Instructional video on how to help make figures stand in a Christmas Village. The last part of the video was shot in low light and the quality is a little off.
Sorry for your loss. I used your tip on using washers for my lamp post, figurines and trees that wouldn't stand up. I used 6000 glue from the Dollar Store
what a bloody brilliant idea never thought of that I have a small village and a set of lights like yours and cannot get them to stay up many thanks for that idea what a genius you are many thanks
What a lovely Christmas village! Thanks for the light post tips! Always was a problem making my lights stand up. Love the train and the audio. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your wife! Your mother in law would be pleased.
I loved your tip on the washer for the streetlamps. Ingenious! I'm going to attempt to build a large scale village this season with styrofoam, plaster of paris, different paints and a frozen pond with waterfall. Heaven help me if I have bit off more than I can chew but I am grateful to have seen your video for some tips and reassurance that when it's done, it will be something we really like, just like you and your wife do! I'm sorry you lost your mother in law but what a wonderful way to honor her. Merry Christmas 2018 to you and your kin.
I like the fact we can buy those lamps to light up but is it possible to buy any which run on a/c power so Batteries not needed? one more thing, I have seen many set-ups some which take up the whole living room and must have cost $$$$. yours is small and wonderful
I really don't know if there are lights for the villages that don't need batteries. I have not seen any myself but you might do a google search and find some. The nice thing about these villages is that you can make them fit what ever space you have. I don't have much space but I love looking at the larger displays.
I always check items, like these lights, to see if they can be plugged in before I buy them. You can usually find A.C. adapters for sale at places that sell these miniature houses, but you can also do a Google search for "christmas village ac adapter" to find them. However, knowing which one works with each item might take a little more research. I have 4 or 5 Lemax A.C. adapters and they've worked on 90% of the accessories I have, but they don't work on everything. Generally speaking, Department 56 and Lemax products aren't compatible with each other. Good luck!

Sweet little village. Thanks for the tip. I avoided putting up my street lanterns this year for that very reason you mentioned.
Thank you! It's beautiful. New subbie.
Blu-tac on the bottom of the lights once the washer is stuck on will help them to stand up securely on the base and is removable.
Very helpful! I stopped using street lights a long time ago. I guess I can go back to it.
Beautiful! Thank you for the washer tip - I needed that!
Good Idea......Next Year I'm going to try......Happy Holidays!!!!!

Merry Christmas to you too!
Nice village. Thanks for the tip.
Very Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Why not spray the washers black
you could wrap the battery in white cloth
woooow lovely village!!!
Thanks Roberry!
Thanks, great idea
Hot glue a tack to the bottom first. Then stick it in a foam bottom. That is the way I do it.
I just started doing that with my figurines Pete! Sure helps!
Great idea! I should have thought of that- would have saved a lot of heart ache 🙁
