Chitsanze Waterfall, also known as Kitzanze Waterfall, is a captivating natural feature located within the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary in Kwale County, Kenya. This sacred waterfall cascades from a ridge into the Manolo River below, creating a picturesque setting where animals frequently come to drink and bathe. The local Mijikenda tribe of Duruma holds the waterfall in high esteem, believing it to be the lifeblood of the region and attributing tribal magic to its presence
In recent years, efforts have been made to enhance the appeal of Chitsanze Waterfall to visitors. Since 2024, the management of Mwaluganje has been promoting visits to the waterfall, aiming to revitalize the sanctuary and attract more tourists to this hidden gem.
