I love Ken Dodd. He was my comedy hero growing up. I watched the diddy men as a kid. My mother had his singles. My parents had the royal variety show on tv where Ken was on. He sang and told jokes which I found hilarious and would cry with laughter and from then on he was my favourite. We watched a lot of comedy on telly. Dick Emery, Steptoe and Son, two Ronnie's. I love comedy and music. My parents had the radio on a lot so I followed music from the 60s, 70s, 80s etc and have a load of greatest hits cds.
Lovely to catch Ken as himself…mostly! He really was a national treasure a well earned status. Even The Beatles appeared with him on a show interviewed by Ken and you could clearly see they even then thought he was the best. RIP Sir Ken Dodd
Fascinating interview. Doddy was always inclined to entertain in interviews (do jokes rather than talk about himself), but this is one where he really opens up about why he does it and how he does it.
Ye l agree lovely man. Wonderful interview. I never saw the Diddy men on television. I would have loved. I’m sure every child of my generation in Australia would have it also. (Yes) lm so glad he had such a lovely childhood loving family. I thought that was lovely did a concert in orphanage. I would say l image thought it would be something they never forget. I apologise for the length of this comment. 😊😊❤❤❤❤
