As an American I am personally offended that Harry and Meghan Markle of all people were even present at Camp Pendleton preceeding a very somber time for so many of us. I am from a military family and I cannot tell you how disgusted I am. Four generations of my family served in the military with distinction. What in God's name were the coordinators of this event thinking? The commemoration of Veteran's Day is about service, sacrifice, honor and duty. Attributes that these two individuals are sorely lacking. Our veteran's deserved so much better. I am truly sickened to the core!

It has been over a month since I posted my sincere sentiments about Harry and Meghan Markle's appearance at the Camp Pendleton event. It's astonishing that people are still posting likes 👍 about the comments. I would like to reiterate that I will never be silenced by accusations of racism, hate mongering, being an opportunist seeking fame or being told to be quiet and move on. My family is everything to me. Their sacrifice to serve in the military with distinction will be honored until the day I die. Those of us from military families that lost loved ones know only too well the pain and suffering we must live with for the rest of our lives. For me personally it was a travesty and an insult that the coordinators of this event chose two less than honorable individuals to represent the men and women of our military. They deserved so much better!

Love of family, love of country and making the world a safer and better place. Based on his behavior this is something which is sadly lost on the former royal Prince Harry.

Moreover, our southern border is unprotected, and millions of people we know nothing about pour into our nation to receive care and benefits that we cannot afford to provide to our struggling military veterans. Worse, many of the border crossers may be gang members who commit violent crimes here. Schoolchildren across America cannot read, write, or do basic math, while our educational leaders tell us that they know better than parents how to raise our children. Working men and women are struggling to provide for their families and must raid their retirement funds just to feed, clothe, and take care of their children. These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy. As for Harry and Meghan... they would be welcomed at pre= school openings and senior care homes, but the veterans deserve better. Bless your heart and may God Bless our veterans.//
As an American, I have been following the Royal Family for over 40 years. I loved the thoroughness of this book. It is well researched and it's format is very easy to follow. I have read over 50 books on the Royal Family and have come full circle with thoughts and opinions on different family members. My respect for the Queen grows every year. What Harry has put his grandmother through is atrocious and I have no respect anymore for Megan Markle. In the beginning I had such high hopes for both of them but their need for the spotlight and their insistence to try and overshadow everyone in the family including the Queen is deplorable. I'm sick of reading how they have full support in America because honestly they do not! This book clearly outlines that narcissistic behavior and pathological lying is not appreciated here just as much in the UK. Megan needs to accept she is not Diana...there will never be another Diana. At least Diana had respect for the Monarch. Thank you Tom Bower for a great read.

He's a successful individual, not part of a ridiculous medieval hierarchy any longer, and is proud of his wife, as she is of him. HG is right, it all could have been completely different if she had only been satisfied and had fitted in and worked hard. They were offered the head of the Commonwealth, loads of travel around some amazing countries, finding out about those countries, what help they needed, causes to follow and lots of admiration. But no, it just wasn’t good enough and also too much like hard work. I had hoped it was time for me to move to the sidelines and let younger generations continue the fight to preserve America’s founding freedoms and values. But, like so many of us, I realized that I could not let myself walk away; the stakes are just too high. We cannot let the America we see today be what we leave to our children and grandchildren. Many of our once-great cities have devolved into lawlessness with random violent attacks on innocent people, rampant looting, and large-scale homeless encampments.. Moreover, our southern border is unprotected, and millions of people we know nothing about pour into our nation to receive care and benefits that we cannot afford to provide to our struggling military veterans. Worse, many of the border crossers may be gang members who commit violent crimes here. Schoolchildren across America cannot read, write, or do basic math, while our educational leaders tell us that they know better than parents how to raise our children. Working men and women are struggling to provide for their families and must raid their retirement funds just to feed, clothe, and take care of their children. These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy. Never thought I would want or need to read a memoir like this, but with my son now at boot camp, I found this book to be a comfort, a needed introduction to what it means to be a military mom. (It did not, however, alter my fundamental belief in pacifism, which is the challenging part of this parenting journey for me.)
Normally I don't give a review of a book I just read, but this book I felt I had to. My daughter is daughter is in the army national guard,and she came home and told me she was thinking about joining the military I nervous for her. The day she left I cried really hard, and thought what am I going to do without my girl. Thanks to people at where I work I made through and also thanks to online support group I joined while my daughter was away.Elaine Lowry Byre did an awesome job on this book. I hope the author reads these reviews, because I would like to thank her, her husband, and her children for their service.
Elaine Lowry Brye is an expert on surviving the military. As a veteran, daughter and granddaughter of soldiers, wife of a serviceman, and mother to four children in the military (all representing different branches), Elaine gives the most comprehensive advise for those with loved ones serving. From the very start, this book is filled with page after page and story after story, of the bravery those left behind showcase. Not only does the reader feel like they know Elaine and her family but the other families whose stories are included as well. She gives practical advise and hope to those who love someone who are called to serve without judgement. Some of my favorite stories are when Elaine humbled herself by talking about moments when even she couldn't keep it together. She also describes her time in country when she worked as a teacher in Kabul and when she was invited to introduce First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2012 Democratic Convention (and when she needed a boost from behind from Vice President Biden to get back up a step). This book is a must read if you have anyone serving (or even if you don't). It will give you a sense of understanding and hopefully inspire you to help those that sacrifice so much for our freedom and country. Even if you are not a fan of the military, this is a must read. I also recommend it to fiction writers who are needing a perspective on the homefront.

As an American I am personally offended that Harry and Meghan Markle of all people were even present at Camp Pendleton preceeding a very somber time for so many of us. I am from a military family and I cannot tell you how disgusted I am. Four generations of my family served in the military with distinction. What in God's name were the coordinators of this event thinking? The commemoration of Veteran's Day is about service, sacrifice, honor and duty. Attributes that these two individuals are sorely lacking. Our veteran's deserved so much better. I am truly sickened to the core!

It has been over a month since I posted my sincere sentiments about Harry and Meghan Markle's appearance at the Camp Pendleton event. It's astonishing that people are still posting likes 👍 about the comments.
I would like to reiterate that I will never be silenced by accusations of racism, hate mongering, being an opportunist seeking fame or being told to be quiet and move on. My family is everything to me. Their sacrifice to serve in the military with distinction will be honored until the day I die. Those of us from military families that lost loved ones know only too well the pain and suffering we must live with for the rest of our lives. For me personally it was a travesty and an insult that the coordinators of this event chose two less than honorable individuals to represent the men and women of our military. They deserved so much better!

These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy.

As an American, I have been following the Royal Family for over 40 years. I loved the thoroughness of this book. It is well researched and it's format is very easy to follow. I have read over 50 books on the Royal Family and have come full circle with thoughts and opinions on different family members. My respect for the Queen grows every year. What Harry has put his grandmother through is atrocious and I have no respect anymore for Megan Markle. In the beginning I had such high hopes for both of them but their need for the spotlight and their insistence to try and overshadow everyone in the family including the Queen is deplorable. I'm sick of reading how they have full support in America because honestly they do not! This book clearly outlines that narcissistic behavior and pathological lying is not appreciated here just as much in the UK. I am 96 years old and like many of you, I am exhausted by politics and saddened by what I see happening to America. I had hoped it was time for me to move to the sidelines and let younger generations continue the fight to preserve America’s founding freedoms and values. But, like so many of us, I realized that I could not let myself walk away; the stakes are just too high.
We cannot let the America we see today be what we leave to our children and grandchildren. Many of our once-great cities have devolved into lawlessness with random violent attacks on innocent people, rampant looting, and large-scale homeless encampments..
Moreover, our southern border is unprotected, and millions of people we know nothing about pour into our nation to receive care and benefits that we cannot afford to provide to our struggling military veterans. Worse, many of the border crossers may be gang members who commit violent crimes here. Schoolchildren across America cannot read, write, or do basic math, while our educational leaders tell us that they know better than parents how to raise our children. Working men and women are struggling to provide for their families and must raid their retirement funds just to feed, clothe, and take care of their children. These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy.
As for Harry and Meghan... they would be welcomed at pre= school openings
and senior care homes, but the veterans deserve better.

Worse, many of the border crossers may be gang members who commit violent crimes here. Schoolchildren across America cannot read, write, or do basic math, while our educational leaders tell us that they know better than parents how to raise our children. Working men and women are struggling to provide for their families and must raid their retirement funds just to feed, clothe, and take care of their children. These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy.
As for Harry and Meghan... they would be welcomed at pre= school openings
and senior care homes, but the veterans deserve better.

Never thought I would want or need to read a memoir like this, but with my son now at boot camp, I found this book to be a comfort, a needed introduction to what it means to be a military mom. (It did not, however, alter my fundamental belief in pacifism, which is the challenging part of this parenting journey for me.)
Normally I don't give a review of a book I just read, but this book I felt I had to. My daughter is daughter is in the army national guard,and she came home and told me she was thinking about joining the military I nervous for her. The day she left I cried really hard, and thought what am I going to do without my girl. Thanks to people at where I work I made through and also thanks to online support group I joined while my daughter was away.Elaine Lowry Byre did an awesome job on this book. I hope the author reads these reviews, because I would like to thank her, her husband, and her children for their service.
Elaine Lowry Brye is an expert on surviving the military. As a veteran, daughter and granddaughter of soldiers, wife of a serviceman, and mother to four children in the military (all representing different branches), Elaine gives the most comprehensive advise for those with loved ones serving.
From the very start, this book is filled with page after page and story after story, of the bravery those left behind showcase. Not only does the reader feel like they know Elaine and her family but the other families whose stories are included as well. She gives practical advise and hope to those who love someone who are called to serve without judgement. Some of my favorite stories are when Elaine humbled herself by talking about moments when even she couldn't keep it together. She also describes her time in country when she worked as a teacher in Kabul and when she was invited to introduce First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2012 Democratic Convention (and when she needed a boost from behind from Vice President Biden to get back up a step).
This book is a must read if you have anyone serving (or even if you don't). It will give you a sense of understanding and hopefully inspire you to help those that sacrifice so much for our freedom and country. Even if you are not a fan of the military, this is a must read. I also recommend it to fiction writers who are needing a perspective on the homefront.
What is she butting in for again can she not let harry do anything
I am 96 years old and like many of you, I am exhausted by politics and saddened by what I see happening to America. I had hoped it was time for me to move to the sidelines and let younger generations continue the fight to preserve America’s founding freedoms and values. But, like so many of us, I realized that I could not let myself walk away; the stakes are just too high.
We cannot let the America we see today be what we leave to our children and grandchildren. Many of our once-great cities have devolved into lawlessness with random violent attacks on innocent people, rampant looting, and large-scale homeless encampments..
Moreover, our southern border is unprotected, and millions of people we know nothing about pour into our nation to receive care and benefits that we cannot afford to provide to our struggling military veterans. Worse, many of the border crossers may be gang members who commit violent crimes here. Schoolchildren across America cannot read, write, or do basic math, while our educational leaders tell us that they know better than parents how to raise our children. Working men and women are struggling to provide for their families and must raid their retirement funds just to feed, clothe, and take care of their children. These are just a few of the problems America is facing after three years of bad government policies. They cannot be our legacy.
As for Harry and Meghan... they would be welcomed at pre= school openings
and senior care homes, but the veterans deserve better.
