Seems like you are losing your fish trying to net them. I think you are not keeping tension on the line while trying to get the net under them. I almost never use a net. I just bring them up to the side of the boat, grab ahold of the leader and lift them into the boat. Caught about 50 speckled trout today in Tampa Bay.

Your drag is set way too tight. I didn’t hear it slip once with any of those fish. Your drag is your best friend on a spinning setup. You don’t lock it down like with a baitcasting setup unless you’re going to back real.
@@darrellgrant7615 The drag is slipping my camera audio just sucks. Especially on that big fish, he was pulling the drag pretty hard. The fish that broke me off was on a different rod and the drag was definitely too tight on that one.

Yeah I just ordered a better net to help. It’s hard to do it without a net when using such light pound test line.
I got tired of getting broke off. Preiumn briaded 8 strand lines are so small that I don't use anything less than 30 lb. line.

I use 25 lb. mono leader tied to the braid with a surgeon's knot. 5 raps. Never fails.
