Otis deserves so much more respect. Truly an amazing talent
Dang right I agree
Boy howdy your name is amazing!
I've never heard anyone say anything derogative about Otis.
That third verse, those first two lines, esp the first, "I have tasted dirty lies upon my lips..." made me gasp in astonishment. Great work, Otis.
I love hearing Otis Perform as much or more than him telling stories or interviewing someone which he is equally talented at definitely an American treasure that's not as well known as he should be.
You know Otis, I turned my radio off at least 20 years ago, I don't get exposed to to much....
This is a truly great song man and I am so glad I found you, your stories, and your music...
Your also a talented business man as well, which is very admirable. An independent musician making his own way is always nice to see...It's a tough tough game. Your channel will be a success,Your being real smart about building it up....hat tip.
Im glad this popped up on my feed. 3.29.2021
We love you so much here in the Appalachian Mountains in South Central Pennsylvania Somerset Pa 💓. GOD is Blessing US ALL as We Watch Our American Brother Singing His Heart Out . We are keeping You in Our Prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯😍😍
As the old Dave Loggins song began “Please Come to Boston”. I’ll be there. Love this and your channel.
Otis is as real as it gets.
I hear two great voices. One is coming from the guitar. This is America in a song.
I recently put together a set of Americana music and, after playing it many many times, I realized that 3 out of the first 5 songs feature trains in their title (Glendale Train, This Train This Morning and Choo Choo Train).
8:10 pm Hi Mr Gibbs finished listening to you sign " It was a train" .Much appreciate you are very talented, your dedication to playing the guitar is evident, and clear vocals. What impressed me most was your humble spirit, God bless you continue to stay in his grace and give us a smile with your music. Shalom😊

Nice.
Love it.....
👍 Holy 🙂 cows 👍 Otis 👍🙂
Good one. A little close for comfort ( in some ways).
Chills!
... As an aside, those strings are going to put someone's eye out,. Better clip them off before the OSHA shuts you down.
You know in over 50 years of playing I've never heard of that happening, but it sure looks dangerous. If I injure someone with my guitar I want it to be because of excess volume levels.
That you got from shoestring..who is is? U tube..hero?
Someone please write the tab for this!
get that man some wire clippers
Anyone have the lyrics?
this is my take on the lyrics
Otis Gibbs - It was a train
I climbed aboard the ugliest of beasts
i've felt the earth give way beneath my feet
a steel beast crawled across the ground belching fire and ash and sound
with a roar so loud it made my ears bleed
it was a train that led me from all i knew
taught me the ways of the wind
from the windows of the train i saw my youth pass by
now this train's gonna take me home again
i saw the dust clouds swirling in the streets
heard steel crack and clanging in the heat
then a filthy churning cloud blacked out the sun for 20 miles
as we rode off to the sound of box car creeks
it was a train that led me from all i knew
taught me the ways of the wind
from the windows of the train i saw my youth pass by
now this train's gonna take me home again
i tasted filthy lies upon my lips
i felt the hateful scorn of hypocrites
i choked and gasped for air with black soot matted in my hair
and closed the door with char stained fingertips
it was a train that led me from all i knew
taught me the ways of the wind
from the windows of the train i saw my youth pass by
now this train's gonna take me home again
now this train's gonna take me home again
Got your coffee ?
Outstanding!
Nice...
