- This old balsa Champion 45 with an evolution 61 and a Carl Goldberg with a OS 46 AX take flight on a windy day in November. 39*F The morning was calm, then the winds really picked up
Nice with some challenging weather.
It's all about having fun and doing it your way!
Why would you need a gyro?
It’s not needed but it would help on a windy day, like when the wind is blowing over plastic chairs

If it's windy enough to blow over plastic chairs, I stay down.
I build all my own models and it's not worth the risk.
@@richard1472 I’ve only built one kit, a stick build, and windy or not it’s never been flown, just hangs in the basement looking pretty lol
@@BillCranford
So, you've never flown a model you built
yourself?
Well, that's just sad.
For me, model aviation has become a way of life, a lifetime of learning, if you will.
And it breaks my heart to see aeromodelling being reduced to nothing more than a pastime, like video games.
It's never too late. Try it!
@@richard1472 this spring I’m going to fly it. I just hope the old Saito open rocker fa30 stays running in the air.
