Just a little fun storytime with an interesting storyteller and a curious kid doing dishes
I had a lot of fun making this! Hopefully I'll be able to make more animatics like this in the future.

The amount of times I thought that storyteller was gonna kill everyone on that ship is astounding, and then it turned out to be really wholesome, I approve of sudden wholesomeness
Especially when the kid pointed the smoke gun at the cook, I thought it's gonna get messy real quick 🤣

I love your take on this! Personally I saw the story teller as wholesome from the beginning with the kid being understandably concerned about the strange magic. The little things like the playful puff of smoke at the person with the lute and catching the kid is what got me right in the wholesome feels

Having the singer telling a story with smoke was so unique. I didn't know anyone could make a wholesome scene with this song. Also all the characters are so awesome.

Man, I really love how it is just a classic fantasy bard group in a tavern, I definitely needed a non-edgy version of this. so thanks a bunch for the hard work!

I cant stop wathing this, i love the animation. I love their chemistry between the child and the story teller. I would absolutely love to see more of them.
And the guys smerk when he says "hells coming with me" kinda feels suggestive. Maybe the story he telling is actually about himself or maybe someone he was close with?
Annd that flash frame at the end with the child, gets me wondering whats up with the child?

Idk if you've noticed this or not but the kid is right handed! That's how much detail there Is when they are pushed the put their right hand forward to catch themself and when the jump on the table it's the right they lift. but you never see the right eye except for the very last frame and the storyteller puts the gun in the kids left hand the same hand its weilded by in the miniature version

@@GalaxyWolf1203 considering how it's a wheel of eyes with crosses in them, I think it's playing into the righteous hand of God angle actually. Biblically accurate angel type thing.
@@Ian-wn5lc That's a really cool take on it! I hadn't thought of that. It also fits better with the rest of the animatic than something bad happening to the kid, since the rest of the story is pretty wholesome as somebody else pointed out.
I felt like the story he was telling was about himself, too. I mean, it makes sense. The main character of the song isn't a bad guy, he's doing what's necessary to protect other people (the Preacher is clearly harming vulnerable individuals, so it isn't *just* a revenge narrative).
Although I didn't feel like the Deuteragonist was cursed. I think it's more likely that they were gifted a similar power to the Storyteller's, which could be a positive or negative depending on the individual. But it seems like it's intended to be a positive here.

Anybody else see Matthew Mercer singing this? This animation just feels like something that belongs in the world of critical role.
Song always reminded me of Percy’s story but the singer in this animation reminds me of Caleb, I like to think Caleb decided to tell a story about some fabled gunslinger from Whitestone he heard about on his adventures.

I love how it shows this song like a shanty or in some way a bard song.
Personally I thought that it was a retelling of bard's life in one moment, when he smirked singing "Hell's coming with me".
Really nice details, especially the ending that showed ring of eyes and in the middle - boy with his hand up and having a it full of eyes was epic.
I can't wait to see more of your animations! Maybe more with this setting? I think relation between storyteller and child was so nice.
Art is made of shadows and/or lines, so shadow magic being involved in performance is quite genius.
GOD this was so creative, I had to give it a few watches to pick up all the lil details. I love the overall lightheartedness of this paired with moments of suspense and wittiness lmao, it's definitely one of the best animatics I've seen in terms of storytelling

This is actually really cool?? There's something about the more abstract smoke figures like the preacher & drifter that was really visually satisfying
Took me a while but I finally got to see that ending picture…Amazing.
I feel like there is a frame for a story here about an entire world of magic since the storyteller has a mark on his arm that seems to be allowing him to control the smoke from the candles yet there are other people with marks similar but not the same to his.
This was amazing! Simply mangificent! The animation, the story, the way it balanced out the music, all of it was simply astounding! I look forward to seeing more from you, Yminity, because this absolutely exceeded my expectations and then some!

Good storyteller 11/10
The flash frame at the end really reminds me of “the righteous right hand of god”, which is a metaphor to show the omnipotence of god. Also, when Jesus sat next to god, he sat by his right hand. The final part that ties it together for me is the many eyes on his arm and the eyes hovering all around him (a potential reference to thrones and seraphim, 2 types of angels in the Bible) that might reference omnipotence, and also how they all had crosses in the center of them. Final thing, when the kid was making excuses for why he wasn’t doing the dishes, he had a halo above his head. This might be a reference to satan the deceiver.

I have the feeling that either the kid was the drifter and this was some kind of prophecy (The storyteller knows this and is choosing to keep it secret) or the storyteller is the drifter (he's still keeping it secret)
