This when BMW were the God of straight six organic engines, the era when BMW built ultimate driving machine, old school BMW are epic. The engine sounds mechanical rather than the quasi electric synthetic engine sounds of new school BMW. This is like fine wine, Ricky thanks for sharing this video.

Dude, enjoyed this vid. So nice to see a young fella appreciating these classic shark-nose BMWs. Just bought myself a 1986 635CSi, 1 owner (!) with 72K on the clock. Given it a full fluid change plus new discs and pads. Looking forward to taking it back to Mathewsons where it was originally purchased ('Bangers & Cash ') in June to see what they think! Cheers from a (rather chilly) Otford, Kent.

I've used older bmws as daily drivers for the past 15+ years. They were e28s,snd they're flipping amazing. The 525e was my favorite,with the Mtech kit,sounds so great,always turns heads and is really comfy. Even though it's a family car,and automatic,I just wanna keep driving. This had a mere 129bhp when new but it uses it so well. The engine only goes to 4300 approx because it was designed for economy,so always lots of torque. Far from an M635csi but I'm not complaining.

*Love the classics Ricky, thanks for this!* In the early 80's my father had an e28 520e, then an e24 628i and then a dark blue e32 730i with a requested factory manual box. I barely remember the mighty 7 series as a 3 year old. He then traded it after the '91 recession for a white 1988 e34 518i ( :-/) /Then one day he came home in a mint condition 1996 Oxford Green face lift 525i SE. The change from a tappety 4 cyl to a straight six was a revelation to me. This sealed my love for BMW'S. Later he had an e39 530i but the old 7 series and the face lift E34 I WISH he had managed to somehow keep.......

I think they were more like high 40's brand new. One of my favourite cars. Beautiful.

Bro, this M6 is sick!!! The E63 M6 is the modern version in the truest sense and time will show this. Beautiful example of BMW quality, both design and build. Can’t wait to start owning the older M models again.
