- Whether you are enjoying a holiday in Tenerife or stopping on a cruise, I would recommend adding Santa Cruz and La Laguna to your list of places to visit.
The Tenerife Metro offers a fast and easy way to discover the main points of interest. It's also good value: a single ticket is only 1.35 euros or you may prefer a 1 day travel card (for 4.5 euros). The metrotenerife Line 1 runs between Santa Cruz city centre and San Cristóbal de La Laguna (La Laguna), famous for its historical centre declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO .
The rolling stock is made up of the Citadis 302 model from Alstom, (also in use on Madrid, Casablanca and Barcelona).

Spain has so many wonderful tram systems, so I'm surprised that this is the only one in the Canary Islands. This must be the biggest city there.

Very nice video. Each island of the Canary Islands has something nice to see, but after visiting them all Tenerife is the one that has the most variety and offer, both in terms of landscape and leisure.
It is the largest island of the archipelago and the most populated of the Canary Islands and Spain. It has the highest peak in the country that is inside the Del Teide National Park, which is also a World Heritage Site and the most visited park in the country and one of the largest in Europe.
San Cristóbal de La Laguna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the first capital of the Canarian archipelago. Also in Tenerife is located the first tourist city of the Canary Islands, Puerto de La Cruz. The highest locality on the level of the sea of all Spain also is located in Tenerife is called Vilaflor and is a coqueto little village of little more than thousand inhabitants located to 1,500 meters of height and where it usually snows in winter.
The Anaga Natural Park was recently declared a World Biosphere Reserve and has one of the few Laurisilva forests remaining in the world and where the largest amount of endemic species in Europe is collected.
In Tenerife you can find the oldest dragon tree in the world and one of the oldest trees in the country with almost a thousand years of existence.
The Siam Park water park and the Loro Parque Zoological Park have been chosen as the best in the world in their category.
Hundreds of trails take you through its mountains, valleys, forests, volcanoes and beaches. In it you can find a piece of all the other islands. If you plan to visit the Canary Islands and do not know which Tenerife will undoubtedly be your best choice.
