The setup is great, replicas of Grand Central Terminal, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Ralphy’s House from a Christmas Story, replicas of the various cars, trucks ranging from the late 1930’s to the mid 1950’s. The trains both the Polar Express & the freight train as well as the passenger train in Blue & white cars which is my guess the Blue Comet that ran between the New York City area & Atlantic City in the 1920’s & early 1930’s.
Please, upload the 18 minute version! I would LOVE to see it, every little detail, nook, cranny, and piece you took so much care to build! This is a joy to watch, but went by much too quickly for me. I wanted to see more of your gondola and skiers, and a little slower pan across your buildings. I couldn't soak it in fast enough! I will be watching this (just like your others) many times. This was worth the wait! Thanks for sharing. I love visiting your world; fills me with the wonder and joy I felt as a little girl at Christmas. Every year, we went to a Christmas store in Austin that opened up only for the holidays. They had winter scenes with moving elves and deer (like you used to see in the mall), a train that ran the perimeter of the store, and a beautiful grand "dollhouse" whose chandeliers lit up and the little figures danced. It was pure magic. Your videos fill me with that magical feeling all over again, and it is a blessing. Thank you!
Oh yeah, on the 18 minute version, sorry to say that it's all on the "Cutting Room Floor". I will make a note for next year however, because I think you are absolutely correct on the full showing and especially slowing down the pan across the buildings. That was an especially difficult edit because I sped up that shot to balance the time/length. I think it was probably better left as originally shot. You've got a good eye! Thanks again.

My pleasure. For whatever reason, Epic Christmas Village 1-3 can only be viewed on a computer. They can't be played on an IPad. I think it has something to do with limitations on the music rights but I'm not really sure.

Thanks Kaiya. You are correct. That is the K&C Bird Shop facade to the left of Jade Palace. The figure on the balcony is not part of the Bird Shop, but it is also from the K&C Imperial China collection.
MARVELOUS! tracks animating figurines; realism of amrak train schedule and stardust theatre; oz's balloon recovered; marching military; always-that-one-neighbor's overkill xmas lights! frantic mom in yard over her boy falling off of that new bike, and those fabulous trains and Tour de France whizzing by! you even threw some Season's Bay in! watched to 'holly & ivy' instrumental jazz in ground [really in sync w/ video!] add bowl of popcorn...really enjoyable! Elena, You can usually find them on Ebay. Search "Tour de France Figures" and make sure you are searching Worldwide. Most of the cyclist figures are Game Pieces for a french board game.

Every Christmas season we pile the neighbors in the car & go look at the local outdoor light displays which get more sophisticated every year. I was wondering when someone was going to marry light show technology with a miniature Christmas village, and here it is -- Christmas Village Fantasy 2013 Christmas Village Fantasy.

Honestly, my favorite part is creating the Village. That's why I like to start from scratch every year. It's completely inefficient, but it works for me.
TheBigCrabCake can u tell me the scale of depart 56 vehicles..I am in Australia and have to buy from ebay and run everything thro stepdown transformer which is a major pain and expensive. Thought i could collect ordinary toy cars here and save myself a fortune
geri G That's a great idea. I have found that there is an enormous number of die-cast cars available that look great in a Christmas Village. A majority of the vehicles in Epic Christmas Village IV are ordinary toy cars. It is a huge savings and gives me a lot of choices. Department 56 doesn't publish an official scale but I have found that 1:32 scale works very well with the Snow Village collection and with most of the Christmas in the City collection. For the Dickens Village collection 1:43 scale is probably a good bet. Unfortunately, scale is not always consistent from one company to the next. Once you find a car that seems to fit well, I recommend sticking with that manufacturer for your other cars that you might use in the same group or area of the village. I've had good luck with the 1:32 scale vehicles from the "Signature Models Unlimited" company.

Know the opening shot, then transition, straight pan or zoom out & pan, to the next planed ending shot. Thanks John. Believe it or not, this is actually the short version! The original cut was close to 18 minutes. There are clips of the Circus part of the parade, Subway activity, below surface train terminal detail, North Pole, a boxcar delivering milk cans, additional figures from the "The Snowman", Harry Potter Womping Willow and flying car and more that all ended up on the "Cutting room floor". Glad you liked it, I really appreciate your comment.

Thanks John. Believe it or not, this is actually the short version! The original cut was close to 18 minutes. There are clips of the Circus part of the parade, Subway activity, below surface train terminal detail, North Pole, a boxcar delivering milk cans, additional figures from the "The Snowman", Harry Potter Womping Willow and flying car and more that all ended up on the "Cutting room floor". Glad you liked it, I really appreciate your comment.
