Just to suggest or help other that are still getting the car shuts off. My 05 mag had already a pcm replaced. But i noticed if move the pcm in a horizontal position it had no issues. But check the actual connectors for the PCM! Move them around while the windows down and listen for a bell tone. If you hear it then there’s a break in one of the connector. Just try to move the pcm out and lay it flat and see how it runs. If it doesn’t stall at all then theres your issue. This is after i had replaced the ignition switch, throttle body, and pcm. On mine it came down to the actual connectors. And if i reinstall my pcm back in the original spot. It’ll shut off and have issues starting again. Just sharing my experience.
I knew it was the coil when you explained the symptoms. My Cadillac suv did the exact same thing and I changed every coil and it runs smooth. The dealer should have got a misfire code. I am a very good mechanic and I fix my own vehicles. Take your car and get the engine detailed. Never power wash your engine.
Hey man, i took my car to two mechanic and both could find any issues. I saw your first video recommending replacing coils and plugs, so I did and fix my issues on my Chrysler 300 srt8.
I change my coils & fuel pump car still doing the same thing, after I changed the pump it ran for 2 weeks now it won't start? I then changed the coils and spark plugs. I need help
My 06 Charger RT will start most the time but the problem is the anti-theft system comes on so it stalls out and it keeps doing this and I can't find anything anywhere on how to disable the system or fix the problem! 😞
I have a 2006 r/t 5.7 with 240k mi. It was running great until about 3 months ago when it started randomly stalling out. At first it did it a couple times only when I came to a stop but it would always start right back up. I took it to a mechanic shop to get a diagnostic and they did one and said they think it’s something with the computer not giving signal to the transmission but they would need a few hours to “get in there” and find out exactly what’s wrong with it and they told me they charge $150 per hour. Does anybody have any idea what it could be before I spend $450 for them to tell me I need a fuel filter? It randomly stalls out and the check engine light only comes on when it stalls then goes away when I start it back up
I’ve had sake issue with my Magnum RT. For this dude it was new coils. I bought a new transmission control module (I’m waiting for it to be delivered) and hoping that was the right move. Good luck man!
Dodge magnums are really cool cars. You should definitely keep it and never sell it. I personally think dodge made a mistake when they quit making them. There values are going up and there getting hard to find in good shape.
Retired at 49: Correct. You can hardly find a good deal or a decent Magnum for a low price. People snatch them up like crazy. It’s an unique car that people love. I wish I could’ve had a Magnum as well, but I got a 300C 5.7. Love it, too.
So far my 2006 R/T has had a stalling issue twice, and both times it was while filling up. I was idling while filling, and right before it was full my car revved up loud then cut off. After that, there was a lot of hesitation with the acceleration as if it was going to stall, so I pulled over in a parking lot, sat idling just for a minute, and again it would rev up and shut down. The first time when it happened, the mechanic removed and cleaned the throttle body and it ran fine for 2 months. Till today, heading to Philly I stopped for gas and it revved high and cut off again, turned around went home and it was fighting me all the way! Any ideas?
Reading more of the replies, I have to say that it did rain yesterday and my car was to sitting in a freaking lake of a puddle, so maybe it's also a rain issue? But still both times it stalled at the gas station, and right before the tank was topped.
at what point was itnstalling and cutting off ? was it at a stop and in idle or was it when you would be driving...? i got a 2006 chrysler 300 srt8 , having stalling issues when at idle . changed all 16 spark plugs. and still stalls. cleaned throttle body and still nothing. i dont know if it could be the coils . i been seeing people online form page say it could be fuel tank , pedal sensor , fuel filter , ext. please let me know what you thiink i should do next.
I have a 05 Magnum Rt and it runs pretty good but when I try to go 55 or 70 or so on highway it wants rev up about 2 or 3 hundred rpms and feels like it misses I've changed the pcm tcm plugs bunch of stuff not throwing any misfire codes
I just ordered a pcm hasn’t came yet for my 2006 Chrysler 300 it cuts off just when it rains I heard the pcm control coils so could it fix problem because most coils act up on rainy days?
Rich Kid Jay, had a friend with a customer with the same symptoms as you're describing. So he took it to a automatic carwash, just to verify the rain theory, and it cut off. Got it back to the shop and sprayed around the intake manifold seals and it started stumbling. Replaced all intake seals and runs like a top now. Not sure if it's your issue, but worth a shot!

You can send out the computer to get checked and rebuilt for around 100 some people on ebay

Fuel pump is cover warranty
It’s the gas tank. Recalled but not public. Had mine changed out under warranty.
