  • As you guys know Ive been on the hunt for another E24 BMW (my dream bmw) for a while, not really sure when I'd find one, but then this beautiful early model found its way to me. Couldn't be more excited to add this to the collection and start working on it and getting it road ready! Could this be one of the cleanest E24s in the Midwest?!?

    Watching this made my mind to get an e12 or E28 bc I now have a new baby and want 4 doors. I adore these 70-80s BMWs. Thesee we cars (also e24) are so sexy with Euro bumpers amd very well kept. That same engine base we all know and love is the SAME. It’s just like the M engines, from first to S65, they have that same sound and power delivery DNA. Blowing up your comment section but I just love these cars and I’m so happy for you. She is a keeper bro! Wish you were closer to me in SC bc I don’t have any BMW friends down here.

    Find a set of the long “banana” intake runners off a 635CSI as they flow the best off all the big six options. I’m sure you can source the MOTRONIC engine management from the last e24 examples.

    Take off the bumpers and see if the euro bumper (with the oval holes) is underneath. Many run those naked and they loom great. Also the door trim can be removed and the doors look SOOOOOO much cleaner it’s unbelievable. There is a 635CSI in res that has the bumper trim removed and it looks like a way more modern car. Crazy how small changes can show off the natural lines.

    Easy mod if you want to keep it all stock is Jim Conforti chip. It’s so cheap and the gains are real deal. These SOHC engines are musical instruments. I did the Conforti chip on my 1989 325i and I was amazed how much it woke up the car throughout the entire power band. For the couple hundred bucks it costs it’s a crime to drive another mile without the added performance and increased smoothness if that’s even a word. Love the new car!

    • @1984AP
      @1984AP 2 года назад

      You can't chip a 3.2L M30. It's a soldered-in system, unlike the B34.

  • @nater258
    @nater258 2 года назад +1

    sup dude, I've got a grey market import euro spec 79' 635csi. If you want to lower it, you can do air bag suspension or coilovers. It's just not going to be a bolt on operation (cut the front strut towers). We can swap our e12 front and rear subframes with e28 ones and then use those suspension bits - you'll have more lowering options. Overall though, the brakes are bigger on the e12 chassis so you'll lose some stopping power going e28. If you had your e34 on coilovers, it's mostly the same process so I'd recommend doing that. Maybe grab some spare shock towers and put new bearings in while you're at it. enjoy the e24, it is pretty clean and mine with similar miles definitely has more rust correction needed. recommend bigcoupe forums

    She's a beaut. Don't think I've ever seen a black/black 633 before. I like the 80's reminiscent music in this video btw. Those carpets are cool - my 533i with Cherry Red interior had the same color floor mats - black when new, but fade to a green/grey. All part of the charm - I never replaced them in 11 yrs. of ownership. The radio is not original to the car. Someone put this aftermarket, later radio in, which was likely from the late 80s or early 90s. But it's still neat, as it has a handle where you can take the radio out with you to do your errands. My dad's girlfriend did this in `88 with her radio in her Black/Tan Saab 900 Turbo - I thought it looked weird as a kid, but radio theft was a big thing back then. I still have the original BMW/Alpine radio from my `84 533i which was restored years ago. Been trying to sell it for years. This is a B32. It says 3.2/3.5 as when this manifold came out in Europe in 81/82, the 3.2 and 3.5 liter engines used this manifold in Europe. The 3.5L never made it to the US using this manifold. Only the 3.2 and 3.4 made it to the US with this manifold. Yes, don't mess with lowering it. Please.

    I never seen Black on Black before, very nice. I guess Im fortunate in a blessed way. I own a both a Euro auto and US 5 speed version for restoration. Unfortunately, in transit the windshield blew off the Euro because the idiot had tape holding it and said nothing about it during the sale. That was one unhappy trucker with the damages it caused on the load. I thought about using the US version to do a hybrid on the Euro but being that these cars are so rare now I am reconsidering.

      @@m3nameisjosh464 yeah fs! I'm not 100% sure but I know that the fronts mount without too much (you'd want the slimmer euro corner markers as well), but the rears are a bit tricky. series 2 uses the chrome surround bumper like on euro e28s and early euro e30s, but because the rear bumpers on the us spec e24s not having a bottom valence, a shit ton of fabrication is needed there. series 3 are world bumpers so even we got those in 88' and 89' I think. series 1 however has the rear valence built into the rear bumper, so it closes up the ass pretty quickly, save a few holes for side trim shit. looks like there's a half inch lip running along the rear panel under the taillights that needs cutting tho actually, so it might be a pain.
