In this video I look at the Imalent BL50 Ultra Compact LED Torch. This model is an unusual body shape, with a built in 18650 high drain battery, up to 3600 lumens rated Turbo level, dual switches, dual output including UV LED, OLED display, and fast charging via a type-C port.
I discuss some of the design choices made here, and some of the observations I've had using this, it does have an interesting look and a surprisingly decent beam output/range, and it looked very nice on paper, but there are clearly some areas I think could be improved.

Very nice beams from both of the emitters.
Not giving runtime on the OLED panel is a miss for the operator. Far more reassuring to know how much is left on the battery!
Quality is a problem with Imalent, such a shame as they have been in business now a decent amount of time.
Built in batteries should be illegal, very difficult to recycle. Not to mention hopeless if it’s runs out of juice.
All the points you mentioned should have been captured during product testing.
Pity, very nice performance from such a compact design.
    👍

The OLED is a side show on this Imalent include it on a lot of models, here though it's not that useful. I forgot to check it had a built in battery (I might have passed on the review as it wouldn't interest me however even Nitecore have plenty now so I suppose I have to cover some items), The design looked interesting at the time compact form factor. The switch drives me crazy, just sticks sometimes and it's annoying. Beam is decent though I like that

I'd say it's inspired by Nitecore P18. But P18 is more my alley then this.

Have you been to the website? They're obviously going out of business. They're not restocking any of the old lights. They're selling out each flashlight line and then that's it. I've had two of the flashlights and both have failed. Definitely not waterproof. Nice while they lasted, but cheaply made & 😢cheap components.

I've not really checked it out in depth. I just got an email December about doing a review (took a while to turn up months!), it looked different so I said I would review it. I'm just wondering if it was tested fully with the sticking switch issue. It has potential, but it's not hitting the mark for me as it is. I just call it as I find, tell what I like and don't like

I stopped buying Imalent a long time ago. After three defective lights I found them to be a poor manufacturer with non-existent quality control.

I've not used many, been a while but I report on what I find. Some problems here no doubt
