    I'm a bus driver from the UK I've been in New Zealand for eight years now. And frankly I am shocked at how many people, namely ex, and present colleagues of mine are filling out a logbook incorrectly. When I point this out to them they don't take my advice whatsoever, and carry on doing it their own way.

    I enjoyed the was you did this, very easy to follow for the average trucker....What frustrates me as a Driver Trainer is the amount of Log Books, especially the ones from Collins that have the info flap incorrectly filled in. Such as end of last 24 hour break being shown as the previous day..which is wrong, the end of his 24 hour break is the time he starts work on his first day back, exactly as you showed. The time he starts is the start of his next maximum 70 hour work period. Also as per NZTA Logbook rule shows there is no need to enter Rego every time you have a break nor do you need to fill in your hubo reading, yet people still insist that you do this and the Collins Logbook show this on their info flap...very frustrating...sometimes even the CVIU tell you that you have to do this...I had this argument once, he did not like being told he was wrong. Its not illegal, its just not required. They also put in far to much info such as...Stayed at Motel at Takanini...all that info not needed, just Takanini Auckland, location location location. I have never advised including your non driving days on same page as a day you do driving but I guess so long as it does not cross lines filled in for your work day then its OK. Might be something for me to look at...Great work

    When you do yard work you have to do logbook pages for EACH of the day that you do yard work.

    My last 24 hr break ended on the 17/05/21, so Sunday the 16/05/21 was my day off. I have worked from Monday 17/05/21 to Friday 21/05/21 circling midnight. Now the Company requires me to do a job on Saturday 22/05/21 starting at 11pm, do I therefore circle Noon? I obviously can't circle midnight if I'm starting at 11pm.

      Hi Kevin
      Thanks for your comment. Circling midnight/ noon does not have anything to do with you starting at 11pm. Please read in your logbook what it says above or next to midnight/ noon. It says START TIME FOR PAGE. By circling midnight or noon you establishing the first 12 if it is midnight or noon. Rule states that all your entries must be continuous , there fore you must keep midnight format if you chose it in the beginning of your cumulative work period. I show case this problem in my paid work time and logbook refresher course. sdtnz.com/

      @@SafeDriverTraining Regardless of whether you circle midnight or noon you are going to have to fill in another page of the book. Very confusing hence why I didn't bother filling one out for that day. NZ really has to catch up with the rest of the World I think. Logbooks should be a thing of the past. E road technology now please.

      Hi mate. As I said time and location of each change. Swapping truck you must write time and location of change;)

    How to fill a logbook if you work on Monday then took a leave on Tuesday then back to work on Wednesday til Friday

    • @SafeDriverTraining
      @SafeDriverTraining  2 года назад +2

      Tuesday is your day off. The rest of entries stay the same. You start new cumulative work period each time you take a day off.

    WAY too fast...should be pauses to allow information to sink in. Plus too many stop , start cuts. Had to watch 3 times and try to pause where I could. Frustrating. Frustrating!
