  • We are taking a day off cruising the Great Loop today, and are enjoying this Canadian Summer, here in the North Georgian Bay. Our anchorage here in Bad River, is truly spectacular, and the French River Provincial Park is gorgeous. We make the most of the sunny day here by floating around, try some more Canadian specialties, and have some adventures in the Rapids.
    Thanks for watching!
    Cheers from the Loop,
    Jennifer and Elliot

    ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

I want to convey how much my wife and I have enjoyed your boating adventure. We appreciate your openness to your learning, trials and concerns along the way. The loop is something that I've always wanted to do. Watching your vlog has given my wife not only courage but enthusiasm to want to do a similar boating adventure. thank you and both!

I can see you guys in the far future sitting in your back yard sitting around a campfire with your 10 grandkids surrounding you guys listening to the never ending travelling and escapades stories. The bestest grandparents ever lol. Will be keeping them wrapped up in wonderworld. I'm 76 years old and a Georgian Bay boater and you've kept me wrapped up in your stories and videos since you began.

Sorry that you hurt your back, hitting the rocks. Love the way Ollie decided that going down the rapids wasn't fun as she swam to shore after Elliot overturned the pool floatie {11:55}.

That was so much fun! Did Ollie enjoy her ride on the rapids? Elliott, sorry you hurt your back on the rocks…hopefully it didn’t hurt worse the next day and was worth the little risk! Such a great video of more beautiful Canada! Thanks for sharing!

We were anchored in sturgeon cove that day. Just north of little current. The water was 74 deg. I love to swim and my girlfriend even more so we got wetsuits and enjoy the water. Can’t wait to see you go through our cruising grounds in the north channel.

Hey, your supposed to take a tall glass, lemon juice around the rim then dunk it in a plate with cekera salt, add the ceasar with a few ice cubes and a stalk of celery, that's a Canadian Ceasar.

Good Morning! I hope this finds you well, and in good spirits. It is a delight for me to see you both steadily improve and hone your piloting and navigational skills. As a former GB sailor and Power Squadron instructor, I can say that your a credit to the community. Please understand the following is not me being a "Debby Downer", but is what I feel, a responsibility to the community I care about.
I cannot stress enough that being entirely dependent on electronics could be extremely dangerous and life threatening in case of complete failure so traditional navigation and piloting competence are essential. The last thing a vessel's master wants to hear in court from a prosecutor is "knew or aught to have known".
Back to the fun! I have very fond memories of very similar adventures my late first mate and I had the good fortune to experience and now you sharing yours is certainly making my day. I am looking forward to see if you had anchored in "The Pool" and hiked up to Topaz lake and also made it to the Benjamin's.

Hey Scho & Jo, I was thinking about getting an ePropulsion outboard after seeing your video and have a couple questions...
1). Do you still love it or now it's just ehhh?
2). Once you charge the battery, how long does it hold a charge if not used. Charging and keeping for days/weeks/months before actually using?
3). After having it for a while now, what other model or brand do you think would work better for you?
    Thanks

Terry hill...Mercury outboards are introducing a new line of electric outboards. The first one is the 7.5 e Avator. They are taking orders for it now. Two larger sizes are coming in late 2023 into 2024. More companies are coming out with marine e outboards.

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  Год назад

Hi Terry! Yes we are still very pleased with the outboard, it continues to simply work! We have two batteries and we've gone a couple months without using the second one and have not noticed any degradation in charge. I think they slowly lose charge, but nothing meaningful if you are cruising. We don't have any desire to switch brands, the ePropulsion has been great. If we got a new dinghy + motor, we would get a faster one simply because of the places we'd like to visit, so that could alter things. However, for the Loop we were very happy with this one!

I'm not sure who hyped you up about Massasauga rattlers, but they're not really a factor. One guy got bit about ten years ago, but before that the last time was 1968. I've seen two of them in my life. One tasted like chicken.
