons!
Oh hell yeah! This is probably my all-time favorite live album.
Ditto!
The power of this band is just....beyond belief.
Your reactions are always on point and honest. Have a marvelous life man! Up the irons.
When they open with a song like this you know the crowd are going to go absolutely apeshit!
The energy from this entire concert is fucking beyond ridiculous, both from the band and the crowd. This is Iron Maiden’s peak live concert. You’re gonna enjoy the rest of the show. So glad you’re at this point finally!

This brings back memories. That great moment when Adrian takes the stage…I hadn’t dared to dream of that day. Thanks, Hurm.
Excellent reaction . This heralded the return of adrian smith back to maiden
LETS GOOOO🤘🤘🤘
Somebody put up mobile recorded footage of the whole Donnington set from this summer, starting off with the first 3 from Senjutsu. Fucking amazing, god I wish I'd caught them on this tour.
8:39 Steve sings along the entire setlist, always have
their smile is contagious. I love live versions
Um dos grandes momentos da história do rock
Over 40yrs experience they know how to measure the crowd.
"En vivo" in Chile is pretty good also.
I saw them in july in the Netherlands. Incredible show again. They are 20 years older but still the smiles and the energy.
BEST. ROCK .BAND .EVER .PERIOD.
He has been known to invite fans to fly on his plane with the band (Bruce is the pilot) if he see's you there often he might call you back and invit eyou and your friends to meet at thew airport, they are actually very nice people.
Feel the vibe so to speak.
Live....there is simply nobody better than Maiden.
greatest intro of all time

Now you get to see the true value of Jannick Gers. Phenomenal live.
Can verify they still go hard at this level at this age. Saw them in 2019 and man. So much fun.
Best live show fucking ever
