Thank you, as a beginner in karate (white belt after 4 months since start) I find the clips very useful. The explanations are crystal clear, the kata techniques are cut down to the basic elements.
Came here from paolo's day in the life, got to say man, you are a true inspiration at such a young age. I never had a karate lesson in my life but it fascinates me. Thankyou for the free tutorials mate, keep up the good work sensei!
I'm here for my son. He has been struggling in a large class. We practice so he won't be left behind. This is a great way to reinforce at home. Thank you 💖
i just found this video and it help me so much with my son too. mine is have the same struggling like yours. i did practice together with him and it took only 4 days, 20 minutes per day for him to memorize the moves. i feel so relieved 😆 thank you so much for the creator ❤
i just started out karate nd im 16 so i was kinda overwhelmed by the class but this helped me out alot thankfully, also u are a great parent keep it upp!!!❤🫂
You are an excellent teacher. I will follow your instructions, memorize the names of movements, and practice the way you teach. All your movements, so well explained, will make a better golfer of me, with stronger legs, better hips movements and concentration. At 75, I need to keep all of this well oiled.. Merci
I am amazed on how you teach, how you explain and how you perform, I have never seen a better sensei; you are an inspiration to the way I learn. I love shotokan and I am a faithful practitioner.
Lots of brilliant authentic teachers out there. Highly recommend Kawasoe Sensie, v v few people as good as him technically and breaking it down. Not that this guy isn't authentic, he is, he's great and this is a great breakdown.
Yeah! I mean we all knew he understood it was just like how was his pronunciation was the big question. During my visit to Japan most youth could speak but developing the accent was more of the learning curve for most. Regardless, this is awesome!
Came here from Paolo's vid! You're awesome! Good luck man in your career after college! And also I did not expect you to be fluent in English that well. You're awesome!
So amazing I am 44 years old and have add all my life. I started and having trouble but it has kept me focused. Your videos are amazing I watch this 9 times . Amazing teacher and camera is very good. Looking forward to to becoming amazing sutdent
Thanks for making this video! I just started in a Shotokan dojo and starting off with Taikyoku Shodan and Heian Shodan. Got a quick lesson in class on how to do Heian Shodan, but forgot some parts and didn't catch all the details. Good thing this video exists as it allowed me to see all the little details and practice at home.
I also came here from Paulo’s day in the life of a college student. My 5 year old and I are learning Karake from you. Thank you for your very detailed and easy to follow instructions!! Much love and appreciation from New Mexico!
Thank you so much for this video! My friend who has done martial arts for over 25 years was training me and sadly moved away. He had taught me this whole series and it’s been a few months but this was such a great refresher I had it down in no time. Very much appreciated this! I’m hoping to get back into some more serious training soon! Blessings to you!
These kata videos are bringing back memories from when I started at about age 10. Our sensei's were great but I wish they explained a little more about the techniques for each kata
Dear Sensei, I studied Shotokan for 6 or 7 years & taught for a couple but your explanations, demonstration & technique are simply the best I have ever seen. It has been over 25 years since I left regular practice & your videos are re-kindling that love I had for aiming to always improve myself. From an old karateka, I just want to say thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you so much Sensei. In class every one's really fast. I feel so lost I like the way you take the time to explain everything. Thank you so much for your kindness and teaching.
Thank you, Sensei. The best explanation I've come across on Heian Shodan... love the detail you go into... and now I know the correct way to pronounce "Shuto Uke" ☺️

Uke means to recieve. No mention or explanation of the tetsui (hammer fist) that appears early on? Noticed urs was v small/short rather than the way i learnt it, interesting take on it. Also, first move is actually head turn/looking at ur opponent then moving into gidan ;)
Dear Yusuke, your education style is most resealable and helpful for beginners or people who what to make more discipline and structure, healthy life. Thank you for your contribution!
super helpful thank you! I did shorin ryu for about 4 years and then stopped and moved towns and my old dojo recommended a school that they were friends with but they teach shotokan so the katas are different so its almost like starting completely from scratch not just a starting back at a white belt

Something just dawned on me as someone who progressed from Shotokan to American Kenpo (long story!). This is in light of your recent videos on Kenpo. In Kenpo’s beginner kata, Short Form 1, all of our movements are retreating & we only block (no striking). The idea is that it’s a beginnner’s kata and that as an absolute beginner, distance is your friend. In Heian Shodan, though, you advance into the opponent with first Gedan Barai and then Oi Zuki. However, advancing into the opponent’s space and striking doesn’t happen in Kenpo until Long Form 1-our 2nd kata! The idea is that now you’ve built up a skill level that allows you to do so. You step into the opponent with a Gedan Barai and Gyaku Zuki combination. Interesting contrast in how the 2 styles handle beginner level kata training!
