ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.
"I'm not going to go over the articulation..."
Proceeds to go over articulation. That's why you're the best!
Some of the the Mattel figures were okay, some even good, but I'm so glad Mcfarlane is taking over.
Heather Lederle but 6 inch is better
I hate the DC figures. We need double jointed joints on all of them, better articulation in general, better scale, and not so little kid toy looking.
I wish they fit in with the mattel line tho all my dc figures are either multiverse or classics and I mean I have like 50 dc figures I dont want to start over again
Me too! Much nicer figures in my opinion.
But McFarlane sucks :/
That Batman was a good buy on clearance, but I went through 20 of them to find one with good paint. The majority were cross-eyed. I found one with great paint that looks amazing, but it took a lot of work. Love the articulation.
If only Hasbro could make DC figures...
Something Else That Didn’t Fail This City wait, that’s illegal!!! Al seriousness, I would love that to no end. Although I do like the McFarlane toys mostly, they just need to work on the scaling. In an interview McFarlane is going to take that into consideration.
Sadly, I believe Hasbro cannot do DC figures as long as they are doing Marvel figures, it is in their contract. Otherwise, they would've taken the license a long time ago. Similar to how actors cannot act in movies for the "competing" company.
@@AlxCVFX That makes sense. At least McFarlane toys seems to be on the right track at least. We'll have a better idea maybe by 2021.
@@MardonNaLou Something tells me that they might not make it past their 3 year contract tbh. They are on the right track, but if they don't also try to appeal to their audience's demands, then it's just not gonna work. Sadly, it is also as Todd said in an interview, he has to make toys that can satisfy both the company, which is DC, and potential "new" customers. Since most DC figures are released in 7 or 8 inch scale, I believe they already expect old fans like us to get the figures either way, and in a matter of speaking, it works. But again, this does not guarantee DC extending their contract, since even though sales are relatively good, if the feedback is negative, then they won't be interested in renewing contract. Remember DC is in a tight spot rn, with all the AT&T wanting to shut em down and sh*t, so they won't like it if people are not liking what they're buying.
@@AlxCVFX That is true, I had forgotten about that.
"she looks like she's got the downs" 🤣🤣🤣
God forgive me....LMBO
Man time files, it’s been so long since I’ve seen a Mattel dc figure review
I got all these at clearance for like 1.99 each, lol. Paid a whole total of 9.14 for them.
When a company is desperate to get rid of a toy, they put them at the lowest point possible, which is called the break-even point, in which they just cover the production cost of the figure in terms of plastic and screws. So, there's no major "loss", nor there is any revenue for them. Of course, this doesn't cover other expenses such as royalties to the person who designed said toy, or the portion of which goes to the people who work at the assembling factories and sh*t.
It's basically "aight, lets just get what it costed us to make it at the factory, and get rid of it".
Love it when 4K reviews are only 1080p 💕
Omg lol Ross
that "the" Ray figure, I understand why you brought that up during the Todd interview, dude really is obscure if even you don't know much about him
I only knew of Ray from the old OverPower card game.
Thanks for the video! I found this wave at DD's and Ross myself. Didn't expect you to review this wave at all! Total surprise! Keep it coming Shart! Love your channel. God Bless you and your family!
I love the Batman one myself too.
I only know of one other vixen figure, with less articulation
you forgot Harley Quinn with a mother box and Spoiler with Darkseid Luthor head
There were 2 versions of this set. The one in this video and the one that also included Spoiler , Harley , and Simon Baz Green Lantern. The backs of those 3 show the complete set. I never found the Simon.
I only bought Vixen and Ray from this Wave! I didn't need any Batman or Wonder Woman! I have more Batman and Wonder Woman figures than I need. Actually Shartimus, there are 3 different Vixen figures; Comics version, this version which is animated movie version, and an Arrowverse Vixen! Ray is my third member of the team Freedom Fighters, with Uncle Sam and Phantom Lady! I use a Hoth Stormtrooper as Human Bomb!
I found Wondy today in box for five bucks, and I was kinda jonesing for a version other than the DCUC Wondy, so I jumped.
I wanted the Lobo baf. The world needs more of The Main Man merch.
Amen, fellow bastich!
I found the completed Lex at a collectible store for $40, was happy cause it was the only one I liked but I guess you got a better deal waiting even longer lol
You did acknowledge Vixen's bird being reuse, I see. I remember it originally being Zoar, included with the Sorceress in Masters of the Universe Classics.
The Ray and Vixen are the only two I have and here’s a link to Rays wiki page he has the ability to absorb light and use its energy en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_(Ray_Terrill)
The wonder woman looks like Gail Kim cosplaying as wonder woman
She looks like a hispanic girl cosplaying as wonder woman
Thanks for the great review! These were a lot of fun to make!
What about the spoiler and Harley Quinn
I have the Spoiler figure from that Luthor BAF too.
I was looking at this set a few weeks back cause I noticed they were all on clearance! Great minds! Thanks for the vid 💪🏻
Anyone after this specific wave in the UK they have started turning up at discount shops. The Entertainer also have them on buy one get one half price so the entire wave works out at 45 quid.
Really cool figure
That Gotham by Gaslight Batman looks pretty cool.
Really need that batman
I really liked the ray... 🤷♂️
Damn Id definitley get this line for that price. Nice find!
Thank you for hoisting the banner for cloth capes, bro. 👊
8:13 Bat-screwdriver
Head sculpts on Wonder Woman seem to vary, as mine looks pretty good. My gripe with her is the paint bleeding through the flesh to on her chest... Just looks bad compared to the flesh tone on the arms and legs.
wow i thought you are gonna do this video next week thanks
I recommend The Batman By Gaslight movie over the comic.
THE AnimeHERO nahh comic was better bro
Found all 4 at various Ross stores months back. Got lucky with vixen. My wonder woman is horrible her chest doesnt match head oh well for 6-7$ not bad. Like the lex baf though. Vixen was best fig
I dated a Vixen once and she did manifest animal powers too. Well, just one animal, a rabbit.
Isn’t it pronounced (Mar-E)
Man, I really want to pick up a good 6 inch scale Batman (of a reasonable price, AKA nothing like S.H. Figuarts) but I can't seem to find any that are really worth getting
I got the old DCUC basic bitch Batman with 89 movie coloring, and I've never needed any other after that.
I think Mattel put out a few stronger waves in those last days than this one but these overall look great. The Lex looks siiiick. I do hope Mcfarlane gets to cloth capes quick too. Awesome review!
I really wanted vixen too i dont know why shes soooooooo fukn slept on
I’m here for Lex, not bad at all
Wonder Woman looks like she is having an allergic reaction to a bee sting.🤣
Awesome Review🤘
Pop that luthor head on a McFarlane fortnight wildcard figure and it's a perfect stand in for a McFarlane lex luthor, even with the gloves!
I hope McFarlane toy does the rebirth wonder woman
I dont know that wonder woman 1980 movie fig looks horrible so far. The golden armor one is better but how the hell the same character has 2 different face sculpts.
@@raglyph facts
"I like talking about action figures..." Really? I didn't know that. lol *End sarcasm* but man... the only figure I would want out of that line would be Vixen... but then again I have a thing for darker skinned ladies.
She lookin downy af.
i got that batman because of Batman By Gaslight animated movie.
The good thing about the McFarlane figures is the nalgas in the women figures, it is well sculpted and it looks thick.
The latest Harley Quinn from the Batman TAS looks wonderful.
Nah WW looks like she came from Asian Spiderman cartoon.
Not even the camera likes them.
I wonder if the lex Luther head fits on a Chameleon suit body or is it to big?
Mattel's last run of DC figures look more like Marvel Legends. If they did all their figures like that, there would be serious competition between Mattel and Hasbro
I like Batman the most, just if it had double elbows it will be the thing¡ but extra kudos for the cape.
I wanted this wave (for the BAF) but I never saw it in stores where I live...
The previous Gaslight Batman is MUCH better.
Can you review the 40th anniversary aliens figures
You should have done a head swap with the lex Luther
Mattel was getting good, they were 😭
Bro at least you now what nalgas mean
The only figure I like here is the Lex Luther and it looks cool but I don’t like the Superman style, I wish they just didn’t a regular lex lutor with his original colors and not that superman colors
I thought Mattel lost the license?
why your camera view is bad not like the old vids, it is too near
I think you did your best😂
I like the Ray but it would have been a really weird figure to buy when I don't even own the trinity
Can you go back to the edited videos
Honestly those figures look horrible i hate Mattel and Hasbro. For small figure Mezco one 12,Neca and SH Figuarts are the way to go.For 1/6 Hot toys,Sideshow and Blitzway avoid Star Ace and KO, unlicensed figures are hit or miss i prefer to wait for a review before buying one.School is over lol
That Mattel WW looks have 2 different flesh tones on her legs. Bummer!
And some ppl still want Mattel over Mcfarlane kekekekekeke 🤣
They both have pros and negatives.
@@Knightfall182 well ofc but atleast Mcfarlane has potential to grow. They're only a few months in of a 3yr license and are taking feedback.
@@schwann1826 Based on what we saw at Toyfair, I don't see much growth!
@@Knightfall182 Tye already explained they had the first few waves already done last year. Wait until after Wave 4.
@@Knightfall182 thank you!!!
thumbs up for the review not the figures lol
Batman looks like a cosplayer.
Yeah no I totally see the down syndrome complaint as valid, he has a flat face, almond shaped slanted eyes, and the overly puffy facial features are definitely there
Freakin Rad!
Loose the 4k reviews. Looks amateur and your far from it. IMO
i have the same batman, the head on yours is garbage mine looks pretty good i have no idea what happened to yours 😹
Lmao the downs
Send me bats
Lol the downs a person of the spectrum says it's pretty funny
