I've loved The Wedding Present for ever. Growing old doesn't change anything. It's just old. Im as much in love now as when I was 17. So many concerts and never enough time.
I'm now thinking along the lines of... If The Weddos make an up to date greatest hits, clear your harddrives because every song they ever made and make has to go on it! Every one's a bloody winner!
I LOVE that KEXP LOVES The Wedding Present! I've discovered some amazing bands on KEXP's RUclips channel since I stumbled on it a few months ago, and now to find that my old faves The Weddos performed live for KEXP makes me very happy indeed.
The BBC released a compilation of Great bands (been trying to get them all for 20 years). There's 12. Amongst is The Wedding Present (got that one 😊). Look it up. Not everyone loves the Beatles 😂😂😂😂
This girl fucked the drummer to get in the band I believe, he was married, there was also another " girl" bass player before her who wouldn't fuck the drummer ,she got kicked out .
Saw them in Berlin in 'Maria im Ostbahnhof'. Thought it was one of the last gigs they made. I'm not a fan, but they are unique and energetic, and that is at least something.
Saw them live in '89 supporting themselves with a Ukrainian set and (must have been) Len on vocals, Dave off to one side on guitar! (Before The Ukrainians became a separate band.) Wonderful!!
Well I've seen them about 15 times over the years from George Best through to Cinerama so I can detect the differences in their songs, can't you, really?
Graycoll5 motorhead The quote “All the songs sound the same” was a lighthearted comment referring to an ep and merchandise that was once available from The Wedding Present (posters, Tshirts etc..which had the line “All the songs sound the same” printed on!) I, like yourself, have seen The Wedding Present many times, including a very personal gig at my local pub in Oundle at the time of “Hit Parade” and they still remain one of my most listened to groups! (And your right, the songs dont sound the same) My original comment was meant as a joke!
I've never understood all the hype around this band. It's quite flat and boring. I struggled to hook up with 'Georgr Best', and it just didn't anything for me.

Man, I love this band...

I had the same feeling again when I found Pixies on KEXP
Crazy how criminally underrated this band is/was. I'm British and I only learned of them through US freeform radio.
I’m from Leeds UK I’ve known about wedding present time 😘😊

I have forgotten just how good Flying Saucer is - saw them in '93 in Belfast, NI and one of the best gigs i ever attended
Can't believe it's been 25 or so years since I saw The Wedding Present live! Gedge you are a legend!

GIRLS ON BASS MAKE ME HAPPY
Does she ever smile💋
This girl fucked the drummer to get in the band I believe, he was married, there was also another " girl" bass player before her who wouldn't fuck the drummer ,she got kicked out .
He 's still got it as far as I'm concerned.
Used to listen to John peel wedding present session so awesome
A truly brilliant love song....Peel was soo right
Go out and get 'em grandpa!
It looks like he's performing in some shitty west coast cafe. He deserves more.
2 drum kits, sounds like the Fall from mid-late 80s
Tight AF version of Give My Love To Kevin (ok, slight note drop at 1:42) They can fucking play.
Saw them in Berlin in 'Maria im Ostbahnhof'. Thought it was one of the last gigs they made. I'm not a fan, but they are unique and energetic, and that is at least something.
I am not a fan LOL
So was Hitler and look how that ended up

Wonderful!!
If I had a best friend I would want it to be Cheryl Waters: the coolest person ever! I just love her.
WIFE MATERIAL
I'm thinking more along the lines of chillin on a sunny day with some cool tunes and a fruit salad... ;)

Please please pleeeeease bring back Pete Solowka or at least get someone who can play
Ha..... you miss Pete as well.... Fair enough, but I like all of the WP guitarists....
All the songs sound the same!
Really?
Graycoll5 motorhead you obviously have never followed the Wedding Present!!!
Well I've seen them about 15 times over the years from George Best through to Cinerama so I can detect the differences in their songs, can't you, really?

private joke!
Quite sad watching one of the finest bands to ever leave the shores of Britain playing to 20 disinterested looking Americans.
Everyone except the drummer looks incredibly bored.
I've never understood all the hype around this band.
It's quite flat and boring. I struggled to hook up with 'Georgr Best', and it just didn't anything for me.
It is pitiful to see this old ass rocker with a millenial band and none of the original band members.
Think about that when you show up late for your shitty job - again.
Objectively: boring as hell.
Dictionary?
this band has definitely grown on me
