Thanks for the info Sean! I want either the DB-20 in 7.2” or the Acro Type Z-1 in 7.0”. I want this for scissor over comb finishing/refining. Please give me your opinions, you’ve tried a lot of these shears. Appreciate you !!
Hi, I own both the D19 and the DB20 personally I prefer the D19 but switch between the two as the both are so good. I used to use Kasho millennium 6.2 for years. Since I’ve used Mizutani there is no going back. On Nano powdered steel Kasho say it is a harder more brittle steel. My next purchase will be a pair of Acro knife as I’ve been told they are great at slicing and texturing. 😀
What is it about d19 that you like more than db20, which scissor do you prefer for scissor over comb? I am about to by one of the 2 models I am a barber and do a lot of over comb work as well as looking for power comfort and balance while never having to worry about hair pushing or folding no matter what the hair type. I appreciate any feedback, thank you
This is great! I have a pair of Matsuzakis; but my fingers fit kinda tight; I had fallen in love with the D-19 but was concerned about experiencing the same thing.....I think you cleared that up. Thanks. I also looked for the Kengata blade on the DB 20 but could only find it i the swivel. Is that the one you were referencing?
Hi thank for the review. In your opinion is would you recommend these scissors as an all rounder? Would they be good as a slicing scissor? Cheers from the UK. Jason
PJ Santiago I have not, but now knowing I saw on their ig they made the sword db 20 with the d-19 kengata style blade I'd probably would have done that
Hey I am preparing to by a pair of shears possibly 2 pair directly from mizutani North America, i already ordered and sent back schorem master because they weren’t comfortable in my hand, and am now deciding on what to have them send me now. However I was told I couldn’t try cutting with them or they wouldn’t be returnable, how were you able to try them out? Where did you order from?

@@Vectorp47 to be honest you can’t go wrong with either but the sword series is great
Bad ass I’m glad I found this review your right , but they sure are pricey but honestly i plan on saving for some
Alex Castellon they aren’t cheap but they are worth the investment!
Thank you for your review, helped me alot deciding between db20 vs d19
Chocobo kei absolutely it was hard to find any Info when I was making the same decision

Sir one question. What about the tension screw? does it stay in place holding the desired tension or does it get loose with after a few cuts?

Richard Rodriguez they can custom make them to how you want but I have no clue how much they charge for that

jason marino yea absolutely I find it very versatile as a shear they aren’t the pointiest but they do what I need them to!
Thanks for your review. Did you try out the Type Z2 by any chance? If so, what were your thoughts on its power compared to the D-19?

Brandon Berrios I contacted them and they got me set up with the rep in my city and he had some demo shears for me to try out
