    I would Gravity Feed it mate, then you haven’t got to have it higher than the pond. I have never been a fan of a moving bed being the first contact of dirt water, you may what a pre filter first or all the crap will get in your moving bed.

    Gravity fed to the barrel then pump feed back to the pond but the pipework from the skimmer needs to be either 3inch or better still 4inch to get the flow rate otherwise you will just starve the pump.

      @@ADS-KOI Use a hole saw and make large holes in the middle of the squares!
      NO water is supposed to buildup and pool in the bottom of the Bakki trays!
      Look at some of the professional ones, they just have a grid in the bottom so the water crashes through onto the media below.
      Check out the series of videos by “Dazzle Koi” to see how it’s supposed to be done!
      Very informative and full of information on media and flow rates required for proper operation!
