John Manalo you are THE man! I get almost all my shoe restoration information from you. If I can be half as good as you one day I will be so happy! Thanks so much for your great videos and great personality John, you are a big inspiration to me.
lmao not that quick of a video but its awesome you go into more detail in everyone of your videos than other restorers and my favorite people to watch you deserve more veiws
The secondary thread just basically goes in a straight line across the inside of the shoe, but everytime u bring the thread through u want to loop it around that secondary thread. Hope that helps
I'm gonna try stitching shoes for the first time and your video is very helpful, but I don't know how you get the second thread. Is it a free floating thread that isn't tied to anything?
I appreciate you! This video was a great tutorial. My only question is about the thread. Is there specific thread needed for this? And what about colored thread for example for the red suede 5s
What secures the interior secondary thread? Most Speedy Stitcher videos use an extended length of one thread on the inside where you knotted it & loop it through the outside thread.
I used the link to buy the thread for restitching the toecap on my bred 4s. I just got the thread and it's super thin. it's nowhere near the original. so the right thread is actually S-Lon TEX 400 Heavy Macrame Beads Crafting Cord
Hey man if I’m doing a custom and the donors have black tongues can I dye them or paint them white or should I take them out and use this method and stitch in a white tongue ?
How’s the thread not long enough if it’s the original thread? I did not get that part, and have seen other videos were using the original thread IS recommended..
Great instructions, but, one question I had is, where are you getting replacement soles from? I'd be curious to try this with older Adidas sneakers I have, if I could even find replacement superstar soles.
yo so quick question. I ended up pulling the thread out entirely from the toe cap of the lighting 4s...will a shoe repair be able to sew it back on with the upper still attached ?
Is it possible to do a partial sew? I've got a pair of Jordan 1s that are separating under the ball of my foot. I'll need to cut the thread to access the separation, but I'd rather not completely redo the entire shoe if I don't have to.
I just bought some retro 5 lows and the toe cap strings are attached to the insoles. I removed one of the insoles because i needed a better one in the shoes. Will those strings come out eventually because of that?

You did a great job on the shoe, but you didn't show us your technique for getting the thread through the loop way down inside the toe, the most difficult part of the job.
Thank you and very good showing the primary thread very well but you do not show clearly how to do the secondary thread from the beginning. Room for improvement on that in my view. Thank you again.
Aye no lie bro been constantly critiquing each and each detail every step by step, through you’re help and have finally restored one shoe of these 99 fire red 5s. Completely even figured out the perpendicular angle needed to pull the thread. Each lesson through RUclips has helped bro, huge supporter. Just would like to subscribe to your patreon simply due to the fact I am willing to help. Give back to you bro for the informational vids!!!
Excellent video, articulate and clear. My shoe is now fixed. The background music however was distracting and irritating, please exclude it from your videos.
Ya didn’t show how to start secondary and lock it off with out the upper and you didn’t demonstrate how to lock off the primary once inside the shoe either.
This is the type of channel I've been searching for all my life. I thank you for show us this man. Amazing !
Your channel is so underrated. You deserve more subs!! Love the vids
thanks for the amazing insights ! I really needed this lesson
When you’re done stitching, do you leave a tail on the primary and secondary and just tuck under the insole or do you knot them tight?
John Manalo you are THE man! I get almost all my shoe restoration information from you. If I can be half as good as you one day I will be so happy! Thanks so much for your great videos and great personality John, you are a big inspiration to me.
How’d u tie the end of the thread to prevent it from coming out?
thanks bro I'm about to start restoring and you completed my question list
I searched forever for a video like this and this is the only vid I found
Beast bro. Clearest instructions ever. I'm in Canada and getting that thread shipped is expensive assss hell

lmao not that quick of a video but its awesome you go into more detail in everyone of your videos than other restorers and my favorite people to watch you deserve more veiws
Ok I got lost with the secondary thread! Maybe it would’ve helped if it was a different brighter color
The secondary thread just basically goes in a straight line across the inside of the shoe, but everytime u bring the thread through u want to loop it around that secondary thread. Hope that helps
What about the end ?
man, john needs more subs. so informative
What is the size of thread you use to restitch the sole.
you need more recognition for that badass work man, great videos!

I greatly appreciate your work Sir.
Thank You for this.
How did you start the secondary thread man?
What secures the interior secondary thread? Most Speedy Stitcher videos use an extended length of one thread on the inside where you knotted it & loop it through the outside thread.
The exterior thread secures the interior and vice versa

0ffBrand G.O.A.T thank you, u sure its right?
brotha if u can please answer this question if the stitching is out does that affect the shoe heavily ?
Thank you for this tutorial, It helped me A LOT, Thank you sir, GOD bless you.
Hey man if I’m doing a custom and the donors have black tongues can I dye them or paint them white or should I take them out and use this method and stitch in a white tongue ?
Exactly what color cord did you use and do you stitch or glue first?
Which grey did you use from eBay LT grey or just grey
This was so confusing for me lol
Same but I watch it like 3 times then I got it
I didn’t get the second thread thing 🥴
@@toniowinsitefr I thought all you had to do was stitch it once and that’s it 😅
When you have to put a picture of the box label to clarify they are Black/Cement Gray & not 🍞 lol.
how long should the secondary thread be? i wear sz 13-14
Really needed this video!!!!! Thanks John!

Hey bro I ordered the thread in the link but Its the wrong size could you possibly tell me the right size to order .
Nice work bro!
yo so quick question. I ended up pulling the thread out entirely from the toe cap of the lighting 4s...will a shoe repair be able to sew it back on with the upper still attached ?
Most likely

Use hooktool not needle and pull the thread outside is easier

ReMarkable :)
Ya didn’t show how to start secondary and lock it off with out the upper and you didn’t demonstrate how to lock off the primary once inside the shoe either.
You just tie a knot
wasted money buying the wrong thread. fix your link. T70 is way too small.
Genial
Sir Pinoy ka. Just asking
Fucking genius dope
i see what you are doing with the upper offs. But you could've slowed the video down with the upper on!!!

First comment 😂
Why does one want to do this?
Lol that accent though
Well explained but the last (primary) string just goes back inside without securing??
Music sucks brother.
