i am getting tired of slow trap/dubstep songs, brostep with deep pre-drop vocals and “wa-wa-wa-wa” basslines, and one-note melodic dubstep, and this album has all of that. uffaaaaaa
That feel when Excision got me into this style of music and I havent enjoyed a single one in this album... and I still listen to Codename X to this day
He just released all his ID’s he played live and it should’ve stayed that way, only to be played live I remember most of these songs when I saw him at Lost Lands
Really unfortunate to see, that a name I consider so big in the dubstep game come up with so many tracks that sound the same and old. The 'Kick/ Bass stab/ kick-clap/ bass stap" formula for riddim/dubstep just don't get me anymore, and a lot of people still stick to it, it might be good on event's tho, but it's not my thing. That's what separates VR for me, he can pull a "16" track album that have so much variety...
I only like 3 songs, (Hypnosis, Salvation, & Cough Drop). It was really disappointing to hear most of the songs sound so alike and generic, which would’ve NOT been the case for all his previous albums.
my thoughts on the album: yea, excision's worst album yet. I don't like any of the tracks. Almost every heavy drop sounds the same. Quarter note briddim. It's gotten so stale. Funnily enough, the songs that were in your bottom 3 are the only tracks that were the most enjoyable for me. Plague Doctor has a kind of cool idea and a sort of old-school approach to metal step but ultimately not for me. Osiris, while the production is very empty and hollow, has an interesting idea and feels very mysterious. Temporary blue is a decent approach to downtempo, and quite nice to listen to, definitely my fav on the album. End Of The World is another generic Ophelia-melodic dubstep song but the melodies are rather nice. I also heavily enjoy the intros to Decimate and The Last Elder. The rest of the tracks are generic and boring. And for the record, I don't dislike these tracks out of principle they're generic. Simply put, this album does not display Excision's style in my preferred way. The tracks are painfully boring and make for a bloated listen. The album is an hour long. Feels like it's 2 hours long. I'm not very mad about this LP, nor am I sad about it. I am just disappointed at where Excision is at, given how good he used to be. This is just my opinion however.
@@kynriayurei vastive is alright. if you're gonna do the briddim approach, youd better give it some nice flavor or some cool sound design. There is one song called "The Darkness" that in parts actually takes the briddim approach and actually sounds really fuxking cool. Namely the first and third sections of the first drop. I.E bars 1-8 and 17-24. it contains this nice gamey downward sound, and it just works with the briddim pattern really well. the sustain rising sections though, no. if it was using a variant of that downward game sound, I'd be more inclined to like it. since it could have been considered a "reloading" if the previous effect.
I enjoy only this songs: Decimate, End of the world, demisaur, salvation & our fire (only for sulli king vocals) yeah very bad album nothing new just generic briddim drops iam so dissapoited :(
seriously, the chord progressions in these meldub songs are barely even progressions, they literally switch between 2 tones and call it a day, it's embarassing

this is one of the albums of all time
Might even be the album ever
"The founding father of Dubstep, less we forget..."
this album is the subsidia compilations in a nutshell: they just exist, serving no other purpose
Excision trying to release something unique and good after six six years : impossible
Apex was good, but Codename X is still my favourite album from him
Excision release good music challenge
That feel when Excision got me into this style of music and I havent enjoyed a single one in this album... and I still listen to Codename X to this day
1/4 notes the album
Yup this album certainly does exist
Alexis Donn (Donna Tella) used both aliases here with two songs, just like on NCS10

Briddim had its limelight
maybe a space laces collaboration would’ve worked
if done right, that would definitely be number 1
@@xri0tt it’s space laces. It’s going to be done right lmao
@@tylertbone9 fair enough
excision moment
Excision
Man everyone shitting on this album is sad. I enjoyed it :(
I guess a part of these are exagerating, honestly there are way worse dubstep projects than this.

@Paul McRiddim am i wrong tho
Me too man, I don't think it's as bad as they say
i personally really liked this album too
#17 Osiris
“Nothing unique about it”
Proceeds to put the only unique songs all at the bottom
probably the most average album I’ve heard in a while
based 1st

I agree, Our Fire is basically Wake Up with worse drops

nothing has confused me as to why excision is liked by anyone more than this album
It's like no matter who the artist is, if it's released on Subsidia then it's going to suck
Literally every briddim track on this album sound the same for fucks sake
True, like, UBUR's Odium EP was the best thing to ever happen in Subsidia i feel like, and that's genuinely good music, but the rest is just... no

Maaan this is an album you could release in 2017/18 its just not unique
Subtronics' album is miles better
I’m indifferent about both

Excision loves hook Gn back to his routes. For someone to say it’s boring is just wrong
same #1 wow!

Definitely one of the most repetitive and bland albums I’ve heard in a minute. All the briddim tracks are basically the same :/
End of the World is sick but the vocals are so damn annoying sounding lol
Still not as bad as Africa
man, sitting through even this condensed version of the album was dreadful, safe to say I didn't enjoy it at all
compare this to Psy Dubstep Xperia...
This is the worst thing Excision has ever made
the chord progression in back to life sucks. i dont want to say anything obvious about the rest
seriously, the chord progressions in these meldub songs are barely even progressions, they literally switch between 2 tones and call it a day, it's embarassing
Oh dear god why did you do this to yourself? This album is painful, one of the worst things I’ve heard in a while
Pretty bland album
